Story

Suki is a sweet and lovable fluffball of joy. She has never lived in a house, though she was well taken care of, but she sure does love having a house now, as you can tell from her smile! She is about 1-2 years old and has shorter legs. She looks and acts Golden for sure, though she has some other breeds in there for good measure - maybe aussie, as she is exceptionally fluffy; maybe Pyranees, as she has rear dew claws; maybe corgi because her legs stayed shorter. Either way, she is amazingly happy. She is fun, and happy, and learning to play with toys. She is fostered with other dogs and cats and is fine with them all. Suki has even met chickens and couldn't have cared less. We are thinking she might like to be an only dog and get all of the attention, but it would depend on the other dog in the home. She is a dream of a girl who cannot wait to meet you!

Rocky's a beautiful Golden retriever, husky mix. He is 2 years old and 50lbs. He is a gorgeous, friendly boy . He would love to be someone's adventure buddy. Rocky came from a high kill shelter in Houston. Farfel's received a plea email to save his life, and we knew we had to help. The following is from his foster: "He loves playing with my dogs and going for trail walks! He is super friendly and has been been a joy to have!" Farfel's Rescue feel very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement/force-free training classes that are virtual or in-person. We therefore aren't willing to adopt out to a home that doesn't choose to offer her this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement / force-free virtual and in-person trainers in your area. We're open to Rocky finding his forever home with a family or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart boy. A family that works from a home-based office would also be a great choice for him that would love nothing more than getting loved up periodically throughout the day. Rocky enjoys his relationships with all humans and dogs. Rocky is up to date on his vetting/vaccinations and neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Being right by your side. Velcro's dream? A lively home full of folks to give him all the attention and love he deserves. And while he’s been pretty decent around cats, he's a tad uneasy with other dogs inside the home so he needs to be the only dog. Here’s the tough part. I adore Velcro to bits. But w/ recent shifts in my personal life, including a divorce and a job that has me on the go, he’s spending more time alone than I'd like. These young pups (Aster, Petunia, Tulip and Zinnia) came from a home where they spent their entire first 14 weeks of their lives in a wire dog kennel. Currently they are 9 months old. Because they did not get out of the kennel for so long and did not have much exposure to the outside world, they take a little time to work up the confidence to experience a new situation or transition. But they brave their fears and tackle any challenge with a very cautious but willing, happy spirit and a wagging tail. They are extremely food motivated and willingly work through their fears, so we have high hopes for them!! Aster – Needs a home with a young female dog and someone home most of the time. Is a very fun and happy boy. He has a ton of energy and is the sweetest and most loving fella. However, even with all that energy, after a good amount of physical and mental stimulation he loves his cuddles quite a bit and will snuggle up and relax with you too. He likes to be with people.
