Story
Aurora is a 1 yo female GSD mix. She is a mixed breed and the vet does not believe she’ll get much larger than her current size. She currently lives in a home with small children and does very well, but forgets her size on occasion. Aurora Is eager to learn, but we have not had the time to train her.

Story
Starla is an 18-month-old German Shepherd/Irish Setter mix with a gorgeous all-black coat and an incredibly sweet, gentle personality. She weighs about 74 lbs and loves being close to her people — whether that’s joining you for a walk, lounging by your side, or just keeping you company around the house. She’s a playful, loyal young dog with a lot of love to give. Starla gets along well with people and would thrive in a home where she can enjoy attention, regular exercise, and a calm environment. Starla does have some allergies, which is one of the reasons her current family in Sanford is seeking a new home for her — ideally one where her environment and routine can better support her comfort. With the right setting and a little care, she’ll be a happy, healthy companion. Interested in meeting Starla? Reach out to learn more or arrange a visit — she can’t wait to meet her future family!

Apply to Adopt Me! SurrenderFOSTER, FOSTER-TO-ADOPT, or ADOPTER NEEDED FOR MAVERICK This handsome guy is Maverick! His name is strong and regal, and it is very fitting for this amazing German Shepherd. He may be full GSD, and looks to be, but since we don't know, we are calling him a mix. This approx. 3-year-old, 58-lb. boy is always alert and knows your every move. He is a protector of his family. His beautiful brown eyes give looks of adoration at times and a gentleness that submits to petting and loving. His eyes and ears show the intensity for his devotion to carrying out his purpose in guarding and loving his forever family. He is very intelligent, as we have seen Maverick adapt to his foster home quickly. Maverick loves to cuddle and lay beside you on the sofa or the floor, wherever you are, he will be there. He wants to always be near his family. When you chill, he chills!  sleeps through the night and gently wakes in the morning when his foster parents get up. Maverick does not bother anything in the home. He loves to play ball, but that is best done outdoors, because he gets too excited in the house. Maverick was found as a stray and ended up in the shelter, where he participated in social groups with other dogs, where he did well. He wants to play with other dogs but his current fosters don't have another dog. Cats are unknown so, due to his size, we will not adopt him to a home with a cat. Maverick is a joy to walk around the neighborhood and to take on hikes. He doesn’t pull on his leash and is always happy to accompany you. He’s great in the car as well. We have not observed him around children, but he has walked in busy areas and hasn't reacted to anyone. He is so affectionate that sometimes he’ll lay his head on your lap or yelp to get your attention. He likes to play with interactive toys inside and would definitely like to play ball outside in a fenced yard. True to the GSD breed, Maverick is a guard dog and will bark to protect his family when strangers come to the door or enter the home. He is currently undergoing training to better equip him to handle these situations.  We are requiring an adopter with GSD experience. He is currently in a foster home but we are looking for an active foster or adopter for him with a secure minimum 6ft. fenced yard. Maverick can't wait to find his forever, active family. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Maverick, complete an app and tell us more about your family. December 22, 2025, 12:09 am

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Needed: Foster-to-Adopt for Chance Meet Chance – Your Loyal, Goofy Companion! Chance is a 2- to 3-year-old, 90lb. German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a playful spirit. He’s already completed training, has wonderful manners, and comes with continued training support to help him succeed in his new home. This sweet boy is great with other dogs and loves to play. He can be a little shy with men at first, but warms up quickly and will soon show off his goofy, affectionate side. Chance is eager for a home where he can be both your loyal companion and your best adventure buddy. Chance’s journey hasn’t been easy—he was found as a stray and narrowly escaped being euthanized at a training facility in north Florida due to lack of space. Thankfully, his future is now bright, and he’s ready to start the next chapter in a foster or foster-to-adopt home. He will be fully vetted in his foster home prior to adoption, so he’s ready to move in and be part of your family. All Chance needs now is someone to give him the love, security and companionship he’s been waiting for. Could that someone be you? Chance loves toys, is house trained, crate trained and walks well on leash. He has not been exposed to cats while with our rescue. He needs a secure fenced yard and someone with GSD experience is preferred. If the home has kids, it's best they be 12 or older. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Chance, please complete and application and tell us more about your family. Story
Hi, I’m Alan! I’m a 5-month-old German Shepherd and Husky mix with a soft cream coat, golden eyes, and one adorable floppy ear that everyone seems to love. I’m a big ball of energy who loves life, playtime, and of course—snuggles! My favorite thing in the whole world is roughhousing with my huge Husky buddy, but I’m just as happy to curl up beside you on the couch or bed when it’s time to relax. I even have a favorite stuffed beaver that I proudly carry around. I’m great with kids—I can be gentle, though sometimes I forget and give little love nibbles. On walks, I get super excited to meet new doggy friends and do really well with introductions (but fair warning, I do pull pretty hard, so leash training is still on my to-do list). I also love long walks and even runs, so if you’re looking for an adventure buddy, I’m your guy! I’m housebroken for the most part, and I can hold it all night long and even when crated while you’re away. Sometimes when I get overly excited, I might have a little accident, but I’m learning quickly. I already know “sit” and “drop,” and I’m working on fetch and other fun games like tug-of-war. And when I’m not playing, you’ll probably find me soaking up belly rubs, greeting new people with tail wags, or taking a cozy puppy nap. I’m neutered, up to date on all my vaccines, and microchipped—ready to find my forever family to love and grow with. Before applying, please be sure to review the puppy adoption requirements listed on our website: www.huskyhavenfl.org/adopt. Adoption fee: $500, which includes: Vaccines and boosters (administered by our vet) Microchip Fecal test Neuter surgery Leash, collar, and Husky Haven of Florida (HHOFL) tag To apply: Submit the $25 application fee via our website or Facebook DONATE button. Email a screenshot of your payment to huskyhavenfl@gmail.com. Once we receive your payment, we’ll process your application. Please note: The $25 application fee is non-refundable and does not guarantee approval. We charge an application fee to help ensure applicants carefully read all requirements. This helps our volunteers dedicate their time to serious, qualified adopters. We appreciate your understanding!
