Jackson is a 9 1/2 year old german shepherd mix that is neutered and up to date on his shots. Sadly, his owner just passed away and his family is now looking for a new home for Jackson. Jackson should be the only dog. He has never been around cats. He is great with kids and would do well with any age. He is good on the leash but pulls if a squirrel runs past. He is house trained and very playful. He loves chasing the ball, but not the best with bringing it back. He tries! He loves playing tug a war. Jackson is a chicken lover! Beef upsets his stomach. Any food with chicken is his preference. He loves laying in his bed and taking naps often. He loves getting belly rubs! Jackson is not a pldp rescue dog, but a courtesy post. Luna has been with us since she was a puppy and is a loving, loyal girl. She gets very attached to her people, so likes to be wherever the people are. No need to buy Luna expensive toys, because her favorite toy is a good old fashion tennis ball. Luna would do well in a place where she could get lots of exercise to play ball or run around the woods. She is not food or toy aggressive. Luna absolutely needs someone who has had experience with German Shepherds or dog training. She is a complete ham once you are family, but is very anxious around strangers and can be leash aggressive with other dogs or people. That being said, she does well adjusting to new environments. When I drop Luna off at her Rover when we go away, she bonds with her Rover lady, snuggling on the couch and plays well in the yard with all of the other dogs. Although we have a 9 mo old baby at home whom she is very sweet with, I would not recommend her being in a home with children.

Nellie is loving and a huge attention hog. She loves getting brushed and petted. She is good with most dogs she has been around. She is fine around older cats but shouldn't be around kittens as she thinks they are play toys. She is good with older kids. She will have accidents in the middle of the night but she is crate trained and has not gone in her crate. I would say she is best suited for someone who is home and not gone for long periods of time. She is very loving and friendly. She is being fostered in Tennessee right now but no worries as we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Meet Shadow! He’s quite the handsome lad! We think he is a designer breed called the Sheperskie a cross with German shepherd and Alaskan or Siberian husky. He’s gorgeous with white socks on his feet. He gets along well with other dogs his size but does get a little pushy with larger males however with proper introduction and guidance he should do great and make friends with most other larger dogs as long as they are not dominant or reactive. He is sweet and affectionate and very smart! He learns commands quickly and is very trainable. He also takes the NO correction pretty good. We think he would do best in a home with older children just due to his size and activity level. He would knock a toddler down during play. We aren’t sure about cats but think it wouldn’t be a good fit He has great house manners so far and is crate trained as well. He was tested for heartworms and fortunately he does not have any! Located in east TN and out of state adoptions are welcomed and the listing on adopt a pet includes the adoption fee. If you are located in the northeast or great lakes area we can may be able to accommodate transportation via Rescue Riders. We use them for all our pet transport needs because they are also a non profit and are amazing! Skye is a 7 year old pure bred German Shepherd. She is incredibly loving and such a good dog. She loves everyone she meets and every dog she has been introduced to so far. She can be jumpy when she first meets new people but only because she is so excited to say hi. She truly doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body. She is housebroken and well trained to sit. She doesn't stay as well :) Skye was born to a breeder but given to a local shelter because one of her forelegs was twisted at birth. The rescue had that leg operated on and corrected and she has full mobility and now runs like every other happy dog. Our living circumstances have changed and we are no longer able to keep her. We are hoping to find her a loving new home.
