Story
Our boy Easy Ryder is a handsome Shepherd mix that is young at just 18 months of age and 75 pounds of strength and muscle.  This intelligent boy is so much fun as he is filled with curiosity and a depth of intense observations that allows him to miss “nothing” that is going on around him.  This boy really loves the girls and so if he was going to live with another dog existing in a family, we would say girls only.  He is OK with cats but a little too curious for us to be totally comfortable that he would not chase.  He has been trained with lots of the things you want a dog to know about; crate trained, good on a leash and he loves long walks or a jogging companion.  This boy would be a great sidekick to ride around in your truck or SUV as you make your rounds and errands in life.  Easy Ryder needs a strong leader and a fenced yard would be truly a needed bonus to have an easy time with his exercise time and bathroom breaks.  If you are interested, please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 3, 2023, 6:04 pm

Story
Babe came in as a stray in rural Tennessee and she was just barely 6-7 months old.  Now she is right at a year and this Shepherd mix girl is filled out and full of fun and curiosity in her personality.  She weighs about 50 pounds now and she is an easy dog to meet with no anxiety or shyness showing.  She has the prettiest blue eyes and the biggest heart and love in meeting dogs and even cats that she tries to befriend. When someone new arrives she will confidently come up and check you out.  She loves to play with toys and especially balls!!!  She is healthy, happy and would need someone that will keep her active and mentally stimulated to learn things.  A smart dog needs things to do that are new every once in a while.   We think that Babe would make some person, couple or family a very good lifetime companion to share life with.   Could that be you!????    ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 3, 2023, 6:04 pm

Story
Freda is a very loving and calm German Shepherd girl that, despite the humans that have let her down so many times, she still wants to be by your side and loving you.  This girl is a purebred Shepherd and she is such a special, gentle soul.  She came from a KY high kill shelter and was adopted out from the shelter in 2022 to a man that intended to breed her, and the reason why we run to the shelters sometimes to get these purebred dogs out of harm’s way.  But thankfully Freda was not a dog that came in to heat and very soon the man grew tired of waiting and decided to take her BACK to the shelter and turn her in.  She wasn’t producing for him.  We are so happy about this!  Truly she was destined to be in the hands of a good rescue that would make sure she was spayed.  Freda is gentle, sweet, not overly anxious like some Shepherds can be and she is kind in her temperament.  She is 7 years old and 70 pounds.  We are praying for a special home for her and a happily ever after ending to her life.  Would that be with you?   Contact us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.    Place her with the most caring and GSD savvy family.   This girl is 7 years old and 70 pounds.  She has not led a cushy life and CCR had to do a lot of extra vetting to get her to a healthy place.   She had benign mammary tumors removed and no sign of cancer, spayed, heartworm negative, and dewormed.  She is ready for that comfortable dog bed by the fireplace, sleeping at the foot of someone’s bed, roaming a spacious backyard that offers her grass, bunny rabbits to chase and maybe other dogs to play with.  She is a jewel with a spirit of grace and forgiveness for all the poor care from the humans that went before us at Critter Cavalry Rescue.  Funny how the dogs can forgive so easily and humans cannot.  We are seeking a Cinderella Story for Freda.  Do you have the magical Prince Charming carriage to carry her off into the sunset to a new home?  If so please contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   She is ready and has her slippers fitting just perfectly!            PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 3, 2023, 6:04 pm

Story
If you are looking for a wonderful mature German Shepherd who is loving and gentle and easy to have around, then Addie is your girl!  This sweetheart is loving and somewhat energetic for an 8 year old German Shepherd. She believes that her mission in life is to fetch and bring it back for you to throw it again.  She will fetch for hours if you’re up for it and your arm or chucker throw will hold out! She is so smart and her funny talent is watching TV and barking at the animals on the screen. She is quick to love anyone who gives her attention or plays with her. Addie is also content to lounge around the house during the day and is a great door sensory alarm. She was an owner surrender because the growing family didn’t have the time to care or spend with her.  A toddler of 2 years was taking all their time and attention and Addie was just kicked aside. She is looking for a single dog household with no young children. She wants to be the only child receiving your undivided love and attention. She is fine with other dogs but doesn’t care to live with them inside her home…if you ask her that’s what she would say!  Someone with German Shepherd experience would be perfect.   She has years to go and tons of love to give.  Please consider Addie…she is the perfect German Shepherd girl.  And she will need some pain meds now and again and Glucosamine with Chondroitin every day for joints.  She is a large breed and the joints breakdown sooner due to the weight of large breeds.  Please contact us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested in this beauty.   One footnote…she is not a fan of car rides.   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 3, 2023, 6:04 pm

Story
We would love to introduce our precious black German Shepherd girl called Midnight Gem.  This 9 year old beauty is petite and the nicest girl on a leash and a low key personality.   This 9 year old is 55 pounds and has a beautiful conformation and posing style. She loves other dogs and has only not gotten along with one grumpy 9 year old Chihuahua at the foster home.  He pushed the envelope and started it….ha ha ha !     She is wonderful with young children and even has won over a 5 year old visiting child who doesn’t really like dogs but he loved Midnight Gem.   She is great on a leash and she is housebroken and doesn’t seem to need a crate.  At this stage of her life she just needs someone to be consistent in her life and give her a home till she crosses that Rainbow Bridge which won’t be anytime soon because she is healthy and a good weight and acts and looks younger than she is.  She is not a nervous Shepherd like most can be.  She is calm, very sweet and just wants your love and attention.  She is healthy and fully vetted recently and has been given a clear bill of health.  Now she just needs the home and promise of forever love that she deserves from someone or even a whole family.   Regular walks would be fine and we don’t think she has to have a fenced yard but we don’t much about her recall.  She is smart, gorgeous and very loving and easy going.   What more could you ask for in a senior dog?  If you are interested in Midnight Gem please contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 3, 2023, 6:04 pm

Story
Brandi and her sister have been with us for quite a few months, their siblings have been adopted and doing great in their homes. She would love a home to call her own! She is currently in a home with other dogs and a cat and does wonderfully with everyone. Brandi can be shy at first, but is cuddly and loving once she gets to know you. She is very agile and would probably do great with some agility training! She is house trained and does great in a crate! She is looking for an active home who enjoys outdoor activities. She would love a fenced in yard because she loves to play outside. Right now, she is being fostered in Tennessee. The rescue lists in areas where transport is available. They use safe USDA licensed dog transports that will bring her to their new family, once they are adopted! Once you send an application, the rescue will contact you for an interview and be able to send more photos and even videos She is spayed and UTD on all required vaccinations. She is microchipped and on flea preventative. Please, you MUST click the following link BEFORE emailing for further information. GSD/Husky/Lab/Catahoula mixFour year old Dexter W. is a mixture of Labrador, GSD, Husky and Catahoula. His former owner’s parents have recently taken him in and he is just too much dog for them. They describe him as “a fun, smart and energetic companion. He loves to be near us and is a loyal best friend who loves to play.”  They believe he would be best with a family with older children or a family of young adults because of his energy level.  He has never been around cats. Story
Ogle OGLE (pronounced OH-gleh) is a 2.5 year old 65 lb mix DNA says German Shep/Pit/Foxhound ….. She has a gorgeous short haired black/gray/brown coat, which is where her name comes from - Ogle means charcoal in Latvian. She has quite a few nicknames too … Ogie and Ogels and Ogeley-bogely and a whole bunch of other silly variations. Ogle is 2 years old … raised with love in a foster home with kids and dogs and all her siblings, she was adopted at 8 weeks and now finds herself in need of home again. Ogle is a beautiful, strong, athletic, intense, smart, loyal, excels at basic obedience. She is calm and sweet in familiar situations and with her pack of humans; a family of three including two adults and 12-year old son. She adores her extended family two adult children, my parents, family friends, and our neighbors. She is aloof with new people, but if you ignore her and give her 5-10 minutes to accept you she warms up and you will be friends for life. Ogle enjoys working … using her nose, hiking, seeking prey, protecting her family she is medium engery but high interest: Her favorite toys are those squishy orange chuck-it balls. She will chase them, snatch them out of the air, and sometimes even give them back so we can throw them again. She also likes the flirt pole and playing tug. But even better are rocks. She is completely obsessed with large rocks. She licks them, paws at them, and pushes them around the yard with her nose. I’ve never seen anything like it! …. This is indicative of high prey drive so for this girl we would like no cats, she would probably thrive as the only pet queen of her castle. She knows her basic obedience was raised with behavior management through positive reinforcement and counterconditioning. She is food motivated, very clever, and quick to learn. She knows her basic commands (sit, down, drop it), plus spin, and up to jump up for a treat. We continue to work on stay, come, leave it, and place. She responds to all in a controlled situation but she can be easily distracted especially outdoors with all kinds of stimulation and things happening. She walks well on leash with a good handler, but is visibly on alert if there are other people and dogs around, and sometimes has trouble focusing .., she will pull and if allowed she will bark and react to dogs, motorcycles, bikes, people running up from behind (joggers) Ogle much prefers long hikes in the woods to walks on busy village streets. She tolerates other dogs she is familiar with but truly isn’t comfortable with other dogs, she struggles at the dog park and just hasn’t figured out how to play well with other dogs Of course she is housebroken, spayed, microchipped, and crate trained; she sleeps in a crate in the sons room each night. Her DNA profile is available to view on Embark: http://embk.me/ogle2?utm_campaign=cns_ref_dog_pub_profile&utm_medium=other&utm_source=embark Ogle’s family loves her but are seeking to rehome her due to a personal situation they not the right fit for her and cannot meet her needs. Ogle would thrive in a home - a low-traffic household with no kids, no cats, no small dogs. She enjoys being outside and would love a large, private, and fenced yard to romp and sniff around in hunting rocks lol … She responds very well to confident handlers and would do well with a parent who is dog-savvy and ready to take a leadership role with her, as well as the time, she is still young and has exercise needs that should be met. We would love to see her continue her training as she is so very bright and she loves loves loves working !! She really is such a good girl will be an amazing companion and lifelong and loyal friend. She is spayed, vaccinated, happy and healthy !! Please take the time to do your research regarding the financial and time requirements of raising a pup. Owning a dog.
