With a heart of gold and a soft, pettable coat, Wolfe is the perfect combination of looks and personality. Wolfe is eager to please and highly motivated by treats and praise, making him a joy to train. He already respects boundaries and is always trying his best to be a good boy. His impressionable nature means he's ready to learn and grow with his new family. Wolfe loves to play, especially with kids, and is always up for a game of fetch or tug of war (he likes a challenge!). Despite his size, he's incredibly gentle and has never shown an aggressive bone in his body. Wolfe is respectful of his people and environment, never chewing on anything that isn't a toy. Batman is a loving and affectionate German Shepherd who enjoys playing with other dogs and absolutely adores children. He is very obedient, well-mannered, and thrives on attention and companionship. Batman is four years old, fully vaccinated, and neutered. He came into my care after being passed down to me by a close friend. He would do best in a home that can provide him with plenty of love, time, and space to continue being the loyal and playful companion that he is.

Current Location: Accokeek, MD Macey is a shy girl with a soft heart. She starts timid but leans in for affection once she feels safe. She is gentle, submissive, and likes the comfort of kind people and friendly dogs. ENERGY AND PERSONALITY She is skittish in new situations and needs a patient home that moves slow and builds trust. She warms up faster to women and needs more time with men. She is underweight and needs steady care and love. She enjoys backyard zoomies and relaxed time inside. She settles well once her energy is out. TRAINING AND BEHAVIOR Macey is doing well with crate training, house training, and leash work. She responds well to food and praise. She understands no and is learning sit, leave it, and stay. She has not needed much correction because she tries hard to figure out what you want. SOCIAL LIFE She loves other dogs and feels braver when she has a dog friend to follow. She enjoys exploring the yard and watching the world at her own pace. She likes meeting new people once she has time to assess and relax. BEST HOME FIT Macey will thrive in a quiet home with patient adults or older kids. A gentle dog companion would help her confidence grow. She is sweet, loving, and loyal. She needs someone who will give her space, time, and steady reassurance.

Story
Hi, Im Ozzy! Im a sweet, thoughtful boy whos learning how wonderful the world can be. I can be a little shy at first, but once I start to feel safe, my gentle personality really shines through. Im the kind of dog who observes everything carefully, and when I gain confidence, youll see just how smart and affectionate I am. One of my favorite things in the world is going for walks and being outside. I love a nice, brisk pace and enjoy patrolling my surroundings like a true shepherd. Im off to a great start with leash skills and continue to improve every day. I stay focused on my walk and take everything in calmly, which makes our outings enjoyable and peaceful. While I enjoy treats, Im more motivated by routine, reassurance, and learning from other dogs, which really helps me blossom. Speaking of other dogs I absolutely love them. Being around canine friends brings out my playful, animated side and gives me a big boost of confidence. Ive made great progress simply by following the lead of other dogs and being part of a pack. Im also a fantastic car companion. I recently handled a long road trip like a pro quiet, calm, and happy to relax and nap after taking in the fresh air. Once Im settled, Im very easygoing and adaptable. At home, Im a quiet and well-mannered housemate. I dont bark much and enjoy having a cozy space to relax. Im continuing to learn the basics and build confidence with guidance and patience, and Im already showing how eager I am to grow. If youre looking for a gentle, intelligent dog who will thrive with another canine buddy and a loving, understanding family, I might be your guy. With the right environment and support, I know Ill continue to come out of my shell and become an incredibly loyal companion. I cannot wait to find a forever home where I can share all the love I've got to give. Story
Tessa is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Are you looking for a gorgeous shepherd working breed dog? Look no further than Tessa! Tessa originally lived with a family in a townhouse in Alexandria. Unfortunately, due to their limited space and inability to provide her with adequate exercise during her early years, she developed significant pent-up energy and struggled with reactivity, particularly toward other dogs. Tessa has been through a formal training program with one of our trusted trainers, and is now looking for an adopter who can take over her management tools, exercise routines, and structured training. Tessa deserves a family that she will be able to share a lifetime of happiness with. With the help of her training, she has been successful in playing with other dogs after proper, slow introductions. However, we would recommend that she be the only dog in the home. Tessa is bright, beautiful, and oh-so fun to work with. If you're interested in meeting Tessa, or learning more about her, please don't hesitate to reach out! ATTRIBUTES: Tessa would do well as the only dog in the home. Tessa does well with other dogs outside of the home. —------------- Laila’s Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained.
