Hi! I’m Wren ♥️ Let me tell you my story 📚 I used to have a friend named Winnie 😔 Out on the streets, it was always me and her together. We slept curled up against each other at night because it was cold and scary, and we only had each other. She was sicker than I understood, but I stayed close anyway. She was my safety, my family, my whole world 🌎 People finally tried to help us. They fought for Winnie 😔 They rushed her to emergency care and hoped maybe love had found us in time. But sometimes life is cruel to dogs who have been forgotten for too long, and Winnie didn’t make it. She did get to experience six days of a warm home and love 🥹 I don’t really understand where she went. I just know one minute she was beside me, and then suddenly I was alone 😔 After Winnie died, I ended up at the shelter. Loud noises, strange people, and so many barking dogs, I was terrified. I kept waiting for her to come back for me, but she never did 💔 That’s when they decided to save me too. They named me Wren, but the truth is I think I’m here because people saw how much Winnie mattered. They didn’t want her story to end with both of us being lost. So in honor of her, they tagged me and promised my life would mean something too 🥹 I’m safe now. I am fully vetted, I am fed, I am warm. But I’m still learning how to stop being afraid all the time 🥺 I’m very shy when I meet new people. I want to trust you, I really do, but the world hasn’t always been kind to me. Sometimes I hang back and just watch quietly, trying to figure out if I’m safe. But if you are patient with me, something soft begins to happen. I’ll start following you from room to room. I’ll lie nearby just because being close to you feels nice. I’ll look at you with my whole heart once I realize you aren’t going to hurt me. I like other dogs. They make me feel calmer. I’m gentle, quiet, and honestly just looking for a place where nobody expects me to be perfect right away ♥ I know I’m not the easiest dog in the world 😔 I may not run into your arms the first day we meet. I may need time to learn what love feels like when it’s safe and permanent. But I promise once I trust you, I will love you in the quietest, deepest way. I survived the streets. I survived losing Winnie. Now I’m just hoping there’s someone out there who will choose me 🥹 Not because they pity me, but because they see me. Update: Rayne is in a fantastic foster home and she is doing wonderful! Now all she needs is her forever home! Meet Rayne!! Rayne is a 3-yr old (birthday 1/22/23) beautiful GSD weighing 76 lbs. Rayne is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows all her commands (sit, stay, down). She is very smart. Rayne does doggie daycare and is great with all dogs and people she meets. Typical of a young GSD, she needs mental stimulation and exercise, so a fenced in yard (not electric) and an active owner would be best for Rayne. Rayne was already spayed and microchipped, and we had all her vaccinations updated; she is current with vaccinations. We also had her tested for HW and the 4DX was negative. If you are interested in Rayne, please submit an online application so we can learn a little about you to make sure Rayne would be a good match for you and your family. We do not do out of state adoptions, due to our trial adoption process. Meet Dodger. He was saved from an overcrowded shelter where he was at risk of euthanasia. He is now fully vetted, neutered and all vaccines. Dodger did test positive for Ehrlichia before he came to us and was put on a regimen of doxycycline. He should need no further treatment and has no symptoms. He loves to play with other dogs and would benefit from another dog in the household. Not yet sure on cats. He is a friendly guy but young children may not be a good fit due to his exuberance . I do prefer a fenced yard for Dodger so he can play and burn off energy. His foster dad has been working on commands with him and Dodger is a quick learner and doing great. This is Pacho, he is a pure breed german shepherd. He is NOT AKC registered. He is NOT neutered. He is turning 2, born on 6/27/24 Training level: crate trained, potty trained, house trained, understands basic commands. Leash trained, will take off if you unleash him 😅 Med History: UTD on everything, will provide vet info at time of rehoming. Temperament: extremely active, LOVES playing fetch inside, gets zoomies still, he is very loving towards HIS person. He is protective of his home. Pacho enjoys going for walks, usually do about 3 miles a day on leash. Predatorial, will chase after deer, racoons -- not so much squirrels or anything small. Recommendations: as his person, I HIGHLY recommend Pacho goes to a home where there aren't any young children because he gets jealous. Teens ok. Female dogs ok. No other male dogs, he will fight them, speaking from experience. This honestly pains me to have to rehome him, but I am so busy with work he deserves his freedom and attention.
