Story
Meet Wolfgang ("Wolfie", "the Wolf Man"), a young GSD mix with a big, beautiful presence and an even bigger personality. Wolfgang will be a large dog once he fills out. Wolfgang is a long-haired guy who had to be shaved due to some truly awful mats, so he's rocking the "fresh start" look right now. In the short time he has been in the rescue, he has already shown us a lot of his personality: curious, goofy, and affectionate. He is still learning the ropes around life indoors and being around new people. He is timid at first, but comes around quickly. He's already let his fosters know what some of his favorite hobbies are: watching TV, joining his human pack in a good howl, a nice play session outside (preferably in the snow), and he's even been caught admiring himself in the mirror. Who could blame this handsome guy? He's also let some of his dislikes be known. Food meant for dogs? These weird things called leashes? Oh and those chickens in the backyard? Yikes they are scary. Talk to the paw on all of that! After some discussion with the kitchen manager, he's realized the food is non-negotiable and is adjusting, and is getting to like his leashed walks around the yard. Just as long as he doesn't have to get too close to the chickens. What he's most into, though, is pets and kind words. Wolfgang melts for gentle attention, and once he decides you're safe, he leans in hard for affection. And yes, the Wolf Man absolutely loves to frolic in the snow. Don't miss his snow day adventure video, it captures his joyful, goofy side perfectly. Wolfgang is still decompressing and learning the routine, so his future home should be ready to keep things structured and positive while he settles in. Basic manners and leash skills will go a long way. In return, you'll get a smart, funny, affectionate young shepherd with move night potential and a face that belongs on a calendar. If you're looking for a loyal sidekick with personality for days, Wolfgang may be your guy. See my videos HERE! [DogName] is a COURTESY LISTING available for private adoption -- for more information, please contact the owner listed below. DO NOT apply through the GSRA website as this dog and owner are not affiliated with GSRA. Female German Shepherd, likely 1-2 years old, was abandoned and we have been taking care of her. We have had her checked by the vet and she is now up to date on shots and worming. She is eager to please, but has not had much training. We are working with her to on recall. Shes young with a lot of energy but does well on a leash. She does have a high prey drive. She is a beautiful dog with lots of potential but she will need someone who can dedicate time to train her and a fenced area to keep her safe. She has been started with crate training and she has done well with our other dogs (Miniature Poodle and Labrador). She responds well to our daughter that rescued her and our 8 year old son. She definitely has a guard dog quality and barks at strangers who enter our property. She would make a loyal companion and lifelong friend! Please contact us to meet Hazel or ask any questions. Story
Greetings world My name is Luna. I am a happy and energetic young girl of about seven months old. I am looking for a family of my very own. Let me tell you a little bit about myself and see if you think we might be a match.I am a petite girl. My foster mom thinks that I am a mix. Most likely I am a German Shepherd/border collie mix. I have a beautiful gray face with fluffy ears I have wavy blonde and brown fur on my body. I am currently 37 pounds and will probably be about 50 pounds when I finish maturing. So a perfect size for someone wanting a more compact companion! My foster mom says that I am super super smart! I think that's a compliment! I am a very intense dog and I bond very quickly with my person. I am very fast very athletic and very focused. Foster mom says I need a job! When we are out in the yard I will run around and then I will run up and either do a leap by my foster mom or I will come to a sliding stop and just look at her for direction.I am extremely food motivated and will sell my soul or do any trick you want to try to teach me for some treats. I take treats gently which is a good thing. I love to play ball and I love to just engage with my foster mom. I will sit on command and stare intently waiting for further direction. I also know how to give the paw! I sometimes utilize this skill to try to encourage my foster mom to give me an extra treat from her a little snack bag that she carries around.I have several furry foster siblings that I get to interact with and play with. I love a good game of chase (I am super fast and I can dodge and weave with the best and I can also utilize my leapfrog skills. If someone trips in front of me I just go vertical and hurdle right over them). I'm also up for the little rough and tumble play as a few of my housemates like to play tag/tackle as well. It's all good. I am perfectly happy with that. I'm actually a fairly submissive player.I do have consider a prey drive so I will need a home with a dog at least my size or bigger. No small dogs. No felines. (Foster mom is unsure on fish; they move around quickly. They might also get my attention. ). I also need a home without chickens. There are currently chickens at my foster home and I am trying my best to parkour off the fence to see if I can get it to give. I would love a home with an individual or a couple that would like to work with me on agility or some other sport where I could demonstrate my superior skill sets. I am so eager to learn and I am so athletic. What do you expect when you have a working line dog/herding dog combination? I would also love someone who just wants to run! I have tons of energy and I would love to be a jogging partner! My foster mom says that I need to go to a home without children under the age of 15. I am a super excited dog and I get a little nippy. It's just an energy outlet but my foster mom says that it's not a good combination to have around young children. Well I've tried to describe a lot of my personality traits and hopefully I have peaked your interest if you're looking for a fun loving devoted friend. Please come and meet me soon. Best wishes Luna When I get videos you will find them HERE! Please visit our website www.gsdrescue.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.

Story
[DogName] is posted as a courtesy to SOUTHEAST GSD RESCUE -- for more information, please contact SGSR. DO NOT apply through the GSRA website as this dog is not affiliated with GSRA. Meet Sandy! Hi, Im Sandy! Im a 2 to 3-year-old, 62-pound sweetheart looking for my forever family. I was found as a stray, so my past is a mystery, but I must have been raised right because I have great mannersI know how to sit, lie down, and shake! Im house and crate trained, and while I enjoy relaxing in my crate, I also do great when left out while my foster family isnt home. I love daily walks and am fantastic on a leashI dont react to other dogs and am more interested in sniffing around and reading my "doggie newspaper." Ill notice other dogs and squirrels, but I just glance at them and keep walking. I have a quirky love for shoes and socks, but dont worryIm not destructive! Ive learned not to chew on them, but I do like to carry them to my crate or outside. Stuffed animals are another favorite of mineI take them outside with me but always keep them intact. My absolute favorite game is "doggie soccer" with a basketballI love chasing and blocking it! I also do zoomies in the backyard and enjoy spending time outside when my foster family is home. Car rides? I love them! But I do get car sick without Dramamine if were driving for more than two hours. I did great at the vet and groomer for my bath and nail trim, so Im easy to handle. I have a sweet temperament and rarely bark in the house or at the doorbell, though I might let out a bark or two from inside the fence. I love visiting Lowes, where the employees always give me treats! I adore kids and get excited when the two teenage boys in my foster home come home. Other kids, as young as four, visit me at the fence for pets, and some even come inside to playI love it all! At night, I usually sleep on a dog bed upstairs, but lately, Ive been choosing the bean bag in the bonus room where I can look out the doors and see whats going on. Im a polite eater and take treats gently. I dont rummage through the trash, so the trash can is safe even when no one is home. My Ideal Forever Home: Id love a family with kids, a fenced backyard, and an active lifestyle filled with walks, outdoor play, and belly rubs. If that sounds like your family, Id love to meet you! Please do not apply for Sandy through GSRA. Use this link to apply directly with SGSR Please visit our website www.gsdrescue.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
