Rex was purchased from a kennel in Lancaster, PA. He is three and a half years old. I want the family to treat Rex with respect, take him for walks in the park, give him baths, feed him, show him love and treat him as family. Rex likes to be rubbed, he likes to cuddle. Rex is very protective of his family and his territory.

We bought Max when he was an 8 weeks old puppy. Max has been trained by off leash canine training with an e-collar. He is really well behaved. When we leave him home alone he is not crated and has not damaged a thing in our home. He is very low maintence and very sweet.

Story
Are you looking for : Handsom, tall, loving, snuggly, cuddly, loyal, playful and super sweet? If so look no further, Thor is your dream boy! He is located in East TN but Out of state is welcome! In fact if you’re seeing this on adopt a pet the cost of transport to your area is included in his adoption fee! Meet Thor! He’s one very sweet loving and handsome fella! He is weary at first meeting new people but it doesn’t take long for him to warm up to you. He is sweet and very playful. He likes to play fetch and is active. He would do best in a home with older kids and without young children. They are so excitable and have so much energy that they tend to make him nervous. He does well with other dogs that are confident but not dominant. Scary or fearful shy or overly excitable dogs make him nervous and fear reactive. He lacks confidence and needs a home that will teach him that he’s a good boy and that he’s safe. He has been fine with small dogs but we have been told NO cats. He is crate trained and is doing well with potty training and not going in the house or his crate. He is current in vaccines, neutered and on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. He is protective of his people and his home. He is craving to be loved and love you back ten fold. We use Rescue Riders for all our pet transport needs because they are so good with our dogs! They are the best. They are also a non profit so it’s a win win for all! Please inquire about him at petpathorg@yahoo.com Application is found at petpath.org

Story
Bluebell was a dumped on the street corner where she lived for over a month. We had to trap her to get her off the street. She is an 8 month old GSP, but about the size of a feist. She was malnourished, but is picking up some weight and weighs 25 lbs now. She is very friendly with dogs her size or larger. She does play a little rough with smaller dogs. She paid no attention to the cats walking around. She is up to date on shots, spayed, microchipped, on flea/heartworm prevention, house and crate trained. She is very skittish of big humans, but good with kids and warms up quickly. She walks great on a leash. This sweet girl needs a home to call her own. She would love to snuggle with you each night. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We transport every weekend alternating between the Northeast and Midwest.

Story
Winter ACCT-A-161403 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Winter must have confirmed placement with an ADOPTER, or RESCUE PARTNER by Monday, May 13th by 10:00 am. Should Winter's medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Winter was surrendered to ACCT due to housing issues, and has been doing his best to adjust to an unfamiliar environment. He has understandably had issues returning to his kennel, and even outside, has been panting and pacing. His owner had many great things to say, including that he's crate trained, knows sit, and is a "very happy dog, loves to play and run around, loves running after toys and loves spinning in circles". Behavior: Per Volunteer 4/18/24: Super patient for leashing! Easy to walk and direct. Not very handler focused today- he was most focused on sniffing around the play yard! Did slow laps most of the time. Didn't show much interest in treats. Was interested in toys at first but never followed through after chasing them at first. Chill boy! Did need some help getting him back into the kennel but he went in pretty easily when a staff member looped his belly and helped to guide him. Per Staff 4/17/24: Winter was very stressed and high strung in the room. He would whine and scream and spin in circles frequently. That being said though he was very friendly towards me and allowed all over handling without any issues. He would lean in while petting him and even flopped over for belly rubs. Showed knowledge of Sit, Down, and Paw but would not take treats at this time., Did well meeting two other handlers. Per Staff 4/16/24: Took Winter outside for a bit. He was very stressed but allowed all handling from me. He was panting and pacing outside. I tried a quick dog meet with a husky outside and Winter remained very stressed and had mixed reactions, sometimes appearing fine and other times would do a small charge and hard bark. When returning to kennel Winter began to thrash and pull backwards outside. Another handler tried to hold his belly with her hands and Winter swung around and snapped at her. She then looped his belly with a leash and we were able to get Winter back to kennel that way but Winter continued to scream and pull backwards. Dog meet 5/8 notes: "Winter was easy to remove from kennel, but when attempting to leash, he kept raising his paw and trying to put his paw through the hole for his head. Walking through the kennel, he was low to the ground, and pulled moderately. Once outside, he got increasingly nervous and energetic--panting heavily, and darting around on the leash, circling me. Another staff member had a dog out, who was also relatively high-energy. During the walkalong, both dogs were pulling towards each other, and bouncing back and forth. Winter initially seemed interested and playful, but after he approached the other dog, he snapped at the other dog's face before they were separated. Winter was able to disengage from the other dog several times, and would sit at my feet without being prompted. He was very anxious overall, but allowed full-body pets. When returning to kennel, Winter again kept his body low to the ground, but readily jumped back into his kennel without issue. The leash was tangled, and he allowed me to reach over his head and remove it." He is a smart guy who is very confused in the shelter, he is looking for a home that can provide him with both time to decompress, and engage in enrichment activity to keep him happy.Video:+ https://youtube.com/shorts/JJEnaysSWOM + https://youtube.com/shorts/H23UeDzawJg - Due to being significantly overcapacity with animals and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately. Due to limited space, timestamps may also be proceeded with early so it is imperative to let us know if you are considering adopting or tagging an animal. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details. If you are a rescue interested in pulling this animal, please email our lifesaving team, or visit here if you are not currently a rescue partner: https://acctphilly.org/acct-philly-love-local-partnership-program/ Confirmed placement is considered confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent All animals at ACCT Philly are from Philadelphia, as the only open intake animal shelter in Philadelphia, we are not able to accept animals from outside of Philadelphia. Story
Jackson is a 9 1/2 year old german shepherd mix that is neutered and up to date on his shots. Sadly, his owner just passed away and his family is now looking for a new home for Jackson. Jackson should be the only dog. He has never been around cats. He is great with kids and would do well with any age. He is good on the leash but pulls if a squirrel runs past. He is house trained and very playful. He loves chasing the ball, but not the best with bringing it back. He tries! He loves playing tug a war. Jackson is a chicken lover! Beef upsets his stomach. Any food with chicken is his preference. He loves laying in his bed and taking naps often. He loves getting belly rubs! Jackson is not a pldp rescue dog, but a courtesy post. If interested in adopting Jackson, please email Joanna Huhn at johuhn2350@gmail.com or call at 215-275-7175.

Hi there, this is Olive! She is 5! Olive loves cuddles and sleeping next to you. Her bark will keep you protected however, she’s the sweetest, most caring pup and extremely loyal. Olive loves when you show her affection and needs a loving home with someone who will care for her. If you are a homebody and moderately active, Olive will be your perfect partner! I’m looking for someone who can accept Olive as part of their family! Preferably she would do best as the only dog, however she is socialized with dogs of all sizes! This princess needs to be given the attention she deserves. I’ve been her companion for 4 years but unfortunately, I’m relocating and wouldn’t be able to give her the attention and activity she should be getting. Olive will do great with anyone who loves and accepts her! Not looking for $ for this pup, just want her to go to a good home!

Story
We've all heard of Roman Numerals, and our boy Roman here is definitely numeral I! Roman is a Belgian Malinois who was found running free in Philly. He was brought to the city's only open intake shelter and has made so many friends, with humans and dogs alike! He is now looking for a breed experienced owner to pick him up and give him the active structured life he deserves! Roman is available for foster and adoption at ACCT Philly. You can meet him any day from 10:00am-6:00pm. Interested fosters should email foster@acctphilly.org. Video: Roman and Cheeto: https://youtu.be/x2rn-IZOfD4 Sage and Roman: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/QlnagE2-AZc?feature=share Roman loves cuddles: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/jJVF5-oLw-U?feature=share Behavioral: Per Volunteer 3/3/24: Super well behaved boy for me today! Allowed leashing nicely and walks pretty well with minimal pulling. He takes treats super gently, and showed me sit for them. He had a great dog meet with Sage, very polite even when she was all up in his business. Took him out for the photoshoot and he did well meeting multiple people in a loud environment. Responded very well to squeaks and whistles. Sweet boy, accepted handling all over! Per Staff 2/27/24: Roman would come when called and would lean and rub his body against you, almost flipping himself over. He allowed all over petting and handling with no issues. He also got a dog meet during his eval and did very well. He greets with a stiff body, high ears, and a mid to high wagging tail, but tries to initiate play quickly. He did continuously try to mount, so a dog that doesn't mind the mounting would be an ideal playmate for him. Per Staff 2/26/24: Very happy and playful. Roman seems to like everyone he meets! Story
Hi there friends, Robbie here! I'm a big sensitive guy with a big heart, ready to love. I actually came to the PSPCA after I retired from my professional career as a Canine Working Dog. I did the hard work, and now I get to relax into retirement. I am very smart, and I bond very closely with my handlers. I'm really a big ol' sweetie, and would love a handler who can not only give me lots of structure so my big brain keeps working, but also lots of security, because I can get a little nervous in new situations. I am looking for an experienced handler with a calm home environment who can give me the peaceful retirement I so deserve. Please email my friend at aperonace@pspca.org to learn more about me._______________The Pennsylvania SPCA350 E Erie Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19134Kennel #3079

Hey hey, Jax reporting for duty!I am a very sweet boy who is just nervous around new people. I love attention and blankets, in fact I'll suckle on them for comfort (yes, it's adorable I know). I would probably have to be the star of the show, so I can't live with other dogs or kids. I will do best in a home where I can live out my golden years where someone understands my duties as a working dog, and who has met or worked with other dogs like me. I could be your best friend! To meet me, email aperonace@pspca.org or call 215-426-6300 using extension 234._______________The Pennsylvania SPCA350 E Erie Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19134Kennel #3079
