Adopters must live within 30 miles of King of Prussia, PA. Asha is a true survivor in every way. She was born in a filthy and horrible Pennsylvania puppy mill. When she did not qualify medically for a health certificate to be sold because of a severe heart murmur at just 8 weeks old, the puppy mill operator held on to her for another couple of months to see if she would grow out of it and considered using her for breeding purposes. He ultimately decided to release her to Finding Shelter and she was diagnosed with a serious heart condition called sub aortic stenosis. Asha’s litter was severely under socialized but with the help of her foster family, she has made progress meeting strangers. Asha needs a very special and experienced home who can handle her progressing heart condition (she takes daily medications and will need them for the remainder of her life) and be patient with her as she is nervous meeting new people. Asha loves toys, she loves to cuddle on the couch and would like to be high energy but her activity needs to be controlled because of her heart. She would do well as an only dog so she wouldn’t try to engage in high activity play. Asha is a wonderful girl with so much love to give and is extremely smart. She just needs to find her perfect match! *All dogs will go through a transition period after finding a new home and may need a “refresher course” in house-breaking. hi Sheeba! This stunner is a 5 year old Shepherd. She came to us from the local animal control shelter where she was surrendered after her owner passed away. She is now approx.. 67 lbs. Sheeba was clearly very loved by and attached to her owner. Sadly, he had to go to the hospital where he ultimately passed away few weeks later. When his family came to clean his apartment, they found Sheeba, who almost starved to death (her picture with the orange background when she first entered the shelter). With lots of love and patience, Sheeba gained weight and is back to ideal weight now. Sheeba is looking for an experienced, no kids home. While she allows us all handling and is sweet and friendly with the volunteers, she can try assert dominance when first meeting new people. hi Ashton, this handsome boy is a 4 year old German Shepherd. He and his two friends were brought to the local animal control shelter when their owner was arrested and the three dogs were left behind without care. Ashton (formally CJ) and Meadow (formally BJ) both came to us when the shelter struggled with space. He is 82 lbs. What a good boy! Ashton immediately became best friends with our shepherd loving volunteers. While he was pretty stressed and nervous at animal control, he has been nothing short of great with us here. His photographer described him as "life of a party" - he has been affectionate, happy and very friendly. He loves jumping up to give hugs so his future family should be prepared. He would need to meet any resident dogs. He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. During his neuter, the vet diagnosed him with Grade III heart murmur. hi Roscoe, this handsome boy is a 4 year old German Shepherd. Sadly, after his owner passed away, he and his best friend chihuahua were surrendered to the local animal control shelter. He is approx. 75 lbs. Sadly, before we found Roscoe, his best friend was adopted out leaving Roscoe distressed and very confused with all the recent changes. When we took Roscoe in, he started off very nervous and angry (knocking over water bucket/ bed) and had a hard time but with diligent attention and care from our shepherd loving volunteers, he has been improving and doing really well. The family of his prior owner and our volunteers both report that he is a very good walker and enjoys being outside. Our volunteers also noted that he is very sweet and super loving once he is comfortable with his new people and surroundings. Roscoe is looking for a breed experienced family that will help him adjust to his new home and love him forever. He would need to meet any resident dogs.
