Meet Dax!Breed: Teacup Shepherd/Pittie MixAge: ~1 yearWeight: ~30 lbsLooking for a sweet, snuggly sidekick? Meet Dax, a lovable Pittie mix who’s ready to steal your heart, and maybe your lap, too!Dax is a gentle, medium-energy boy who adores his people and loves nothing more than curling up for cuddles and giving soft kisses. He’s a bit shy at first, but once he warms up, you’ll see his goofy, affectionate personality shine through. He’s currently living with several other dogs (nine, to be exact!) and gets along great with them. While he’s shown a little food-guarding around human meals, he responds well to correction and has done beautifully with structured feeding routines.House & Crate Training:Dax is doing fantastic with his potty training — he knows to go outside and is great about holding it. He’s okay in his crate, though he’ll sometimes “chat” if he knows you’re home (he just doesn’t want to miss out on the fun!).Other Notes:Great with other dogsCats & kids: unknownWalks nicely on leash, no reactivity observedNo aggression or separation anxiety notedLoves toys, especially noisy ones (the crinklier, the better!)May indulge in a bit of backyard digging if left alone (he might have a little mole in him).Dax would thrive in a loving home where he can continue to build confidence and get plenty of affection. He’d enjoy having a friendly dog buddy to play with, but he’d also do well as the only pup if he gets lots of human attention. If you’re looking for a loyal, tenderhearted companion with a silly side, Dax is your guy! Dax is currently in a loving foster home in the Houston, Texas area. He is able to travel out of state!Adoption application: https://www.this-is-houston.org/adopt/adopt-application

Red was found as a stray at SpindleTap Brewery. They had left a door open for him and he just walked in one day. He likes to play fetch and loves stuffed animals and balls. He is not a fan of other dogs so he would do better in a one dog home.

Story
Hi! My name is Simmons, and I am a 5 month old Bi-Color German Shepherd Dog (GSD) puppy looking for my forever home! As you can see in my photos, I am strikingly good looking. I am almost as well behaved as I am good looking, but give me a break - I'm still a puppy! I love to run around and play, and I get along great with my foster GSD sibling. I "mostly" get along with my two foster cat siblings but honestly, they need to chill. All I want to do is smell them - there is no need to get hissy. I am learning how to walk on a leash and I do pretty good. Mom tries to take me for a walk every day and I have gotten up to walking 2 miles! I kind of know how to sit, and I mostly come when called. I am not crazy about sleeping in my crate at night but Mom moved it into the bedroom and I am much happier with that. I really like being right next to everyone... ALL THE TIME. I am basically a kind, gentle little boy who has little boy energy and likes to play. I am going to need training to get the most potential out of me, but I am worth it because I am smart and loyal. If you are interested in me, please fill out an adoption application - I'd love to meet you! ##2757100##

Story
Hi, I’m Kimbo, and if you had to describe me in just two words, they’d probably be "teddy bear". I’m a goofy, gentle soul with a huge heart and an even bigger love for my people. Petting is nice and all, but I’m all about real hugs! I’ve even mastered the art of politely corralling you and stopping you until I get one. I’m happiest when I’m with my family. If I cry or howl when we’re apart, it’s not because I’m scared, it's because I love deeply and my heart just wants us all together. I’m a very chill, loyal guy who thrives on closeness and connection. One thing to know about me: stairs aren’t my thing, so I’d prefer a cozy single-story home where I can relax and stay safe.  I’ve already done a great job training my foster humans. They know I prefer my meals with a little pumpkin mixed in, that I expect hugs when they get home, and that my dog bed belongs tucked into the corner — just the way I like it. Because my heart is so big, I’m looking for a family who will truly welcome me as a full member of the pack. I give a lot of love and affection and need that same energy right back. If you’re the kind of family who loves daily snuggles, closeness, and a devoted companion, I promise I’ll be your most loyal teddy bear for life! ##2560522##

Story
Hello! My name's Poppy and I am one of the 8 puppies from the sping litter. I am an outgoing pup who wants to have lots of fun! I love to chase after my foster siblings. I like to talk a lot and am very curious about the world. I am potty trained and I already know Sit and Crate. I like my crate so much, I take naps in it all on my own. My foster family has a cat that I am very curious about and bark at, but I listen when I'm told to leave the cat alone. I'm super smart and will be easy to train. I will be a fun addition to your home and will love to keep you on your toes! ##2718665##

Story
LOVES RESTAURANT PATIOS TO GET ATTENTION AND PUP CUPS  Est. DOB 4/8/18, weight 62 lbs. Beautiful Lucy, a gentle, loving girl who is great with children, enjoys car rides and walks in the neighborhood where she is on squirrel patrol! She especially enjoys going with her mom to dog-friendly café’s with outdoor seating where she gets to soak up the wait-staff’s attention and perhaps have a pup cup. She loves playing tug-of-war in the backyard with any dog toy, and she occasionally goes to the dog park and doggy day care. Lucy is looking for a new home now that her mom has downsized to an apartment and no longer has a backyard for Lucy to run around in. She was rescued from the street -- a car wash to be exact -- when she was just a youngster and has lived with a small dog ever since.  Lucy’s ideal home would be with a family who would include her in family outings such as trips to the kid’s baseball games or walks along the bayou walking trails. At the end of a busy day, she loves nothing more than relaxing and some quiet downtime with her people. She would enjoy living with another easygoing, calm, small/medium-sized dog friend. Or she could be a solo girl, but no cats, please.   HOPE ID D26-0225-0013 Lucy’s $200 adoption fee includes the spay, vaccines, microchip, negative heartworm test, negative fecal test, and monthly prevention for heartworms and fleas.  To apply online, go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php.  Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt from us but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started. If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site Lucy will be at this weekend, email us at lisagilchrist16@gmail.com and a volunteer will get back to you.
