Story
** If you are interested in adopting Rocky, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Rocky! Rocky's a beautiful Golden retriever, husky mix. He is 2 years old and 50lbs. He is a gorgeous, friendly boy . He would love to be someone's adventure buddy. Rocky came from a high kill shelter in Houston. Farfel's received a plea email to save his life, and we knew we had to help. The following is from his foster: "He loves playing with my dogs and going for trail walks! He is super friendly and has been been a joy to have!" Farfel's Rescue feel very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement/force-free training classes that are virtual or in-person. We therefore aren't willing to adopt out to a home that doesn't choose to offer her this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement / force-free virtual and in-person trainers in your area. We're open to Rocky finding his forever home with a family or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart boy. A family that works from a home-based office would also be a great choice for him that would love nothing more than getting loved up periodically throughout the day. Rocky enjoys his relationships with all humans and dogs. Rocky is up to date on his vetting/vaccinations and neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com.

Story
Searching for a loyal sofa buddy & a heart full of love? Introducing Velcro, affectionately nicknamed Velsnacks, VellyBelly, or Velcroraptor. This 5 year-old guy isn’t about the frills. He’s all about the simple things in life: enjoying some good butt scratches, leisurely walks in the shade, burying his head in the snow, and cozying up in small, snug spots. But what he loves most? Being right by your side. Velcro's dream? A lively home full of folks to give him all the attention and love he deserves. And while he’s been pretty decent around cats, he's a tad uneasy with other dogs inside the home so he needs to be the only dog. Here’s the tough part. I adore Velcro to bits. But w/ recent shifts in my personal life, including a divorce and a job that has me on the go, he’s spending more time alone than I'd like. I truly believe he’s not living his fullest, happiest dog life. He’s such a standout & got all the makings to bring a whole lot of joy to a loving family.

Story
This sweet guy is Michael. He's a shy, obliging fellow who's just waiting for someone to love. Because of his initial fear in the shelter, we recommend a home with older children for Michael. His prospective family will have an extended visit with him to ensure that everyone clicks. Michael has a digestive issue that will require ongoing meds; more info on request.April 22, 2024, 9:18 pm

Story
These six year old English Cream Golden Retrievers were very loved in their home. They are housetrained and crate trained. They are very bonded and must remain together in their foster home and their adoptive home. The girl is 75 lbs and the boy is 93 lbs (but should be a little less!). The boy is not always happy with other dogs so they need to go to a home where they will be the only dogs. They are very obedient and are typically goofy Goldens! So why do such spectacular dogs need a new home? Their loving owners have endured a long list of family issues that include three elderly parents with various illnesses that make having large dogs around treacherous. This has forced them have to keep the dogs crated so that fragile family members don’t get inadvertently knocked over by these friendly but large dogs. Giving up the dogs was not in the plans but they feel it would be best for the dogs to have more attention and have come to the realization that they cannot provide that under their current circumstances.

Story
Meet Zeus! This sweet boy came to us from Oklahoma where he sat for too long waiting for his forever home. He's some type of retriever mix, about 1 year old, neutered and fully up to date on vaccinations and ready for his amazing forever Colorado home. Zeus is a very active and high energy dog, who would love to be a running or hiking buddy, or a family that will walk him regularly. Zeus likes to spend his free time napping, chewing on toys and sticks, and chasing squirrels and bunnies in the yard. Because Zeus is large and has a high prey drive, he would do best in a home without cats or other small animals. Zeus is a resource and territory guarder, and is dog selective, so he would need slow introductions and may not do well with another dominant dog. Zeus has lived with adults only, and is not child tested. Zeus wants to be where his people are, and would love a forever home where he would not be left alone all day and has a yard of his own to run and play in. Apply for Zeus online at www.lolasrescue.com ##1602400##
