Story
🐾 Meet Teddy! 🐾Teddy is a 60-pound Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog mix with chondrodysplasia, giving him his adorable short legs—most people think he’s part Corgi! We rescued him as a puppy in April 2024.Teddy is incredibly cuddly and thinks he’s a lap dog. He loves kids, adults, other dogs he knows, snow, and playing with his best buddy Archie, our Schnauzer-Shih Tzu mix. He is smart, high-energy, and has completed extensive professional training. He would thrive in an active home, farm, or ranch with daily exercise. The only aggression Teddy has ever shown is food-related resource guarding. Outside of those situations, he is loving and affectionate. Because young children cannot always understand those boundaries, we are seeking an experienced, ADULT-ONLY home familiar with resource guarding. Follow-up trainer visits are available to help with his transition.Rehoming fee applies but may be waived for the right fit. Our priority is Teddy’s perfect home.

Story
Polaris is a young girl who was found dumped on the side of the road with a bag of dog food dumped on the ground as her only help for survival. A good samaritan picked her up and contacted me. Help Polaris never face that kind of treatment again by giving her a forever home. She is very sweet and friendly and great with other dogs and people and kids. She definitely has a prey drive though, which is not at all unusual for dogs, so no kitties or small animals. She walks well on the leash and does well in a crate. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) Vetting: spayed, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative) Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
We got Sofi when she was only 5 weeks old not knowing that the seller should not have taken her away from her mother but she was healthy right off the bat with no issues. She was boarded and trained at Complete Canine training in September and has a year free of continued training available for use at any time. She loves to play with our daughter and absolutely loves attention and being loved on. She loves to go for walks, play at the dog park, and loves her toys. She is coming up on a year and has yet to be spayed because we wanted to wait until she was of mature age to do so. She will be truly missed by our family and as difficult as it is we are doing this for her as she deserves more attention and our time then we’re able to give her right now as we are constantly running from sport to event to for our daughter on to of our everyday crazy schedule. Our only request is she be with someone who will truly love and protect her.

Story
Luna is a sweet dog she loves the outside she loves to play she is still a puppy so she does need some work. I purchased her from my cousin but they didn't do alot of training, and I've been trying but its alot with a newborn and a 6yo, I'm rehoming her because i just dont have enough time in my day to train her I thought I was going to but its been a long almost 7 months, she was born on October 3rd. She is decent with other dogs she just always wants to play now with cats on the other hand she isn't good with I have two cats and they are stressed out with her around, so with that said she needs a family that has alot of time to take her out and just give her alot of love im sad that I cant do it but she definitely needs a better home that I just cant give her right now unfortunately. She is outside trained she needs a backyard and she is kennel trained as well

Story
Meet Kyro — Loyal, Sensitive, and Looking for His PersonKyro is a handsome young German Shepherd/Husky mix with a loyal heart and a deeply sensitive nature. He is smart, observant, affectionate, and very bonded to his people. Kyro has a big heart, but he is still building confidence and independence. He can struggle when separated from his person and may become anxious or shut down when he feels unsure. He would do best in a multi-pet home where he has both human guidance and the companionship of other animals to help him build confidence.Kyro would likely thrive with an adopter who has experience with sensitive, intelligent dogs and understands that these dogs need structure.* Loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented* Smart, sensitive, and observant* Loves sniffing, walks, chew bones, and food-based enrichment* Extremely gentle and kind, loves to hold your hand* Quiet and calm indoors - oddly chill for a shepherd Contact me for more info about his personality and training

Story
Meet Debbie 🤍 Debbie is a 2-year-old, 40 lb shepherd mix with a tender heart and a playful spirit. She was adopted as a young pup and returned to our care a year later. Now that she’s 2, we know so much more about what she needs to truly thrive — and it’s a special, understanding home. Debbie is looking for a calm environment with minimal visitors and no kiddos. She needs patience, consistency, and clear structure to help her feel safe and confident. Once she settles in, her goofy, loving personality really shines. She would absolutely love a playful dog companion to help burn energy and build confidence. Debbie is an enthusiastic player and sometimes uses her teeth during play — think silly “love nibbles” that just need continued guidance and appropriate outlets. One of her most endearing quirks? She has an emotional support tire (her beloved “wheel”) that she proudly carries around, chases, and will gently drop at your feet — sometimes right in your toes while you’re cooking — as her way of including you in the fun. It’s her comfort item and her joy all in one. She also has a soft side: peanut butter and yogurt licked off a spoon are absolute favorites, and those quiet bonding moments mean the world to her. Debbie isn’t for everyone — but for the right person who can offer patience, space, routine, and love, she will be a deeply loyal and entertaining companion. She just needs someone willing to meet her where she is and help her feel safe enough to blossom. 💛 Debbie is being fostered in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/debbie/. Story
We love modi and are sad we have to rehome him we got him as a puppy and we took him to work and everything! But as he has gotten older is is not as friendly to our other dogs anymore they want to play and he gets super grumpy about it. He does great with kids just I think he needs to be the only dog. He gets a little protective over food as well. He is so sweet though and likes to sit by the door to protect and watch. He does bark when he sees other dogs and people in the house but is nice in person when he sees dogs and people walking. I just want him to go to a good home, one where he’s the only dog and can be happier maybe with more outdoor space and more time to go out and go in the car (he loves car rides)
