Story
Hey there, I'm Orion! I'm a puppy with a zest for life. I'm playful, energetic, and a bit of a goofball. But don't let that fool you - I'm also incredibly smart and brave. I even battled Parvo and came out a victor! My journey to the shelter and into a foster home was quite an adventure. I was living a normal puppy life when I was suddenly imbued with superpowers. I could hear whispers from miles away, run faster than a speeding car, and leap over tall fences in a single bound! But, like all superheroes, I had to face my nemesis - Parvo. It was a tough battle, but with my indomitable spirit, I triumphed. After my victory, I found myself here, waiting for my next adventure. If you're looking for a companion who's full of energy, has a knack for fun, and a heart full of bravery, then I'm your guy! Let's start our adventure together! If you are interested in him, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review! Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $190 (or $245 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clear Lake Petco, 2410 Bay Area Boulevard. Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday!May 26, 2025, 5:04 am

Story
Hi I'm Stella, and I'm looking for a new home where I can be loved and become part of the family.  My foster wanted to tell you a little about me so here it is - "Stella loves to spend time with us, go in the pool, jump hurdles, go for walks and play with her toys. She is a wonderful girl!".  My foster family found me at a local gas station and I love being in a family environment. I'm searching for a loving family where I can be  their number one and given all the  attention I need. I'd probably do OK with older kids (I might knock a smaller child down since I'm a large, active puppy) and kitties if they can put up with my puppy antics. My foster is away from home a lot and has not been  able to be given the attention I so crave and I go to a boarding kennel when all I really want is to be home with my family.  I would love a family that has experience with working dogs, especially German Shepherds who understands the training needed for a young working dog puppy. I've started that training, but you will need to continue giving me lots of gentle guidance until I perfect all those big dog things, like how to behave in a house, how to walk on a leash without pulling, and all those verbal commands every dog should know.  I may even treat people with rough play or decide that a new pair of shoes or a table leg would make a great chew toy, so a lot of appropriate toys should be in my future. The good news is that with the right training and LOTS of love, I'll be the best addition to your family ever and your best bud. If you are interested in her, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review!  All dogs typically show on Saturdays at the Petco in Clear Lake as well. 2410 Bay Area Blvd near Space Center.  Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. Story
Enzo is a male Husky and German Sheppard mix (dna test was taken). He is very playful but very much the lounge around the house type of pup, he’s loving - loves to sit at the foot of the sofa by you and loves belly rubs. He is 1 years old and is fully house trained. He enjoys playing outdoors and running in the backyard but is an inside dog. He is great with kids and although shy and timid at first with other dogs, he warms up and loves to play with them. He is well mannered, sits, stays, shakes hands, and waits to eat until instructed.

Story
Rocket belonged to a friend of mine and he was no longer able to keep Rocket so I took him in to foster him. I’ve had him almost 3 months and had him neutered. He’s ready to be adopted. He’s about 18 months old, sweet, cuddly, protective, and loyal. He likes to be nearby his person most of the time. He loves to play ball, chew on bones and toys, and go for walks. He has been to play day and gets along with other dogs. Rocket and my dog get along most of the time, but Rocket sometimes tries to keep my dog from coming too close to me. I think he would be happiest in a home as the only dog.
