Story
Carrots is an owner give up to our rescue. Below is the information her owner gave us initially. I have had Carrots for almost two years now. She has been the most amazing friend I could have asked for. She rarely barks and only lets out an occasional whine if she needs to go out or is wanting some attention. She’s a well behaved for a dog that lives her life with me in a small dorm and can only go out to play fetch or go for a walk when I’m not at class or work. She needs better. In general, she has been amazing for the hand she’s been dealt. I actually couldn’t be more grateful for how well she’s treated me as she’s grown to be near a full two years old!! I am having to part with her because she is still a puppy, and I’m a Junior in college struggling to work and commute on weekends when I have to, and give her the attention she deserves. She’s trained well. She sits on command, she can stay if you ask, she’s house trained, and she’s comfortable with her kennel if needed. She uses a harness for walks and does great. She was trained to walk on the left of you and she’s usually pretty good about staying focused. She has started the process of being an ESA certified dog but has not rec'd her second certification. Her previous owner said that she was around a child once and growled so we do not recommend her with small children. She has never been around cats so we cannot say whether she will or will not be okay arounds feline friends. She would make a great family member for an active family. If you would like to add Carrots to your home, please message us and we will send you an application. Carrots is being fostered in MS but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal friendly transport on the road! The adoption fee includes her medical for a health certificate and transport to you. We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Story
We are looking to rehome our German Shepherd to a family or individual who can give him the time, attention, and exercise he truly deserves. He is a large, strong boy (about 90 lbs) who is sweet, playful, and full of energy. He loves to run, play, and be around people, and he does best with someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and has experience with larger dogs (German Shepherd experience is a plus!). He is: - Potty trained - Very playful and affectionate - Loves attention + playtime - Good dog overall He can be mouthy/nibbly when excited, but he does not bite. He’s still working on manners (he may jump up on furniture/counters and needs continued training and structure). With consistency, time, and daily exercise, he has so much potential and will thrive. He is almost fully up to date on vaccinations. He is not neutered. We will include: crate, bed, feeding bowls, leash, harness, etc.! Please message me with a little info about your home, schedule, and any dog experience!

Story
Meet Strike DiDonatto (ACCT-A-242711)! Strike is a handsome dog who is looking for his forever home. He's got a lot of energy and loves to play, especially with toys! He enjoys running around in the yard and chasing after balls. Strike is a smart dog who benefits from enrichment activities like frozen Kongs and scent work. Strike is a strong dog, so he needs an experienced handler who can manage his energy. He can get a little jumpy when he's excited, so someone who can provide gentle redirection will be a great match. He's a sweet boy who's eager to please, especially when treats are involved (though he can get a little too excited about them!). Because Strike can get a little overstimulated, ACCT Philly recommends that he go to an experienced handler who can give him all the right ways to get his energy out. Could you be the perfect match for Strike? Meet him at ACCT Philly any day from 10am-6pm! Additional Notes: Per Volunteer 02/14/2026: When I approached him, he came quickly up to the front of the kennel with a wagging tail and excited body language. I easily leashed him and he is incredibly strong on leash – I would recommend a harness for him. Needs a strong handler. In the yard he is high energy and loved to run around. He would chase balls and then run up to me and jump on me pretty forcefully. Will definitely recommend an experienced and stronger dog handler for him. He takes treats out of my hand and isn’t overly treat motivated but will come to me when I get them out. Really enjoys playing with toys. He met another dog through the fence and had a very loose and wiggly body with a mid-level tail. The other dog started to snap at him through the fence and strike didn’t react at all. After he got more comfortable he didn’t act appropriately with treats- I took them out and he jumped up on me repeatedly to try to get them, nipping at my hands. He was overstimulated and jumping up at me. I ended up having to throw a bunch of treats away from me to get him to stop being fixated on me. No more issues after that and he easily went back into kennel for unleashing. Recommend that we bump him up to experienced Blue due to behavior. 02/12/2026: 2/11 Notes from Volunteer: Easy to leash, came right to the front. Pulled Mildly, Jumping on you, Leash biting. Walked right into kennel and unleashed without issue In the pen, strike was curious and explored. I tried to offer him some toys and he briefly tugged on the squeaky toy but when I gave it to him he just dropped it. As I tried getting his attention for a pic he started getting jumpy. It was manageable and we continued walking around the pen. I didn’t drop the leash because of how muddy everything was. After he peed a few times, I tried engaging with him with treats and one or two pets and his jumpiness escalated to leash biting and tugging. He did stop when I tossed a treat. But I didnt have enough treats to feel comfortable staying outside longer with him so we made our way towards the gate entrance. At this point, everytime I stopped to open the gate latches or paused, he kept jumping up and chomping at the leash. Once we started moving he would move on with me like a good boy. Through the kennels, he wasn’t a problem. Seemed like if he didn’t know what to do, he’d start jumping. He was a good boy, otherwise 02/12/2026: Based on behaviors and notes making Blue ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week.
