Not good with kids, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
8 years old, 20 pounds Personality: energetic, snuggler, independent, loyal, smart, mischievous, outgoing, affectionate, and goofy/funny. Gimlet is a truly special terrier — bright, funny, and deeply connected to his people. He loves meeting new humans and warms up quickly, often leaning in for snuggles and happily bringing over toys to invite play. He’s also a wonderful companion who rarely barks. At home, he’s content and easy to live with: He’s house trained and trusted uncrated, opting to relax on his dog bed when left alone. He also enjoys listening to music and looking out the window, and he especially enjoys walks in wooded areas. When he’s feeling a bit mischievous, he has the adorable habit of stealing a shoe to snuggle with like it’s a teddy bear. What really sets Gimlet apart is his intelligence. He’s highly food motivated and knows a long and growing list of words, including sit, stay, wait, touch, paw, and lie down. He thrives on enrichment like treat puzzles and interactive games, and he even served as a game tester for CleverPet — he’s that quick to learn. He had a blast in agility class, but he’s not a dog-park guy and prefers quieter outings. In the right adults-only home, where he can be the only dog and have a calm, consistent routine, Gimlet will be an incredibly loyal, affectionate, and entertaining best friend. He’s friendly with people, dogs, AND cats, making him the ultimate social butterfly (minus the wings… although, with his charm, he might as well fly).     Looking for a buddy who’s sweet as can be, adores life, and is ready to love you unconditionally? Then Merle is your guy. Don’t wait — apply today and scoop up this cutie before someone else does. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. This bundle of cuteness came from an overcrowded shelter in Alabama. The shelter is a scary place for a little puppy, fortunately she has been rescued by K-9 Lifesavers and landed a nice foster home. Noelle is now ready to find her forever home. Could that be with you? Noelle is very sweet and great with other dogs. She can be a tad shy at first but warms up very quickly.  She will need another pup in the home to help her with her confidence and a fenced in back yard.  If you are looking to add a playmate for your current dog, she would be an amazing addition!  At her young age, Noelle is in her prime for training and socialization too. If you're looking for a companion who will love you unconditionally and bring a sense of joy and companionship to your home, Noelle is the perfect choice. Story
Chevy is a neutered male tan Mountain Feist/Mastiff mix born about 6/25. Crate trained, leash trained, and doing well on house training. Chevy is sweet and charming. This is the dog that a lot of people are looking for. He is somewhat intimidating to just look at but is about the sweetest dog ever. He gets along with other dogs and loves the many cats in the foster home. He wants to snuggle with the cats and will lick them like they are his babies. Chevy is calm, and on the submissive side with other dogs. If he’s laying down, he just lets the other dogs who are playing and being rambunctious run all over him like he’s a rug and never gets upset. Silly, playful and a bit shy, he has a wonderful personality. Chevy is happy, healthy and a lover, not a fighter. Adoption fee $50. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, DHPP, Rabies, Flea, tick, heart worm check, worm treatment, and microchip. To adopt, you need to first fill out an application. Go to: https://rutherfordcountyhumanesociety.org/dog-adoption-application/ We are located in Western North Carolina.     Optional transport is weekly.  After your application is approved, we will contact you regarding cost and delivery if you so desire.  February 13, 2026, 5:14 pm

Story
Stasi is a pure bred Chihuahua and she is 8 years old. Stasi was rehomed to our family due to her owner passing away. Our family has had Stasi a little over a year now and we love her, however due to financial difficulties we have to find her a home where she can receive the care that she deserves. Stasi loves to play catch and cuddle and lots of toys. And she LOVES to EAT. Stasi is anti social so she would need someone who is experienced with dogs and her particular breed. Also she will need someone who is patient and can love her past her insecurities! Thank you!

Story
Stasi is a sweet girl! Stasi was rehoused to me almost one year ago and due to financial hardship I cannot afford to continue to care for her! Stasi is 8 years old. She likes to play with toys and likes to cuddle. However, Stasi needs more socialization and I just don’t have the time or resources to meet that need. Stasi loves nutritional home cooked food as well as Cesar’s dog food. I would like for her preferably to go to a home with no children and to someone that will have the time to walk her and play with her as she is full of energy!

Story
Hi, I'm Todd! I'm a super friendly Chihuahua mix. I can be a bit nervous at first, but will come out of my shell with love and patience. I also get a little nervous when putting on my leash, but take it slow and steady and I'll be ready for my walk! The nice folks at RDR will update my profile when they learn more about me. I cannot wait to find a forever home where I can share all the love I've got to give. Please visit our website www.ruraldogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing dog and to see other dogs available for adoption!
