Story
Max is 6years old. I had him since he was 9 weeks old. He’s been a great dog and gets along with other dogs but I can’t keep him at the apartment I currently live in due to pet restrictions. I have no family that will take him. He loves daily short walks and going to the park once a week.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mocha is a 4 y o red and black spayed female German Shepherd. She is up to date on vaccines and weights about 100 lbs but needs to lose a few pounds. Mocha is very social and gives kisses upon greeting. She is a sweet girl but is an assertive dog. She will need a confident, but not a dominant handler. Mocha will benefit from continued training to include basic obedience, exposure, and socialization, will allow her to become a stable and confident dog who will be comfortable in any situation. Mocha has a high prey drive—no squirrel will be safe! She was not reactive to other dogs in the test neighborhood. Mocha rides well in the car and enjoys the water and swimming. Her perfect home would be one without cats, older children, and an only dog. We are looking for an experienced adopter who understands breed and temperament. An adopter who will commit to necessary training and truly wants to work to expand their knowledge and experience while working to shape behavior into a stable and confident German Shepherd. If you have experience with the breed, are looking to spend time working and training a beautiful dog who already has some wonderful qualities, we would love to answer any questions you might have about Mocha. Please visit http://bit.ly/Adoption-TRD for information about our adoption process. Inquiries for additional information can be sent toinfo@trainingresscues.org. Please be aware, meet and greets are only scheduled for approved adopters.       Please either check back for updates or email us for more information.  Please visit http://bit.ly/Adoption-TRD for information about our adoption process. ***Training Rescue Dogs is different from other rescues in the following ways: (1) training is required with one of our approved trainers under the adoption contract and (2) the rescue will match the adopter with the most appropriate dog for the respective family situation. The training requirement is with one of the Rescue’s approved trainers. The training contract is between the adopter and the trainer and is not included in the adoption fee and must be signed prior to or at the time of adoption. Each foster dog is evaluated by an experienced, professional behaviorist. The Rescue does this in order to understand the temperament of the dog and also to be able to match the dog with the best possible family. Meet and greets are only scheduled for approved adopters. All of our dogs are living in private foster homes so we attempt to minimize disruptions to our foster families by limiting meetings to those have completed the application process and been approved. Training Rescue Dogs does require follow-on training with an approved trainer for the dog and the new family. Training is important to establish leadership and a bond with the dog. A trainer will be identified by the rescue based on the needs of the individual dog.  The adoption fee for Training Rescue Dogs, Inc is $450. Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13572Hi! My name is Bruno and I’m a 10 week old German Shepherd breed dog. I’m a sweet boy and currently weigh 14 lbs. I have started my crate and potty training and am doing very well. I'm a very smart boy and love everyone I meet, I especially love my puppy time with my best friend Isla. I love my toys and sleeping on laps. Since I’m very young, I am full of puppy energy. Every day I learn new things about the world and about how to have good puppy manners. My foster family says I’m super sweet and snuggly and of course, you can see how adorable I am. I love play time and naptime and exploring and romping with my sibling family and I will love you too if you bring me home to be your loving companion.I'm searching for:- Someone who won't leave me home alone for more than 4 hours, at least not until I am older. The older I am, the more I can stay home alone. I just don't want you to get mad at me if I have accidents or chew things I'm not supposed to when you leave me for too long. I'm a puppy, so I get bored quickly and when I'm bored I could get in trouble.- I am looking for my forever home, not my for right now home. So as I get bigger I need someone to teach me how to be the best dog I can be. I am young and still learning. You may want to teach me some new tricks like sit, stay, etc. Professional training will help me bond with you. That sounds like fun!- I saved the most important for last. I am hoping my new mom or dad will snuggle with me, play with me and love me forever and ever! Please note that because this puppy is so young, it has only received 2 of the required 3 puppy distemper vaccines. This is very IMPORTANT because it means that the immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. Until then, the puppy MUST stay out of public places where it could be exposed to the germs of other dogs. These no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for the puppy’s medical safety and longevity. This puppy is microchipped and up to date on age appropriate vaccines and monthly preventatives.

Story
At 6 years old, she is a loyal and affectionate companion, particularly good with children, but notably protective. While she can acclimate to other dogs, her compatibility with cats remains uncertain. She is very protective, so it's best that you meet her at our property so we can give her a sense that all is well. We are eager to connect with families who can provide a nurturing environment for her. She deserves an active family. On a practical note, Camden enjoys walks two or three times daily and displays enthusiasm for more activity. She weighs 85 pounds and is vigilant and protective until assured of a person's safety. She is in great health and received all her shots in October. She has a manageable allergy that manifests as dry and itchy skin. We are actively treating with a prescription and working with her vet to move to an OTC option. As of 4/17/24, we are still looking for Camden a new home.

Needs slow and proper introductions.Kid Friendly: YesGood with cats? UnsureVaccines: Up to dateSpayed/Neutered: YesMicrochipped: YesAdoption Fee: 450 Meet Sawyer, a vibrant bundle of energy and enthusiasm ready to bring joy to your life! We welcomed Sawyer into our rescue about a month ago, rescuing him from the Montgomery County Animal Shelter in MD. Unfortunately, Sawyer had zero training or house manners when he first came into our home and was a bit of a wild child. He has improved immensely with structure and proper exercise, but he will need further training and instruction. However, he is incredibly smart and eager to learn. The saying "A tired dog is a good dog" rings very true for Sawyer, and he will need an active owner to keep up with his energy. We're currently working on discouraging him from jumping on people. He's a very friendly fellow, exhibiting no aggression towards humans, though he can be reactive around other dogs if not properly introduced. When Sawyer spots another dog passing by, his excitement peaks, and he can get frustrated if he's unable to greet them. He expresses this frustration vocally and can bark very ludly. Fortunately, he walks well on a leash, especially with the aid of a prong collar and we are able to redirect his attention away. There are several dogs in our rescue that Sawyer gets along very well with and they play constantly, however if he does not have a good initial introduction to another dog tensions can quickly escalate. It is important to introduce him slowly and have lots of distractions ready, like a squeaky toy or treats. He's already mastered the "sit" command, and we're working on expanding his repertoire. Toys are his passion, and he's a champion at chasing them, though retrieving them is still a skill he's mastering. With his boundless energy and loving personality, Sawyer is searching for a forever home where he'll be cherished and given the love and attention he deserves. Could you be the one to make his dreams come true? Sawyer is up to to date on his vaccinations, is microchipped and is neutered. __________________________________If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application.Apply to adopt at: www.nerdypaws.org Nerdy Paws Animal Rescue is a foster based rescue in Springfield, VA. We do not have a shelter, all of our animals are in foster homes. We require all potential adopters to fill out an application before setting up a meeting with the animal and their foster family. Story
Please contact Kady Hammer (KadyH@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Beautiful German Shepherd looking for forever home! COURAGE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Courage        Best Guess for Breed:  German Shepherd and collie mix   Best Guess for Age:    4 years as of February 2024       SEX:    female   Approximate Weight:  48lbs   Gets Along With:    Other dogs! Due to her shy personality, we do not recommend her for a home with children under the age of 12. We have not seen her with cats but she can be tested.    Currently Living at:  South Carolina shelter   Check out these videos of Courage:  https://youtu.be/zjcPwPT2k2I and https://youtu.be/fCyabQfLqyg.   Special adoption considerations: Courage is a truly Lucky Dog!  She tested positive for Heartworm disease but has already been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the adoption counseling process.   When Courage arrived from the shelter, she was pretty reserved in the hustle and bustle of city life.  She has been making great strides in foster care! We think Courage would do best in a home that either has a resident dog or who can make sure Courage has lots of opportunities to go on walks regularly with other dogs or visit dog parks and/or doggie daycare with other dogs to build confidence.    Courage is Looking For:  Courage is sweet but a little shy. She is looking for a home to help her settle, making her feel comfortable, and helping show her what it means to have fun! Courage, just like her name, is bravely starting out on a new adventure and is ready for all new experiences. This girl deserves all the spoils of dog life from fetch in yard to long hikes on the weekend.    What My Foster Says About Me:   Courage is settling in to the daily routines of her foster family's home. She is letting go of some of her initial shyness, wagging her tail when she first sees us in the morning. She likes to have her chest scratched, and is beginning to nuzzle us for affection. Courage is fine with our resident dogs, respectfully sniffing them. She sleeps all night in her crate and spends time there during the day when people have to be away. She enjoys sniffy walks through the woods, and is learning not to chase squirrels we encounter. She will 'sit' and 'touch' for treats. Courage has a huge appetite and is putting on some needed pounds.   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at    www.luckydoganimalrescue.org   .    BE A FOSTER!!!    Fosters make it possible for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to save and care for homeless and abandoned dogs!  To learn about fostering, please contact    fostering@luckydoganimalrescue.org   !
