Story
This lovely lady`s name is Lynette She`s gorgeous! She really enjoys playing fetch - be it with toys or a ball. She prefers to run around and play with the toy by herself for a while rather than bringing it back though. Squeaky toys are also really fun for her. She has indicated that she`d do best in a home without cats. No feline friends for this pretty girl! She loves people though, and enjoys taking a break from playing to be pet. She has an average energy level and is happy to entertain herself…but if you`re available she`d love some cuddle time! Lynette has also gotten along well with other dogs in shelter playgroups. She`s a playful girl, and sometimes she can get a little rowdy, so she gets along best with dogs that don`t mind her play style. Lynette defiantly knows what a leash is and will come to you from across the play yard so you can put it on her. She also enjoys a dip in a doggy pool to cool down.

Story
I’m sure you can tell where this handsome boy’s name came from. His ice blue eyes of course! Iceberg is a 2YO German Shepherd mix who came into the shelter as a stray on 11/18/23. He definitely had a family at some point as he came in wearing a shock collar, but unfortunately he had no owner information on him and no one came looking for him. Iceberg is the perfect blend of independent and affectionate. He’s really good at matching your vibe! He typically has an average energy level but is happy to settle down by your side after some exercise. He was previously short term fostered and we’re told he likes to stay by your side whenever possible! He’s lived well with both kids and another dog in a short term foster home, but cats don’t seem to be for him. He’d probably do best in a home without any feline friends.

He may not have a TV show like Scooby Doo, but our super Scoob would love to have lots of friends to have adventures with like Scooby did! Scoob promises he’s braver…but lets not test that on any monsters or ghosts! Scoob is on par with Scooby Doo when it comes to his love of treats though! They’re a great way to motivate him and gain his focus. He doesn’t know any tricks yet, but with training he’d be sure to pick them up soon. Scoob is a very friendly boy who loves to be pet and has an average energy level.

Liberty is full of so much love! She’ll happily share it with everyone she meets. She’s got plenty to go around and has the makings of a real cuddle bug. She’ll happily stay by your side for as long as you’ll pet her. In fact, if you pet her and then stop she’ll nudge you with her paw or give you kisses to remind you that she’s there and waiting. She also LOVES getting her belly rubbed. Liberty is a calm girl with a lower energy level. She’s very polite and gentle too. She walks well on a leash without pulling and seems to already be potty trained. She also already knows how to sit on command.

Elaine is a great leash walker and goes in and out of her crate very easily. She’s a super sweet girl who wants to befriend every person she’s every met. She has a higher energy level and is very playful. She loves toys and running around with them. She’ll also bat them around and play all by herself. She does catch the zoomies often and loves to go at top speeds to burn off energy. The girl loves her treats, and they make her very happy. She already knows how to sit on command for one, and she takes them gently from your hand.

Story
Ellie is a very sweet dog, she is highly affectionate and alert. I received her from a friend who couldn't keep her any longer, I thought she would be great for my home alongside my Golden Retriever who is 7. This dog has caused damage to my house and yard that is just too much to bear, and she is still not house-broken. I did an Embark DNA test on her, she is 81% German Shepherd and 19% Siberian Husky. She is a beautiful dog, but she needs an owner who will be taking her on runs/walks and adventures constantly, and I just cannot do so with all that our family has going on at the moment. She has not bitten anybody, and loves to be cuddled and pet.

Story
Est DOB: 1/8/22, GSD mix, male, currently 75 lbs +, neutered, up-to-date on all his vaccinations, heart-worm negative and microchipped Meet Haribo!  (Hari for short) This incredibly handsome boy was born into the rescue on Jan. 8, 2022.   He is a happy, goofy boy with a lot of personality.  Haribo and his sister Honor were both born with a congenital issue called Megaesophogus.  Basically his esophagus is too large to move food adequately from his mouth to his stomach so he just eats differently that others.     When it’s feeding time, Hari sits in a special chair called a Bailey chair.  Haribo is a clever boy who knows how to get into his chair for feeding times all on his own.   He does very well eating and sitting in the chair for 20 minutes afterwards.   He eats twice a day and has been eating Royal Canin.   Like his sister Honor,  his Megaesophogus is easily managed with an inexpensive drug called Sildenafil.  He gets 50 mg a day. (25 mg in the a.m. and p.m.)   Haribo is great on a leash, loves to play with his sister and likes to play fetch.  He loves getting attention and will nuzzle your hands to get a nice petting.  He likes walks around the lakes in his foster family’s neighborhood and is interested in the ducks and squirrels but doesn’t try to chase.  He is in a foster home with other dogs and school aged children that he does well with. Haribo is in a foster home with other dogs and school aged children that he does well with.  Please consider making this handsome boy a member of your family. As we are a foster based rescue, we do require a completed application to be submitted before we arrange a meet.  This can be found on our website at :  https://almosthomepetrescue.org/apply-now-1   $200 (including tax) adoption fee includes core vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heart worm test (in dogs over 6 months of age), microchip and registration, spay/neuter, wormer and flea and heart worm prevention while the dog is in our care. All breed and size categorizations are estimates. If transporting out of state, the total adoption cost will be $500. Est DOB: 1/8/22, GSD mix, female, currently 75 lbs +, spayed, up-to-date on all her vaccinations, heart-worm negative and she is microchipped.   Meet Honor! Honor is a gorgeous girl who was born into the rescue on Jan. 8, 2022.  She has always been a happy, playful pup.  A few months after being born Honor was diagnosed with Megaesophogus, a condition that affects the way food moves from her mouth to her stomach.   Honor is just like any other dog except that she requires a special chair to sit in to eat.  She has her own Bailey chair that she is trained to get in and out of it on her own that would go with her to her new family.  She is a very smart girl and she does very well in her chair when she eats and stays for 20 minutes afterwards.    Honor eats twice a day and has been eating Royal Canin.   Honor’s Megaesophogus is easily managed with an inexpensive drug called Sildenafil.  She gets 50 mg. a day. (25 mg in the a.m. and p.m.)     Honor loves to play with her brother Haribo, who was also born with Megaesophogus.   She enjoys walks and taking little dips in her foster family’s pool.  Honor is affectionate, sweet and silly and likes to chase leaves and toss pine cones into the air.  She is smart and very attentive and would be an amazing addition to any family.   Honor is spayed, up-to-date on all her vaccinations, heart-worm negative and she is microchipped.   Please consider making this adorable girl a member of your family. Story
***FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED*** Est dob: 5/2/23,  neutered, chipped, UTD on vaccination, expected to be a large adult  Caviar is sweet, curious, friendly, and energetic. He is crated overnight and has access to the open door crate during the day. He is comfortable with his German Shepherd foster sibling and they have been actively engaging in play and zooming around the yard. He does bark occasionally, either when someone comes to the door or also at his shadow in the windows. He loves to cuddle on the couch and human beds. He responds to his name, sit, come, down. He loves pats, treats, chasing squirrels, being outdoors. He is still a puppy so he’s learning what’s ok to chew and what isn’t. He is gentle when taking treats and very generous with his kisses. Caviar is in a foster home with other dogs that he does well with. We are looking for a home where there are no children under 5 due to size and energy level. He previously lived in a foster home with older children and did well with them.  Please consider making this handsome boy a member of your family. I was pulled from BARC and with a bullet in my hip. It landed in my hipbone but did not damage any critical joints or muscles. The vet left it alone and I am able to walk, run and have fun. I am a happy young lady who is looking for a wonderful family who will love for the sweetheart I am. Could that be you?

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Max is not going to make the best of guard dogs. He has never barked once in the six months his family had him. He is also shy and wary of strangers and doesn't want to alarm anyone. He already weighs 50 pounds even though he is just a kid, probably because of this love of treats. He is very active and likes running, tugging, toys, and walks. He is not fond of being by himself and will whine when he is lonely. He has a lot to learn. He needs help with his leash walking (he pulls and jumps) and house training (has accidents inside). He spent his days either outside, freely roaming the house, or in a crate. He is cautious and fearful around other dogs but is polite when meeting them during walks. He has no experience with children. He loves to be petted. He was given up because his family could no longer afford to care for him. He is a mischief maker and got into trouble for chewing, jumping, digging, and racing out the door. He would like an active family to do fun things with him. Please offer lovable. fluffy Max the home and family he needs. (tw 4/10/2024)

Why did we name her Latte? Because this girl seems like she has a few cups a day. She’s full of energy and always seems like the caffeine is hitting. It makes her very silly and fun to be around! Latte is a very playful and energetic girl. She likes to be goofy and encourages you to play with her. She’ll help keep you on your toes and active! Latte is a 3YO Belgian Malinois, but she considers herself a puppy at heart. She`s enjoyed attending in shelter playgroups where she can play with other dogs. She loves treats, but she doesn’t know any tricks yet to earn them.

This handsome guy is named Jc. He likes to act all independent and easygoing, but he secretly really craves attention. He loves nothing more than to stay sweetly by your side as you pet him. He behaves very calmly and gently, and seems to have a low to medium energy level. This had him getting along great with the kids in his previous foster home! He’s lived well with 4 kids ranging from a baby to an 8YO. He also got along well with the other dog in that foster home. He doesn’t know any tricks yet, but he is well on his way to being housetrained. He’s proven himself to be extremely intelligent and resourceful!
