Story
Furkids and Scout want to thank Classic Subaru of Atlanta for sponsoring Scout's care until she gets adopted! Scout is a loving, energetic, almost 9 year old lady who absolutely adores humans. Scout was pregnant when she came to Furkids. All 8 of her puppies have been adopted, but Scout is still waiting patiently at the shelter for her perfect match. She is our longest term resident and has been in our program for just over 6 years. Scout is a dog who loves a project, so she spends her time outside re-arranging the yards. She loves to move big sticks around and feels like she has accomplished something grand every day. She is looking for a home where she is the only animal so that she can be the center of attention. Her DNA results revealed that she is a Pit Bull, German Shepherd, and Akita mix. Scout needs to go to a home where she will be actively worked with every day. She loves to give lots of cuddles! Scout weighs about 60 lbs., is approximately 8 years old (est. birthdate is 3/14/2015), and her adoption fee is $175. If you want to know more about Scout, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Monte came to Furkids from a county animal control shelter. Monte was in a foster home with cats and did well. Unfortunately, Monte doesn't really like other dogs. He is fine at first but once he gets comfortable, he wants to be in charge. He is a handsome boy deserving of the best forever home. He is increasingly stressed in the shelter and wants to go home! He weighs 44 lbs., is approximately 2.5 years old (est. birth date 10/24/2020), and his adoption fee is $305. If you want more information about Monte, please submit a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Story
Meet Bear! Hello there, my name is Bear and I am an 8 year old German Shepherd with a beautiful, thick white coat. I weigh about 61 pounds, but even though I'm 8 years old, I still have a lot of energy and love to run around outside. I also have a gentle and affectionate nature, and I absolutely love getting hugs and kisses. I even enjoy being brushed, which is why my coat is always so soft. My ideal home would be with a loving family and a backyard so we can play fetch and cuddle! I am beyond happy to absorb as well as give all of my attention and unconditional love to my new owners. Currently, I am up for adoption. If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an application and schedule an appointment with the Humane Society of Forsyth County, Tuesday through Saturday for more information on me. With all my love and hugs, Bear!

Story
Princeton is a German Shepherd but not your typical; He is really shy. He came from a hoarding case where, based on his intake weight, he didn't get much food. Even today, if another dog approaches his food, he leaves it for them. He has a very gentle and calm soul. He would prefer to have a home environment of the same. He is dog friendly but prefers a low energy companion to hangout with. His favorite afternoon activity is checking the perimeter of the back yard. For this reason, a fenced in back yard is highly recommended. As trust with his adopter grows, he will go on leashed walks. He also does well on car rides. An adopter needs to understand they will have to work with him to develop trust. Princeton is about 2 1/2 years old, with an estimated birthday of 09/05/2020. He weighs approximately 65 lbs., and could afford to put on a couple more. If you want to know more about Princeton, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet the dog. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Lemon is a pure goof ball full of love and energy she loves to cuddle like a tiny puppy. I rescued her about 3 years ago and with having three kids now I’m unable to keep up with her as much as I used too. She loves hikes and walks. She is by far a loyal friend, she gets nervous around males due to an injury what happened as a baby, but she has never shown aggression just shy and slow to warm up once she is comfortable your love her.

Story
Ollie is looking for an active and loving home! He’s a silly boy with a big personality. He loves his frisbees with a fiery passion and will pull acrobatic stunts to catch them! He’s pretty well trained, he doesn’t pull on walks, he’s crate trained, he knows the basic commands such as sit, down, stay, leave it, drop it, come, let’s go (to signal we’re going to keep walking), this way (to signal we’re turning), dress (to put on his walking harness), and shake. He’s also pretty good off leash in a quiet area! He’s a very good boy and very loving, he tends to stick to you like velcro. He also enjoys some alone time at night, finding a quiet corner or comfy spot to lay down on. He unfortunately was allowed on furniture when he was younger, but I’ve been working with him on that. He has been a wonderful boy, but my step daughter doesn’t like dogs and he’s a bit too affectionate and impulsive for her. I’ve found myself without enough time to give him the time and attention he needs.

Story
Hi! I’m Ollie – short for Oliver. I have had a lot of fun in my life as I have 3 kids that grew up with me. Unfortunately – they grew up and have gone off to live their lives in different places and I don’t get to see them much. I also had a brother named Stryker – a boxer lab mix, who went to Heaven a few years ago. But then I got a funny, ornery new brother Raider who is a husky. I loved playing with Raider and sleeping next to him. Recently we moved to a small townhouse with a lot of stairs and Raider went to live with someone with a yard. Now it’s just me and Mom – which I love except that she isn’t home much. I love hanging out with my owners – it makes me happy being there with them. Sometimes I make them feel better when they are sad, sometimes, we just have fun together going out and exploring new places. I love walks so much, but I don’t need to go really far. I love water and I even like cats!!! Mostly I would love to be with a loving family where people are home and have a yard. I am very smart and am a lot like my humans. I just want to be your loyal companion and love you unconditionally! If you'd like to find out more about making this gorgeous doggy a member of your family and to better assess whether he would be a good fit in your home, please fill out our adoption form here: https://airtable.com/shrlL2pbqSGTRJiyc *This is a courtesy post through Save 1 At A Time, inc to ensure a safe placement for this pup. Hello there, my name is Chowder! I am considered a little bit of a Houdini as I like to amaze you with my abilities to escape some of my enclosures. I am really just trying to show you where your security needs improvement, but I understand not everyone needs a new security specialist. If you are willing to teach me a new specialty I would love to learn and am very food motivated! I have heard obedience training is all the rage now days and am willing to give it a go if you are. I know a lot of people are looking for companions that are already house trained, and I am happy to report that I like keeping a clean house as much as you do! I am such a fun-loving guy and full of energy so I am not sure that younger kids would like me much, but I would love to run around with older kids.

Story
Are you looking for an active and loyal companion in 2023? If so, meet Bobby! He is a very intelligent, handsome boy looking for a home where he can be adored, and engaged in lots of activity! Bobby absolutely loves running around the shelter's large backyard playing fetch, chasing toys, and zoom, zoom, zooming as fast as he can. He also enjoys playing with our staff members and the water hose in the warmer months! We believe Bobby would be most successful in a home that allows him to get lots of exercise and mental stimulation. He is extremely food motivated, and loves to go on walks. Bobby is continuing to work on his leash manners, and is eager to please while doing so. He would also do best as an only dog in an adult only home with experienced owners. Bobby weighs 50 lbs., is 3 years old (est. birth date 04/24/2020) and his adoption fee is $175. If you want more information about Bobby, please submit a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.
