Story
Meet Dodger. He was saved from an overcrowded shelter where he was at risk of euthanasia. He is now fully vetted, neutered and all vaccines. Dodger did test positive for Ehrlichia before he came to us and was put on a regimen of doxycycline. He should need no further treatment and has no symptoms. He loves to play with other dogs and would benefit from another dog in the household. Probably not a good candidate for a home with cats. He is a friendly guy but young children may not be a good fit due to his exuberance .  I do prefer a fenced yard for Dodger so he can play and burn off energy. His foster dad has been working on commands with him and Dodger is a quick learner and doing great. He has mastered many commands. He is a smart leaner and wants to please. He will heed a caregiver willing to exercise him. His foster family has told us that he loves to swim in their pond.  His adoption fee is $200. Story
Hi, I’m Wren. 🤍 Before anyone knew my name, I was just another little dog trying to survive. I wasn’t alone, though. I had my best friend, Winnie. 🥹 We did everything together. We searched for food together, slept curled up beside each other when the nights were cold, and faced a world that wasn’t always kind. She was my family. As long as I had her, I felt brave enough to keep going. Then everything changed. 💔 Kind people found us and fought so hard to save her. Winnie finally got to know what it felt like to have a warm bed, a full belly, and people who loved her. She had six beautiful days of being someone’s dog. It wasn’t enough. I never got to tell her goodbye. One day she was beside me, and the next I was alone. I ended up at the shelter, scared and confused, listening to barking dogs and wondering why the only friend I’d ever known wasn’t coming back. I didn’t understand any of it. I just kept waiting. 😔 Then someone looked at me and decided my story wasn’t end there, too. The same rescue that saved Winnie. They named me Wren. 🥹 I like to think maybe Winnie left a little piece of her courage behind for me because, even though I’m still shy, I’m trying so hard. 🥹 The truth is, I’m not the dog who’s going to race across the room and jump into your arms. I wish I could be. I just need a little time to believe that I’m finally safe. At first, I’ll probably watch you from across the room. I’ll quietly learn your routine and listen to your voice. Then one day, you’ll notice I’m following you into the kitchen. The next day, I’ll choose to nap nearby. Before long, you’ll catch me looking at you with my whole heart, and you’ll realize you’ve earned something incredibly special. My trust. I don’t get snappy when I’m scared. I don’t lash out. If something feels overwhelming, I simply step away and wait until I feel safe again. After spending so much of my life surviving, I’m still learning that love doesn’t disappear overnight. The good news is I’m already house trained, crate trained, and I walk nicely on a leash. I also happen to think treats are pretty wonderful, so I’m always happy to learn when snacks are involved. 😋 I love other dogs, too. They make the world feel a little less scary, and I’d be so happy to have a confident canine friend to help show me that everything is going to be okay. More than anything, I’m looking for someone patient. Someone who understands that healing isn’t measured by giant moments, but by tiny victories. A wag that wasn’t there yesterday. A gentle nudge of my nose. Choosing to sit beside you because I’ve finally realized you’re home. I survived life on the streets. I survived losing the only family I had. Now I’m ready for something I’ve never really had before. A family that’s forever. 😊 If you choose me, I can’t promise to love you loudly right away. But I can promise that when my heart finally belongs to you, it will be the quietest, deepest, most grateful kind of love you’ve ever known. Maybe Winnie was always meant to save me. 🥹 Maybe her story is the reason mine gets to have a happy ending. Love, Wren 🤍 https://www.realrottweilerrescue.com/dogs/wren-vnnf

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet our little bear, Sammy! She spent her whole life as an outdoor farm dog in Amish country, and was surrendered after her previous owner had children and no longer had enough time to spend with her. True to her breed, Sammy's one smart cookie and adapted to home life AMAZINGLY fast! She picked up crate and house training lickety split, and quickly decided the indoor life was for her! She's well mannered and a quick learner, and has been a lovely house guest! She doesn't have any anxiety when alone, and quietly naps in her crate like a good girl. She gets along perfectly with her male foster brothers and loves to romp and play with them, but needs to be the only female dog in the house. She cohabitates well with the resident cat, but is a little obsessed with him, so a kitty free forever home might be best for her. Sammy is an affectionate girl who lives for praise and to please her people. She enjoys a good belly rub, and will flop over at your feet and stay there as long as you're willing to pet her! She LOVES a good game of fetch, and is working on perfecting 'drop it' when returning her ball. She's already mastered sit, shake, and down, has excellent recall, and knows the command 'kennel.' Sammy loves car rides, walks well on lead, has zero leash reactivity, and is calm and well mannered in public situations. She does well meeting strangers, and has been an angel at all her vet and grooming visits! We've never had her around kids, but based off her temperament and how she is with new people, we assume she'd do well with proper introductions and appropriate supervision. A fenced in yard is strongly preferred for her forever home. Due to her fluffy double coat, her new owners will have to be committed to regular brushing. A grooming appointment every 6-8 weeks will keep her beautiful and tangle free!  Sammy is 7 years old, (though you'd never know it!), 65 lbs, and is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and current on monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She did test positive at the time of intake for Lyme and Anaplasmosis, which are both tick transmitted illnesses. Considering where she came from this wasn't too surprising, and she's been treated and is good to go! She does have old damage to one ear that caused it to heal crinkled down, and the other is floppy, which gives her the cutest cub-like appearance!  Otherwise she has no known health issues, is spry and bouncy, and is ready to find her forevers! Her adoption fee is $450. Please click here to submit an adoption application! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 16, 2026, 8:41 pm

Story
Poor Buckeye came to us emaciated, anemic, and with a large amount of hair loss from a severe flea infestation. It took some time for us to get Buckeye back on track medically, and it took him a little bit to feel more like himself again, but Buckeye is finally feeling all better, and even though he's a senior, he's looking for a fresh start! Buckeye has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has tested neg. for heartworm which is included in the adoption fee. If you would like to adopt this dog, you must come into the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 12-4. (Closed Mondays & Wednesdays)
