Story
Adoption donation $999 Age: 10 weeks as of 4/10/2024 weight 13 lbs        John Boy is a sweet all white puppy whose mother is a rat terrier of about 27 pounds and whose dad we believe was a small golden receiver/white lab. John Boy’s mom showed up as a stray to a home in rural Mississippi house and gave birth a couple of days later. Wags took in the family of eight, taking care of them, giving the puppies their  shots, and is now helping them find loving homes.  John Boy is a bit timid at first, but once he warms up, he is all wiggles and kisses! He spends his days  romping and playing with his siblings and snuggling into a big puppy pile to nap. John Boy will be neutered in the northeast when he is older, his neuter is included in his adoption fee at one of the clinics Wags uses or the rescue will reimburse adopters what we pay if you choose to use your own vet.    John boy  loves to play with the other dogs in the home and ignores  the cat. He rides well in the car and is loving and a cuddle bug. His sister Jazzy is smaller and more wire haired, John boy is bigger and has a more smooth coat. John Boy and his siblings are coming from Mississippi to the northeast on Saturday, April 13. Wags is a struggling 501 C3 in rural Mississippi where one woman cares for 150 stray and abandoned dogs, many of whom are older or have medical issuesand require expensive vet care. Please understand that our adoption donations are the only way we can afford to care for the older and sick dogs at the rescue.   For more information about adopting John Boy  please email his foster mom at mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com.April 16, 2024, 9:23 am

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introsGood with cats: NoGood with kids: Yes, older childrenCrate trained: MostlyHouse trained: YesBuster is a big boy with a big, goofy, lovable personality. He is a high energy dog that needs an experienced, confident adopter to help him burn off that excess energy. He will look to you for direction on how to be his best self.Buster has worked very hard on training and structure in his foster home. Once he learns your boundaries and settles in, he really shines. Buster is incredibly affectionate and loves to cuddle. His favorite things are treats, playing, and people who pet him.Buster is extremely social and sometimes has trouble containing his excitement. As a result, he can be reactive on leash to other animals (including dogs) and cars driving by. His foster has seen great improvement on his reactivity to cars and will need an adopter dedicated to continuing his training.Buster loves other dogs and is working on listening to dog cues when playing. He currently lives with another dog in his foster home and would do well with a playful, tolerant doggy sibling or as an only dog.Buster sleeps through the night in his crate and is good in the crate during the day. However, he can be vocal when he can’t greet guests. Because of this, he would do well in a home without nearby neighbors or neighbors who will appreciate as he sings the song of his people. He loves toys of all sorts (and is always down for a game of tug-of-war), but can become a bit too excited at times, so he would do best in a home with older children.Buster will be a fantastic, loyal companion. If you’re looking for satisfying work and quite a few laughs, Buster is your guy! Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. If you cannot find a particular dog on our website, he/she may be on a temporary foster hold. All dogs are otherwise posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application.April 16, 2024, 11:35 am

Story
Riley is the sweetest Golden retriever mix. He is 1Y8M and he was found in a trailer park in Alabama as a stray. He has been in MA for few months. When he first arrived he was afraid of the leash as we believe he was never on one but now he is a total pro! He loves his walks and meeting other dogs. Incredible with other dogs, people, kids and so far even some cats! That surprised us as he does have a high pray drive for rabbits and squirrels but then again which golden retriever doesn’t? When he is not playing with his friend Pippa, you can find him cuddling next to you. His other favorite pass time is playing fetch! That he can do for a long time for sure 😃 He is looking for an energetic and active person or couple who can give him the exercise he needs. A fenced yard is a requirement for this young fellow If interested please apply on www.legacyrescue.org/adoption

Story
Major is a purebred English cream Golden Retriever who was bought from a breeder. Unfortunately, Due to unexpected personal circumstances the family decided to surrender Major to our care and to find him the perfect home. He is 11 months old and 73 lbs big boy. Pure love bug, sweet, kind. Due to his size people forget he is still a puppy and has lot of energy. He does know how to settle down though once he plays with his friend Lilly, several walks and some fetch. Extremely trainable, he is also somewhat of a Velcro dog. He loves being near people and definitely loves a combination of belly rubs accompanied by some treats 🤷‍♀️ He is looking for his next home so please only apply if you have the time and energy to dedicate to a young pup who need the exercise but also lots of cuddling and kisses. If interested in Major, please apply on www.legacyrescue.org/adoption
