Story
Jackson is a 9 1/2 year old german shepherd mix that is neutered and up to date on his shots. Sadly, his owner just passed away and his family is now looking for a new home for Jackson. Jackson should be the only dog. He has never been around cats. He is great with kids and would do well with any age. He is good on the leash but pulls if a squirrel runs past. He is house trained and very playful. He loves chasing the ball, but not the best with bringing it back. He tries! He loves playing tug a war. Jackson is a chicken lover! Beef upsets his stomach. Any food with chicken is his preference. He loves laying in his bed and taking naps often. He loves getting belly rubs! Jackson is not a pldp rescue dog, but a courtesy post. If interested in adopting Jackson, please email Joanna Huhn at johuhn2350@gmail.com or call at 215-275-7175.

Story
Mila is a 4-year-old female German Shepherd Dog. She likes exploring nature, jumping high, squeaky toys, and treats. The perfect household will have no other pets, no children, and a big backyard. Please note, that she does not play well with others pets, and demands a lot of attention (walks, playing, toys, etc.). While she has never been aggressive with people, she is quick to rough house with another dog given her competitive and huntsman-like personality. She likes to hunt groundhogs, birds and squirrels, and to take a nap by her owner afterward. She enjoys watching Disney movies; Disney’s Coco is her favorite!

Story
Sasha is being fostered in PA. Sasha needs to be an only dog. She does not like active dogs Sasha can ONLY be adopted to a home with older children or all adults. Sasha is NOT good with cats. Sasha is spayed. Christmas time is here, soon a new year will dawn, and I’m still patiently waiting for my furever home and that special family to give me lots of love and belly rubs. I enjoy walks and will do OK without a fenced yard if you take me out on walking adventures. If you have a fenced yard I will run and play with you. I just enjoy the company of peeps. I don’t care to be with other dogs, just be by myself with my humans. I am a good girl in the house…unless you leave tasty morsels of food on the counter. Then I may just have to help myself! I know Sit, Down, am learning Wait, but I don’t really want to wait, hee hee. I also do pretty well on a leash. I’m still working on some other things like no jumping up on my peeps. I just want to greet and say Hi and give kisses and hugs to my peeps. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Jolene, now called Jojo, is such a sweet, curious girl. She takes time to warm up to people with time, but once that period is over, she just wants to play or lie next to you and be your guardian! She likes to look through the window and check for odd noises as well as go to the door when there is a disturbance. As she is a husky/shepherd mix, she would benefit from a more active style. She's definitely a natural born runner! She also likes to go on sniff walks. She is not a fan of cats, as she is still unsure what kind of creature they actually are. She is 50/50 with other dogs. Jojo comes from a tough beginning, but I know her forever home is out there for her!

Story
Meet Stone, a handsome German Shepherd who came to us as a stray. Though he was a little timid at first, he has been opening up and showing his sweet side. Stone now enjoys getting pets and loves following his favorite people around the play yard. He's looking for a patient family to continue helping him come out of his shell and his loyal, loving nature. Stone is currently eligible for rescue, foster and adoption. Head to ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering him! Behavioral: Per volunteer 9/3:Stone is in the Iso room and got some time out yesterday with me. He was super easy to leash and unleash in his kennel. He did pull on leash in the very beginning but as we continued to walk he pulled less and less. Outside Stone was very good! He took treats very nicely. He tried to chase a ball but lost interest in it very quickly. He definitely follows his handlers as the whole time I was walking around the yard he was following. He does jump a little but nothing bad and it can be easily redirected. Per Staff on 8/23: BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: KNOWN HISTORY: Stray - Police pick up KENNEL PRESENTATION: Stone was laying on his bed when I approached his kennel. He looked up with neutral eyes but did not come forward. I crouched down and put my hand to the bars, calling him with a baby voice. He approached slowly and sniffed me with soft eyes. He was patient for leashing, but when he realized my hand was going over his head he tried to back up out of the loop. I was able to keep him secured, and he came right out on his own. LEASH SKILLS: Pulled moderately, but was pulling to get out of kennel building due to fear. He flinched and cowered away from dogs that were reacting to him as we walked by. HANDLING: WHen we first got to the yard I gave Stone some time to sniff around and get adjusted. He was pretty anxious on our walk, so I wanted to give him time to relax a bit. His leash got stuck on the trash can in the yard, and he flinched away from me when I approached to help him. I got him untangled and he stayed close to me, so I gave him some neck pets. He lip licked at first, but quickly adjusted and was very neutral. I gave him some space and he followed me across the yard for more attention. I gave him some treats and he did put my fingers in his mouth, but he was gentle about it. Stone sat for treats but did not show me any other tricks. After some time and treats Stone allowed all handling, but didn't like when I reached over his head, or manipulated his folded ear too much. He would lower his body and flinch away from over the head reaching, and shook his head and gave a quick hard stare when I kept looking into his folded ear. It looked a little red and irritated so it may be a little painful. After treats and pets Stone climbed up on the bench with me and sat there calmly. Overall, he's very anxious, but takes a little time and food to warm up. PLAY No interest, flinched away from sudden moves TOYS: No interest, too anxious Videos: Stone and Gaia meet: https://youtube.com/shorts/_7sSGhXCBtM?feature=share ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
