He was surrendered in Georgia along with five other dogs, and while he arrived underweight, it’s clear he’s full of love and resilience. No one knows exactly what he went through, but his gentle, trusting nature speaks volumes. Modelo loves meeting new people and happily soaks up attention, pets, and treats. According to his former owner in Georgia, he is good with kids, other dogs, and even cats. He is also house trained, making him an easy addition to a home. Maxwell is a handsome and affectionate 7-year-old German Shepherd who weighs about 80 pounds and has been fully vetted. He arrived at the shelter in October 2025 when his owner was arrested and Maxwell had nowhere else to go. Despite this tough start, Maxwell is a friendly and generous soul. He’s great with kids and absolutely LOVES to play Fetch—really, he ALWAYS wants to play ball. Here's what a shelter employee said about Max, " Max is fixated on balls. He locks in on them and if he sees one, there’s nothing else that will interest him. Even just carrying it around in his mouth makes him happy, but he prefers to play Fetch. He’s an expert retriever and can literally be happy chasing the ball for more than an hour." Maxwell is housebroken and walks nicely on a leash, making him a reliable and easygoing companion for daily adventures. He spent some time in a foster home where he was a perfect gentleman. Maxwell also gets along well with the other dogs he has met at the shelter. And his goofy, enthusiastic personality is sure to bring smiles to any family. Story

We rescued Trooper about a year and a half ago in July of 2024. His previous owner had to re-home him due to work relocation and could not bring him. Trooper took time to get adjusted to the new home. It was stressful for us as he was not eating, constantly urinating in the house, and going through the garbage. Those problems were solved within a few weeks. He is much easier to be around women than men. He is great with me but he definitely has more of an attachment to my fiance. We recently had a baby and Trooper has had jealousy issues when it comes to her holding the baby. He is not showing aggression, but he's become worked up and will try to bump the baby from her arms and its become a risk we are not willing to take. We have an 11 and 15 year old in the house which he is fine with. He butts heads with the cat as well, playfully. He needs owner who can provide training and the attention he deserves. He is playful and energetic.
