Zara joined our family at 8 weeks old after we adopted her from our local APL, where she was already spayed. At the time, my job allowed me to bring her to work with me, so she grew up very well socialized and comfortable around people from a young age. She has always been surrounded by family and companionship. Zara is a German Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog mix—smart, loyal, and high energy. She loves being around her people and does best with structure and purpose. She has lived with cats and has never been aggressive toward them, though her herding instincts do cause her to chase and fixate on them at times. Zara is the only dog in our home but has done well with other dogs in the past. She previously spent time around multiple dogs and generally got along well, though she does best with calm, structured dogs and proper introductions. She loves walks, activity, and having a job. Zara was trained through Sit Means Sit and knows commands as heel, sit, wait, paw, roll over, and go.

Hello, I’m Ryder 💙 I’m about 8 months old, part Rottweiler, part Shepherd, and 100% good boy ☺️ My life started out a little rough 😔 Houston streets ➝ loud shelter ➝ euthanasia list. My floppy ears heard a lot of noise and my soft eyes saw some not so nice things, so I’ll admit it made me a sensitive guy. Think emotional support dog who also steals your socks 🧦 just kidding, the only thing I’ll steal is your heart ❤️ When my foster picked me up, I hopped into her car like, “Ah yes, my Uber to safety” 🚕 and I was right. Since then I’ve been learning what love, consistency, and full food bowls feel like and I’m a big fan 🤤 I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give me a minute and I’ll be leaning into you like we’ve been best friends forever 💙 I’m actually pretty mellow for a puppy. I enjoy my chaos in short, scheduled bursts followed by long naps 💤 I’m goofy, smart, loyal to my core, and already practicing for my future role as your shadow ☺️ I live with my foster brothers, a Labradoodle and a Beagle mix, and I’m obsessed with other dogs of all sizes. This sweet boy came to the rescue very underweight, and thanks to lots of care and good meals, he’s slowly gaining weight and starting to come out of his shell. Scooter already knows how to sit and is eager to keep learning, especially if toys or treats are involved! He walks nicely on a leash and is working on his potty-training. He loves playing with toys, happily chewing on bones, and then winding down for some quality cuddle time. One of his favorite things is simply being part of the family—he wants to be included in whatever you’re doing, whether that’s playtime or a cozy night on the couch. Scooter gets along well with other dogs but has not met children yet. He is currently very curious about the cats in his foster home and is learning how to co-exist with them peacefully. Affectionate, loyal, and full of love, Scooter is a snuggler at heart who’s ready to find a forever home where he can continue to grow, feel safe, and be cherished. Meet Zenna! Zenna is a 1-year-old female German Shepherd mix! She weighs 48 pounds, but we suspect still has some filling out to do. Zenna totally has a German Shepherd personality and a big bark. She is crate-trained and potty-trained. She was rescued from an Ohio pound and came to us with a lack of understanding of rules and boundaries. Foster mom and family have worked very hard to instill rules and boundaries. She is young and still learning, so she will need someone to continue to work with her and be willing to take her to a trainer. We are looking for an active person or family with large breed dog experience. She loves other dogs, but can be a lot for them to handle, so they need to be good at playing! She is good with kids, but unfortunately, she does not care who is standing in her way and will plow you down, so we are looking for a home with kids over 8. She will chase the cats if they run from her, but she is not being aggressive; she just wants them to play with her. If the cats don't run, she doesn't chase. She will also be good as an only dog as long as you are willing to entertain her. She is gogogo, but will eventually settle down into a routine.
