Story
Meet Annie!
Annie is a 3 year old, 50lb Golden Retriever. Despite a challenging start to life, Annie's spirit remains as sweet as ever. While she may initially approach new encounters with caution, her tender disposition shines through once trust is established. She seeks solace in her crate or a quiet corner when feeling uneasy, but melts under gentle pets and relishes in belly rubs when she feels secure. Given her sensitive nature, Annie thrives in tranquil environments. Loud noises and sudden movements trigger her instinct to seek refuge, yet with patience and understanding, she blossoms into a devoted companion.
While she may be timid around humans, Annie finds solace and confidence in the company of her canine companions, who serve as mentors in the art of being a dog and receiving affection. She would do best in a home that has another friendly dog that can continue to show her the ropes and build her confidence.
Annie's crate is her sanctuary, a place where she feels most at ease. Housebroken and free from accidents in her foster home, she's a model of reliability. Leash training is a work in progress, as she navigates her fear with growing confidence. In her downtime, Annie revels in the simple joys of playing in the yard with her dog siblings, basking in the warmth of the sun, and indulging in well-deserved naps.
If you're in search of a gentle soul deserving of boundless love, Annie is the perfect match. With patience and dedication, she promises to evolve into a steadfast and affectionate companion, enriching your life with her unwavering loyalty and gentle spirit.
Annie is being fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
