Zeus was rescued from an unfit owner when he was 6 months old. We are keeping him until a forever home is found. He is an almost 2 year old GSD mix very friendly and affectionate with lots of puppy energy. Zeus is house trained, crate trained, and continues to work on basic obedience. He sits, lays down and waits for his food on command. He loves to play ball and cuddle after play. He is smart and easy to train. Zeus has enthusiasm for life which will make him a great dog sport prospect and a loving member of the family for someone who is willing to continue with his training and socialization. Zeus has lived with cats in the past and done well, he shows playful interest in other dogs and children.

Story
[DogName] is a COURTESY LISTING available for private adoption -- for more information, please contact the owner listed below. DO NOT apply through the GSRA website as this dog and owner are not affiliated with GSRA. Gunner is a loyal, intelligent, and affectionate 4.5 year old German Shepherd who has been with us since he was a puppy. He is a loving companion who bonds deeply with his people and thrives in a home where he can be part of the family. He is house trained, crate trained, and knows his basic commands. Gunner enjoys playing fetch, tug of war, chewing on his toys, and going for runs or long walks. He has lived with his male sibling Scout since birth and has also been around our nieces and nephews without issues. Gunner is friendly, playful, and very devoted to his home and the people he trusts. He does best in a structured environment with consistent leadership and regular exercise, as is typical for the breed. On leash, Gunner can be protective and may be reactive toward other dogs, so he will need an experienced owner who understands German Shepherd behavior and is comfortable continuing training and proper introductions. He has previously done very well socializing with other dogs on numerous occasions while attending daycare and boarding in controlled environments without issues with other dogs, but he will do best with someone who can provide guidance, patience, and continued structure. This decision is absolutely no fault of Gunner. He is a great dog and has been deeply loved. Due to my own mental and physical injuries as a disabled veteran, I am no longer able to consistently meet the level of exercise and structure he needs to thrive. Because we love him, we want to make sure he has the opportunity to be in a home that can fully meet his needs and give him the life he deserves. Gunner would thrive in a home that can give him the time, exercise, and attention he deserves. He will come with his bed, toys, leashes, collars, a full bag of food, and supplies to help with a smooth transition. While Gunner can be placed on his own in the right home, he has been raised with his sibling Scout since they were puppies, and we would strongly prefer to keep them together if possible. We understand that may not always be feasible, so Scout is being listed separately as well, but keeping them together would be ideal. This is an incredibly difficult decision for our family. We love Gunner deeply and want to ensure he goes to a home that can meet his needs and give him the active, stable life he deserves. We are located in Landrum, SC and are willing to work with the right adopter within reasonable driving distance to find him the best possible home. Story
Meet Wolfgang ("Wolfie", "the Wolf Man"), a young GSD mix with a big, beautiful presence and an even bigger personality. Wolfgang will be a large dog once he fills out. Wolfgang is a long-haired guy who had to be shaved due to some truly awful mats, so he's rocking the "fresh start" look right now. In the short time he has been in the rescue, he has already shown us a lot of his personality: curious, goofy, and affectionate. He is still learning the ropes around life indoors and being around new people. He is timid at first, but comes around quickly. He's already let his fosters know what some of his favorite hobbies are: watching TV, joining his human pack in a good howl, a nice play session outside (preferably in the snow), and he's even been caught admiring himself in the mirror. Who could blame this handsome guy? He's also let some of his dislikes be known. Food meant for dogs? These weird things called leashes? Oh and those chickens in the backyard? Yikes they are scary. Talk to the paw on all of that! After some discussion with the kitchen manager, he's realized the food is non-negotiable and is adjusting, and is getting to like his leashed walks around the yard. Just as long as he doesn't have to get too close to the chickens. What he's most into, though, is pets and kind words. Wolfgang melts for gentle attention, and once he decides you're safe, he leans in hard for affection. And yes, the Wolf Man absolutely loves to frolic in the snow. Don't miss his snow day adventure video, it captures his joyful, goofy side perfectly. Wolfgang is still decompressing and learning the routine, so his future home should be ready to keep things structured and positive while he settles in. Basic manners and leash skills will go a long way. In return, you'll get a smart, funny, affectionate young shepherd with move night potential and a face that belongs on a calendar. If you're looking for a loyal sidekick with personality for days, Wolfgang may be your guy. See my videos HERE! [DogName] is a COURTESY LISTING available for private adoption -- for more information, please contact the owner listed below. DO NOT apply through the GSRA website as this dog and owner are not affiliated with GSRA. Rescue from neglect from my mother, when she went into the hospital unresponsive. Luca and other pets found after being on their own for 3 days. Currently being housed in an apartment with another dog and cat. -Friendly but vocal when meeting new dogs. Likes to play, does well at dog parks. He is smart, will adjust play level per companion. He does walk over small dogs. Met children in his first foster from infant to 13. 3 kids. Plays well, however it was noted he is large and clumsy around new horns so not ideal. He enjoy chasing balls, does not return them well. Really enjoys being able to run! Great recall off leash, very bad onleash and suspect he was not trained with one prior to rescue. Cute head tilt is constant. He is eager to please and likes to learn. Unfortunately sit is law down currently, still work on that with everything else. He does like to cuddle, needs couch time. He is house trained. He will be your shadow.
