Story
Finn - is a handsome boy, who doesn't have a lot of reference for humans. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, but he is just not sure about the people taking care of him. He loves his dog friends and hasn't met a single one he doesn't like... and they are teaching him that trusting the 2-leggers is OK. Finn is looking for a long term relationship with that special person who has the patience he needs, and is willing to slowly gain his confidence. If you have another dog that could help show him the ropes, that would be great, but not necessary. ##2234670##

Story
All people inquiring about pets listed as Courtesy Listings on the EAPL website and/or EAPL posting adoption boards should contact the current pet owner/rescue/shelter for answers to any questions and for final approval and placement. Please do not contact EAPL  about courtesy listings. The pet owner/rescue/shelter and new owner shall make all arrangements on transferring the pet, information on history, vaccines, etc.  We are accepting donations but are more concerned with good homes! They've had temperament testing, their 1st set of shots, and deworming. They were born Oct 22, and are about to be 12 weeks old. They are a mix of golden retrievers and blue nose pit. They are incredibly sweet but really need separate homes as soon as possible. We might have them microchipped this week. We currently have 4 girls and 1 boy. Please call Liz (303) 476-3826 or Tonya (303) 437-6800. We are currently located @ Kipling & Morrison in Lakewood & just outside of Morrison but are from Kittredge.  January 18, 2025, 6:37 am

Story
6FT WOOD FENCE REQUIRED – NO EXCEPTIONS. NO APARTMENTS. (Gypsy is a homebody who isn't ready to be your hiking or camping buddy. Read on to learn why this sweet girl might still be the perfect pup for you!) Meet Gypsy – The Golden with a Heart of Gold Gypsy is a gentle, soulful girl who marches to the beat of her own drum. She’s not your typical Golden Retriever—and she’s proud of it! Gypsy says, “Why be ordinary when you can be uniquely wonderful?” She’s playful in her own way, especially when tossing around stuffed animals, and loves nothing more than relaxing at home with her people. While she has joyful bursts of energy, she's just as happy to snooze the day away in a cozy corner of the house. A Cozy Companion, Not an Adventure Dog If you’re looking for a hiking buddy or an adventurous sidekick, Gypsy’s not your girl. At least, not right now. She’s a total homebody. Walks and car rides are still pretty overwhelming for her, and she finds comfort and confidence in familiar surroundings. She absolutely needs a 6-foot tall, secure wood fence (not chain link) and cannot live in an apartment or townhouse. This is non-negotiable. Gypsy isn’t comfortable leaving the house from the front door, but she adores hanging out in the backyard with people or other calm dogs. Sometimes, she’ll need help being lifted into a car (she weighs about 75 lbs), so her adopter should be physically able to assist her when needed. She’s Not a Social Butterfly—At First Gypsy has been sweet to every person she’s met, including kids, but she doesn’t always give instant affection. When meeting new people, especially outside, she may seem aloof or distracted. The world is big and sometimes a little scary, and she’s still learning to feel safe in it. But once inside, where she feels more secure, she transforms into the affectionate, Velcro Golden people dream of. She’ll follow you from room to room, offer quiet companionship, and sneak in those soulful looks that melt your heart. Dog-Friendly, with Boundaries She’s done well with other dogs and has enjoyed their company, but she does like her toys a lot. She’s best paired with a pup who isn’t too into toys or is polite enough to let her claim them as her own royal treasures. Big Progress, Still Growing Gypsy came into rescue unfamiliar with life inside a home, but she’s made amazing progress. She wasn’t potty trained when she arrived, but hasn’t had a single accident since November—even during a weekend stay at a new foster home! Gypsy has come a long way and is ready to keep blossoming in a patient, loving home that understands she may always prefer the couch to the trail and the backyard over the dog park. If you’re someone who values quiet companionship, gentle affection, and watching a shy dog come out of her shell, Gypsy might just be your heart dog. Apply online at (www.lolasrescue.com)! You can email Info@lolasrescue.com anytime with questions pertaining to animals in our care.  **Dogs in a foster home will need to have a preapproved application on file before setting up meet and greets. ** ##2199371##

Story
Leo is a 7 yrs old, 80 lbs, Golden retriever/Lab/Great Pyrenees mix.  He has been well-loved, well-trained and is wonderful with kids and other dogs!  Being overweight and having some mild arthritis hip dysplasia, Leo would benefit from having a home with people who can provide the diet and exercise he needs to feel like his best self.
