Story
Hi! I'm Jeffrey! I'm looking for a very special home willing to train me on house training and the indoor lifestyle. I've spent my entire life living outside in a pen. So, I don't have experience with other animals or living inside a house. I am a little anxious when meeting new people, but once I warm up, I'll be your best friend! I am loyal and very loving! Jeffery is a 7-year-old, 78 lb, German Shepard looking for his forever family. He is UTD and will be neutered by the time he is adopted. Jeffery is low energy and would love a family who will understand him and be willing to work with him while transitioning into an indoor dog life. Due to the limited history it is unknown if he is good around cats, dogs, or kids. In order to set him up for success, an experienced home with no kids or pets that is dedicated to helping him learn to socialize is needed. We would NOT be interested in placing Jeffrey in another outdoor living situation - at his age and with the weather in Florida, he deserves a roof over his head. We would be open to placement in a "shop dog" type scenario if he had a climate controlled shop/garage or barn to relax in and escape the elements.  Adoption requirements are as such: No other pets  No kids under 16 due to limited history Experience with undersocialzied/anxious pups Not a first time dog owner No apts/condos Experience with large dogs   Jeffrey has to find his new forever home because his owner passed away and he's currently being cared for by his owner's grandson. Please note, Jeffrey is part of Happy Trails Animal Rescue’s rehoming program. Information provided is based on their current guardian’s statements and limited interaction with volunteers. They are not under the care of the rescue. They are under the care of their current guardian. The owner is subject to placement outside of our organization. We cannot guarantee availability. Adoption fee WAIVED to an experienced home. ##1656808##

Story
Luna is a 1 year old German Shepherd/Retriever mix. She is an active, high drive dog that would do best in a home with prior working dog experience. She is housebroken. She can be playful and rambunctious with other dogs, so another tolerant and playful dog would be her ideal companion. No cats. No children. Luna would not be a good match for a first time dog owner or inexperienced dog owner. She would thrive with an experienced handler and a job or hobby.  Adoption fee: $150 Luna is spayed and current on vaccines. Located in Orlando, FL. All adoptions are by appointment only, please fill out an application to learn more. *NOTE: Luna is part of our rehoming program - a diversion program that helps keep pets out of shelters by assisting their owners in finding new homes that are a better fit so they don't need to be surrendered. This means Luna is currently living with her original owners and all veterinary care and history and temperament history has been provided by them.  ##1974665##

Story
I rescued Woobi from a shelter years ago. He is a really great dog. However, he is a little bit difficult to walk because he pulls a lot regardless of any measure to prevent him from doing so. He also pounces at other people and animals while walking so he needs to be kept on a tight leash. It would be best if there are no other pets in the house due to his tendency to exert dominance. Other than that, he is very loving and playfull.

Story
Lani is 4 years old. She was born in New York I have her since she was born, she don’t have a price because she is very special dog like a baby. is a playful and protective dog. She is very smart and beautiful. She have anxiety and barks a lot. she likes to play with her toys. She always home alone when I have to work, I never let her be closed to other dogs or animals she gets excited. Also I keep her away from strangers to avoid any incident. She sleep a lot and eat well, she knows how to use the training pad but since I put her in a dog training before now she prefer to use the bathroom outside. When I take her to shower at the gromming place she don’t let them touch her mouth or nails, she don’t like the dryer. She could get tough. She understands a lot and she is a loving dog. I would like to get her a family that love her and take care of her good. The reason I am giving her away is because I cannot take care of her financially but I love her so much and I will miss her.

Story
Rebel is a playful dog. She is not accustomed to other dogs but is very friendly with people. My wife and I have a new born and Rebel like to play with her, unfortunately a big German shepherd and a little baby doesn’t mesh well due to the size difference and playfulness of Rebel. I am seeking a good family that will care for Rebel as I have.

Story
Sasha is being fostered in PA. Sasha needs to be an only dog. She does not like active dogs Sasha can ONLY be adopted to a home with older children or all adults. Sasha is NOT good with cats. Sasha is spayed. Christmas time is here, soon a new year will dawn, and I’m still patiently waiting for my furever home and that special family to give me lots of love and belly rubs. I enjoy walks and will do OK without a fenced yard if you take me out on walking adventures. If you have a fenced yard I will run and play with you. I just enjoy the company of peeps. I don’t care to be with other dogs, just be by myself with my humans. I am a good girl in the house…unless you leave tasty morsels of food on the counter. Then I may just have to help myself! I know Sit, Down, am learning Wait, but I don’t really want to wait, hee hee. I also do pretty well on a leash. I’m still working on some other things like no jumping up on my peeps. I just want to greet and say Hi and give kisses and hugs to my peeps. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Trainer Update: Our gorgeous Noelle worked with a trainer who says she is a great dog for an active home with a job: physical activity, etc. Continued training is recommended as Noelle has protective instincts and would be best for an owner with Shepherd/dominant breed experience. =================================== Noelle loves long walks and absolutely loves to play fetch.  She likes having one special stick to fetch again and again.  A 6' fenced backyard is required for her to safely romp and play.Noelle LOVES water! She would love to find a home with a kiddie pool, pool or pond.  Noelle is a very strong girl who pulls hard on the leash.  She will need training and maybe a special harness because she just wants to smell everything as fast as possible! She is very good with people; she likes kids and people so much that she jumps on them in her excitement to meet them.  She will need some doggie etiquette training in this area.  She is not a fan of cats or other dogs since her family never properly socialized her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Noelle's family surrendered her right before the holidays. At the time, we knew she was pregnant, but because she was so emaciated it was difficult to tell just how close she was to having puppies. Four days later, she gave birth to 6 little girls, all now adopted!   Not only was Noelle very emaciated, but her neglect included severe skin issues and was positive for hookworms. One thing going for her was that she was heartworm negative:)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 5, 2024, 4:46 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Kovu and his 7 siblings were found in a box near a hotel.  Their eyes were closed and they were in need of immediate care.  Unfortunately this happened in South Florida and the pup were transported to PRBJ and into a foster home to get the proper care needed for such young puppies with no mama. Kovu is a smart pup that already has the hang of the leash although he is not a pro on it yet but with a diliegent owner this many things should be easy learning for this handsome boy. New puppy parents must be dedicated to obedience, socialization and potty training to ensure the pup grows up to be a happy and well-adjusted dog. We highly recommend their new family attend puppy training classes. Training classes are the most successful when everyone in the family attends so you all learn about your new puppy.      Please note a fenced yard is need for this baby to romp and safely play.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 5, 2024, 4:46 pm

Story
Hi, I'm Eclipse! My brothers and sisters and I were dropped off in a rural neighborhood to fen for ourselves when a good samaritan reached out to Second Chance to help us. Now we have been vetted, received our shots and boosters, we've seen the vet, and are ready to go to our new homes. We will have to be taken to Spay n Save in the beginning of June for our neuter appt and rabies shot, which is included in our adoption fee. I also come with a registered microchip and a full set of vet records for you and my new vet. We are all very sweet pups and will likely be 50-80 pounds when fully grown, I'm one of the largest pups, so I will probably be closer to the 80 pound mark - but since no DNA test has been done, so this weight is just a guess. I will be a large breed adult dog, so will require room inside and out. Since I am a large breed puppy and possibly a restricted breed (Shepherd mix), I will require an adopter who owns their own home, no renters. If you would like to meet me and my siblings, please complete an adoption application. Upon pre-approval, someone will reach out to set up a meet and greet. Looking forward to meeting you! Note: Incomplete applications will not be reviewed and will be deleted. Adoption Requirements: - 25 years and older - Homeowner only, no renters - Preferably big dog experience - Preferably fenced in yard ##2045117##
