Hi, I'm Regina George! Age: Approx. 10 months Gender: Spayed Female Weight: 47 lbs Breed: German Shepherd/Norwegian Elkhound Mix Favorites: Exploring the play yard Energy level: Moderate Training: Knows command “sit” Other important info about me: I came to the shelter as a stray with a microchip, but even though the shelter staff called and emailed, my owner never came for me. I don’t know why they didn’t want me, because I’m a very good girl! I appear to get along well with people of all ages and other dogs, but I haven’t been tested with cats at this time. If you are interested in adopting me, please submit an adoption inquiry through this listing, email mbas@montbelvieu.net, or call us at 281-214-9045!

Hi, I'm Emilia! Age: Approx. 1.5 years Gender: Female Weight: 71 lbs Breed: German Shepherd Mix Favorites: Treats Energy level: Moderate Training: Knows command “sit” Other important info about me: I’m a social girl and love meeting new people! I’m a gentle soul that just wants a family where I can be loved and taken care of. I have had mixed reactions with other dogs in the kennel, so it would be best to have any current dogs meet me prior to taking me home. I seem to do well with people of all ages; I haven’t been tested with cats at this time. If you are interested in adopting me, please submit an adoption inquiry through this listing, email mbas@montbelvieu.net, or call us at 281-214-9045!

NOTE: To apply to adopt, please visit our website: www.BaytownHumaneSociety.org This absolute Jewel is as sweet as she is beautiful! She had been dumped in a neighborhood bordering a busy highway. The neighbors all posted about her, but no one took her in - for weeks! But, then, a BHS volunteer saw her plight and brought her to safety. What we know about PomPom is that she is a young German Shepherd (Malinois?) mix who had given birth in recent months. No pups were found with her, and we searched the area for days after PomPom was captured. She was very thin and wasn't feeling too good, either. Seemed just sad. 🙁 She has now gained back her weight and her spirit! PomPom is young, weighs approximately 55 pounds, and is happy and energetic. She has been wormed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed! Just needs a good home added to be absolutely PERFECT! PomPom got her name because of the way she waves that pom-pom of a tail she is blessed to have! What's left of the tail bone stops about about 3 inches short of the bushy little pom-pom fluff that you see at the end. PomPom is a natural cheerleader!! She definitely know how to wave that pom-pom!! 🙂 She was very skittish at first, and afraid of the other dogs in the foster home; but, with proper introduction, she decided to become friends with them. PomPom is good with people; but, oddly enough seems to prefer men. She loves the Foster Mom and gives plenty of kisses; but, she REALLY is happy to see the Foster Dad and will lie in his lap for hours! 😊 She is good other dogs; but, will give a squirrel a run for the money! Look at the photo, here, showing a squirrel looking down and giving her a good talkin'-to! She does have a pretty strong prey drive; so, we believe a home without cats will be best. She loves her toys and has not torn up any of them, (maybe thinks they are her babies, now?) nor has she chewed any furniture or shoes! She appears to have been house-trained, already, as she has never had a single 'accident' in the house. PomPom is quiet and accepts whatever situation you put her in without complaint. She does not dig or bark unnecessarily; and she rides beautifully in the car. Takes treats from your hand very gently. She is a very grateful and compliant girl who loves to show and receive affection! She is going to make some lucky family VERY happy for years to come! Apply for her at www.BaytownHumaneSociety.org , if you are interested in making PomPom the newest member of your family!!

Story
This is SARGE! As you can see, he's an absolutely GORGEOUS, two-year-old, 70-pound, German Shepherd! He comes complete with all the attributes of a fine GSD; plus, he's been neutered, fully vetted, and microchipped! Sarge does well with the other two dogs in the foster home, he's housetrained, and he rides nicely in the car. He knows and performs all the basic commands. Sarge has been a 'project dog' for us. He was rescued while lying on the side of the road for hours after being hit by a car. His injuries have completely healed and he's now rearing to go!! Not so much as a limp! We are searching for a home that has experience with GSD's, understands that they are going to be highly intelligent, loyal, protective, and shed a lot! =) Sarge needs a home that will keep him active and enrich his life! You can be sure that he will enrich yours! If you are interested in adopting Sarge, please complete the online application you will find near his photos on our website: www.baytownhumanesociety.org

Meet our Gentle Playmate! Valeria is all about playing, showing interest in games while always respecting the boundaries of other dogs. While a social butterfly with moderate energy, she has clear preferences - not a fan of face licking from other dogs and will kindly correct them. With a perfect balance of playfulness and manners, Valeria is a delightful addition to any pack. Very people and child friendly and would do best in a female oriented adult home. Fun fact: Valeria`s car of choice to ride in are Subaru`s with her future lady owners.

Story
Meet Xena, the 46-pound bundle of contradictions and joy! This 1-year-old Collie Shepherd mix is a delightful enigma wrapped in a fur coat. Rescued from a daring freeway dash by a selfless samaritan and some kind-hearted firefighters, Xena is now looking for her forever home. Xena's personality is a delightful blend of her Collie, Shepherd, and Husky lineage. She's loyal, loving, and a bit of a goofball. Energetic yet chill, she’s a talkative, nosey, and stubborn sweetheart who loves to play with toys but isn’t a huge fan of the great outdoors. When she's not making you laugh with her antics, she’s more than happy to cuddle up and bask in your attention. And don’t be surprised if she confidently scoots herself between you and another dog to get her fair share of pets! Training Xena is a bit like taming a whirlwind. She listens well one-on-one, but her focus drifts when other dogs are around. Wire crates are a no-go—she’s an escape artist extraordinaire— but she's perfectly fine being left alone in the house, where she usually lounges on the sofa. During car rides, Xena will provide endless entertainment by barking at people, other animals, and inanimate objects alike. Xena is a social butterfly with dogs, adjusting her play style to suit her furry friends. Whether it's playing rough with the young pups or trying to gnaw and nudge her older buddies, she makes every interaction unique. She hasn’t been tested with cats but we suspect she would probably engage in a chase given her breed! With people, Xena is a mixed bag of bark and shyness. She’ll bark and move towards new folks but becomes wary and shy up close. However, once she warms up, she’s all about the cuddles and pets. She hasn’t spent much time around children, but her calm demeanor suggests she’d be just fine. Energy-wise, Xena is a mixed bundle. She could thrive in either an active home or a more relaxed one, as long as her new family is patient and willing to work with her. A big yard isn’t necessary; she’s content lounging indoors, provided she gets her daily dose of play and mental stimulation. If you’re looking for a quirky, loving, and endlessly entertaining companion, Xena might just be the perfect match. She's a unique character who will bring a lot of love and laughter to her forever home. Ready to give Xena the loving home she deserves? She’s waiting to meet you!

Story
This beautiful German Shephard Mix has been with us since January 20th 2024 after almost getting hit by a dump truck right outside our house. She's an extremely happy and energetic girl that could happily play all day with her foster siblings and absolutely loves to go to the park to meet new friends! She is a little stubborn, but we are working on her attention span and commands which she's quickly getting better at! We've unable to test her with kids and we keep all of our dogs away from the cat that stays in our front, but I've absolutely never seen an aggressive action come from her happy-self. Whenever she meets new people, she will just walk right up and roll on her back to get some well-deserved belly rubs, so without the ability to test her with kids here at home, I'm unable to tell you how she's been with kids, but I can say with absolute confidence that she'd be fantastic with them as she is with everyone she meets! Spayed, and UTD on shots. Microchip which will be done as soon as we're able and it will definitely be before she's adopted. For more information on Stella, please feel free to reach out!

Story
Sammie was picked up from a well-known dumping ground and has been with us for a little over two weeks. Within that time, she's been very well-mannered. She's definitely high agility and loves human attention. As she's only been with us a short period, we haven't had her spayed yet, but she will be fixed prior to adoption. She will need a high fence as she's a very tall girl and will try to escape if left unattended. She genuinely just wants her human by her side. I could definitely see her being eligible to be some sort of support animal as she's easily trainable once you spend a little time with her. If you'd like some more information regarding this beautiful girl, please feel free to reach out!
