Story
At 6 months old, I'm still a youngin', but I've already got a heart as big as a field of flowers. I'm sweet, submissive, and oh-so-gentle, just waiting for the right family to come scoop me up and make me their own. You see, life here in the Georgia shelter is alright, but it's just not where I belong. I've got dreams of cuddles on the couch and adventures in the great outdoors. I'm not picky about my pals either—I get along just great with other dogs and kids. And those curious kitties? Well, let's just say I'm curious about them too, but I know how to give them their space and be respectful. After all, every critter deserves a little kindness, right? I’m sure I could quickly learn to love a kitty sibling! So, if you’ve been waiting for a furry friend to love and cherish, one who'll be by your side through thick and thin, with the softest fur to snuggle in- I'm your girl! FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.

Lina is very sweet and a little shy, but warms up and is very loyal. She is working on potty training and crate training. She loves other dogs and plays nicely. She would probably do well in a home with older children and another dog.

Story
Adira was found running at large in Memphis and was subsequently brought to a veterinary clinic by a kind MPD Officer. She was severely emaciated and scared. “Addie” as she has come to be known, quickly made herself at home at her Foster’s farm while she gained weight and recuperated. She is now around 65 pounds and estimated to be 2-3 years old. Addie loves to play ball, go on long walks through the woods, run, ride in cars, and snuggle. She is wonderful for baths, tolerates nail trims, and more than anything, just wants to be anywhere her human is. Although she is high energy when the opportunity presents itself, Addie would make a suitable apartment dog for someone who works from home. Her foster family works from home and she spends the entire workday snuggled on her bed beside her foster mom while she works. Addie is kennel trained, but she is a large dog and would not be suited for kenneling all day while family or individual works. Addie will do best with an active lifestyle and plenty of time for play. She does need to be the only dog as she is an alpha female and does not share her humans or her territory. Addie is deeply loyal and very protective. She is friendly to new people if her person is friendly to them. Once adopted she will travel via private transport Rescue Vet (transport cost is $160.00) to a location closest to you. Story
THIS GUY! Wow! He has come a LONG away since he's been in our care. He was scheduled for euthanasia simply because they were out of room. He and his brother Happy. So a Good Samaritan pulled them both and spared them from certain death. They have been amazing, becoming very social because they have been attending doggy daycare everyday and receiving hands in one on one professional training! Captain is approx 7-8 months old. He's shy at first around new things but warms up quickly. He is kennel trained and house trained and it goes without saying he's dog friendly since he attends doggy daycare! He's super easy to get along with just needs a patient family because he is a bit shy at first around new things. He's with Kip and Michele in their home in Memphis, Tn. Once an application has been submitted and approved Kip, who has been working with Captain one on one for several months, will speak to you and tell you all about him. Transport cost is an additional $185. If you would like to make Captain a part of your family Please follow the link below to our adoption application . https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

To describe this little nugget would be to say he's simply a ray of sunshine. Story
Take a peek at these blond beauties!!! They have the sweetest eyes and pretty pick piggy noses. These girls are just a bundle of bouncing happiness. They are learning what it is like to be cuddled and think they like it so far. They just got into their foster home located in Memphis, Tennessee and were a little shy to begin with but that is getting less and less daily (practically hourly). They love to romp and play with each other and are very curious about the adult dogs in the home. These two are catching on to the good life fast and seem to be quick learners. They also have a brother Sam in the rescue who looks just like them if someone is interested in a male. Once adopted they will travel via Rescue Vet Transport to their new family. They travel each and every weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the north east, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. If you would like to make either one of these cuties part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application.
