Story
Sweet, loving and cuddling. Very calm, prefers to go to her kennel with a bone and will stay there on her own. Or will stay in dog bed. No behavioral issues notices other than occasional resource guarding bones from other dogs, never bitten another animal or human. Kennel trained, quiet (no barking or whining), BIG on pets, shedding easily controlled with brushing. She has been fostered with me over a year, moving and desperately need to rehome. Will come fully vaccinated and already spayed. Guestimated 2-3 years old. Does well with other big dogs and cats, not treated with small dogs but confident she would do good. Undergoing heartworm treatment, if adopted during, treatment can be continued with me under the animal hospital i work for free of charge so long as new owner is willing to transport her. (Visits dont need to happen more than once every couple months, typically test negative within a year, lengthy treatment, not intensive work at home at all, occassionally oral medication

Story
Hi, my name is Amber and I, along with my 3 siblings, were left in a box at a local shelter. A call for help went out and SCP stepped up to take us in and help us to find our new forever homes. I'm still young, estimated DOB 1/29/2024 and have some German Shepherd Dog in my ancestry. I'm learning so much now that I'm at home with other dogs and cats and I love everyone. No kids at my foster home but I'd probably do OK with them if they can put up with my puppy antics. I love to be held and petted, give kisses, and play until I drop. I give the cats a wide berth and I’m on my way to being house broke. I'm just a puppy and can get into a lot of trouble so you'll need to be willing to give me lots of gentle guidance, so I can learn all those big dog things, like how to behave in a house, what a crate is for, how to walk on a leash without pulling, and all those verbal commands every dog should know. I may even treat people like I treat my sibling with rough play or decide that a new pair of shoes or a table leg would make a great chew toy, so a lot of appropriate toys should be in my future. The good news is that with the right training and LOTS of love, I'll be the best addition to your family ever and your best bud. If you are interested in me, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to SCP for review! All dogs typically show on Saturdays at the Petco in Clear Lake as well. 2410 Bay Area Blvd near Space Center. The adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $190 (or $245 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Clear Lake Petco, 2410 Bay Area Boulevard. All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday!May 27, 2024, 11:13 am

Story
Needing a new home for this absolute loving 3 year old girl. Her owner is leaving for college and unable to bring her with him. Her name is Lillee and she loves to be loved, house trained and easily trainable. She knows no stranger or what danger is, every human (big or small) and creature is her friend. She does smile! It looks like she’s about to growl (2 years and she’s never growled) but it’s her smiling. Full of energy and life. Alls she wants is a yard to run in, toys to be payed with and a human to love.
