Looking for all the shepherd fun in a mini package? Gunner (called “Alf” by his foster parents) is a six month old, 30 pound shepherd mix who is looking for his forever family. Want a fun friend to do dog sports? Need a new hiking or camping partner? Want an intelligent dog that wants to do puzzles and games (his favorite game is hide and seek!)? Gunner is your guy! He loves to play, learn, and explore and would thrive in a home where someone is interested in continuing his training. He’s already learned some basic commands, as you can see in the video and completed a week of board and train. Gunner is house trained and crate trained and sleeps quietly all night in his crate. Gunner would do good in a home with another playful dog but would also be great as an only dog...and probably best with children 12+ and no cats ideally. Busch is a five-year-old, 85-pound purebred German Shepherd that was picked up as a stray by the shelter (can you believe that?). His foster says that he is very sweet and playful. Loves attention and getting petted. He is well-behaved indoors with minor corrections for table surfing. Busch is housetrained. They’re working on bell training, and he seems to be responsive already. He enjoys going outside and walks well on a leash, but he sometimes pulls to go where he wants to go, so kids will not be able to walk him. Busch sleeps on the floor in their room all night and has been fine when crated for shorter periods when the fosters are gone. He met their cat and was curious enough to chase her. We knew he was younger than his stated age when we put our hands on him at the shelter, but when he came to us, and his ears started to stand up, we realized that this boy is really just a baby! He’s eager to connect, loves to work, and is already showing us just how much potential he has. Rocky has graduated from our program, and is one smart boy!
