Story
Cash is a sweet and outgoing middle-aged boy. He`s been great with shelter staff during his stay. He enjoys the simple things, like sniffing around aimlessly, and playing with his stuffies. He has an active side and can keep up on walks, but he also has a calm side and enjoys chilling out after a long day. He`s got a goofy personality and will be a great companion to a lucky someone. A bit more about Cash: -6 years old and weighs 60 pounds-is dog social but can be a rough & tumble player. He does great at daycare!-Has lived with cats in a previous home & did well-SMART! Would do great with training or other activities -Moderate energy level. Enjoys his walks but also knows how to chill. He`s great at matching his humans energy. -Loves to be by his humans & would love someone who is home a lot-Suggested for respectful children age 8 and up as he has some touch sensitivities -Neutered, vaccinated & microchipped Please note dog visits are by appointment to ensure staff and space availability so we can make the best match possible. Story
Adorable Flora is ready to find her forever home! Flora came to us as a stray with her sister, Fauna. We’re not sure of her breed, but she’s definitely a big pup - already almost 70 lbs! Despite her size, she`s very gentle. While we`re working on her jumping up to greet people, she`s always gentle about it. Flora loves people and wants to hug and give face kisses to anyone she meets. Once she settles down, she`ll happily sit by your feet for pets and attention. She`s a lovebug who`s eager to please! She`s been in a foster home for a few weeks and has been slowly but surely learning house manners. Potty-training is still new to her but she`s made great progress! Her foster mom said that as soon as she figured out their doggie door, she never had another accident in the house. Flora`s also improving on her walking skills and already knows `sit`! Flora has done well with other dogs and has been getting along with several dogs in her foster home. We believe a home with an adult dog to show her the ropes would be a great fit for Flora. Story
Meet the sweetest girl, Holly!Although she`s quiet, Holly is a high-energy girl who thrives on activity and fun. Walks are one of her favorite things, and she’s always excited about playtime with toys or tackling enrichment puzzles that keep her busy and thinking. Holly adores other dogs and would love a canine friend to romp around with. This smart, playful pup would do best in an active home that enjoys walks, games, and mental enrichment. She’s also very people-friendly and affectionate, though she can be a little shy at first especially when there’s a big crowd. Once she has a moment to warm up, her sweet and loving personality really shines through. We’re still learning how Holly feels about cats in the home. Because she can be shy when meeting new people, she would likely do best with children who can give her time and space to warm up. She`s learning some basic commands and would benefit from positive reinforcement training, which will help her build confidence and continue learning in a fun, rewarding way. With her playful spirit, loving heart, and eagerness to learn, Holly would make a wonderful addition to a family ready to give her the time, activity, and love she deserves. Please note: - Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed. - Applications can be downloaded from our website. Story
Sweet Fauna is now available for adoption! Fauna came to us as a stray with her sister, Flora. We’re not sure of her breed, but she’s definitely a big pup - already around 70 lbs! Fauna loves any and all people, and will happily sit next to anyone who`s giving her scratches and pets. With new dogs she can be timid at first, but quickly comes out of her shell. She`s been making new dog friends here at the shelter and has been gaining her confidence everyday! Fauna is working on learning dog things and is eager to please! She`s learning how to play with toys, and so far stuffies with squeakers are her favorite! She`s been working on leash walking, learning `off` and `sit`, and is enjoying car rides. She`s working extra hard on her jumping up, but that`s only because she wants to hug and give face kisses to every person she meets. She would likely thrive in a home with children, especially those who are comfortable with a large, affectionate dog who loves to give face-to-face kisses.Fauna would likely do well in a home with an older dog to show her the ropes. We don`t believe she`s potty or kennel trained but she`s ready and eager to learn. We aren`t sure how she would do in a home with cats at this time. Story
·Intake Reason: Transfer from Texas-Weight: Known with:·Dogs: Unknown·Kids: Unknown·Cats: UnknownPuppies are magnificent! I am cute, rambunctious, lively and fun. I have so much to learn, discover and explore - just a tiny sponge who is ready to absorb everything you must teach me and show me. I am counting on you to help me safely navigate the world and experience new things each day to allow me to grow into a confident young dog. That isn’t as exotic and daunting a task as it might sound. Each day I just need to be introduced to one new thing like the sound of a vacuum, a blender or a doorbell, walking up and down a step, a ride in a car, hearing a motorcycle or a truck, going somewhere to see new people, even maneuvering a fallen log on a walk. You get the idea, so many things that seem common to you are completely new to me. Speaking of growing, I may be tiny now but I do plan on getting bigger so I would love to take obedience classes to learn proper manners and social skills. I also know I have to practice something called house-training, so I know proper potty behavior. A routine and lots of yummy treats and praise will go a long way to helping me master house-training when I potty outside. Puppies and dogs need love, exercise, mental stimulation and consistency to be healthy, happy and confident. I am typically very open to all sorts of housemates; I can be a bit mischievous and may find any other critter as a potential playmate so they will need to understand that about me. I often explore the world with my mouth and while I am teething, I like to chew; my little puppy teeth are very sharp so if I am around children we should always be supervised. It is important that children learn about respecting me, too, and treat me gently because I am fragile. Raising a puppy is a big responsibility, a lot of work, and it may interrupt your sleep cycle for a bit, but a courteous and well-behaved dog is certainly worth the investment, and I promise to be loyal, love you unconditionally and be a companion forever. I just know I will bring joy and laughter into your home and cannot wait to meet you. Let the adventures begin!
