We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained. We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs.

Story
Frank will be attending one of our adoption events coming up this weekend! To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event they will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events*) For questions about Frank prior to the event, please contact ganesh.n1@gmail.com Meet soulful Frank! Frank will never lie to you, he is very frank. This young man fits his name perfectly, he's a Frank alright! This sweet boy loves attention and is constantly on the lookout for his next pet. He is very gentle and sweet, but has his particular way of walking on a leash. He will get very excited, then realize you are still there with him and come back to get your attention. That's not to say he hasn't done well on leash, just one of this young man's goofy quirks. Even his smile is a silly sight. How can you resist it? He is still learning about the new, broad world and can become anxious about going up stairs, and crossing thresholds, but with a few treats and some encouraging language, he will learn to trust you and follow. He likes to meet and greet new people with a jump and some excited barks, and he doesn't like you leaving if you give him attention, he can become attached quickly, wanting more pets and attention. He has seemingly done well with other dogs and has been doing well in his foster home. He has done all his business outside, and has taken treats gently. He has been working on all his basic commands and knows how to "sit" when given a treat. A household that can be patient with this goofy young man that can expend all his energy and continue his basic training will suit him best. If this young man seems like your friendly, sweet companion, come see him at one of our events!

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Pretty Gabbi is 6-1/2yo, weighs 25lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, but is not microchipped.  Through no fault of her own, as she's a great dog, her guardian has made the difficult decision to rehome her.  "Gabbi knows sit and for some reason she understands 'you can come' when I'm leaving the house.  She LOVES riding in the car and is very disappointed when she can't come.  Gabbi is so loving.  She loves to cuddle.  Her spot is right next to me on the bed.  She loves giving kisses. And, she will howl now and then when she's excited.  It's so cute !!!!   For a 6-7yo dog, she seems very young and energetic.  She could use a little more training.  I have to train her alone because she can't focus with the other dogs around." Gabbi's guardian states why she's made the difficult decision to rehome her:  "I have six dogs plus my daughter's chihuahua - so a total of seven.  My health isn't the best, and I'm finding seven dogs to be too much energy in the house - even though they are like therapy pets and I enjoy them tremendously." Gabbi's guardian states the following regarding children:  Gabbi has been around children, ages 0-16, in her previous home, so her guardian recommends her living with children, stating "Gabbi has not been around children since I got her in August, but her previous owner (who I'm still in touch with) says Gabbi has been around many children from newborn to age 16 and she was great with them.  The previous owner says that if the children pulled her tail or got too rough with her, Gabbi would just run away." Gabbi's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Gabbi lives with 6 other dogs, so her guardian recommends her living with dogs, stating "Gabbi does great with all of our dogs.  She can be a little bossy with them, but she gets along great with them." Gabbi's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Gabbi lives with a cat, but her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating "Gabbi loves to chase and bark at our cat, but she has never hurt the cat." Gabbi's guardian describes her as: Very active Couch potato Playful Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Independent Protective Always at your side Indoor dog Gabbi's guardian describes her ideal future home:  "She would love to be in a family who will give a lot of love and affection.  She would probably do better without cats and probably fewer dogs than I have." Rehoming Fee:  None Location:  Mechanicsville, MD ***** ADOPTION PROCESS  1. If you are interested in ADOPTING me, please CLICK HERE:  ADOPT ME 2. When your application is received, a Placement Manager will do a basic screening. Applications will be forwarded to the owner for further screening and continuation in the adoption process.  3. Please give us 48-72 hours for a Placement Manager to respond after you submit your application. If it has been longer than that, please email:  rescuewellrehome@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE: We provide ALL of the information we have on this pet, here on this page, in its entirety from the pet's owner. For more on how our process works, please read our DISCLOSURE.   IMPORTANT: By completing an adoption application, you consent to Rescue Well screening your application, contacting your references, and forwarding your application to the pet owner for further consideration. All adoption decisions are determined by the owner.     September 25, 2023, 2:58 pm
