Her first owner adopted her as a young dog and adored her until he passed away. She was then taken in by his best friend, who later became seriously ill. During that time, she showed an extraordinary level of awareness—waking him at night when his oxygen equipment wasn’t working or when he needed assistance, despite having no training to do so. Most recently, she moved again when a resident cat was unable to adjust to sharing the home. She grew up around kids and absolutely adores them. Her playful spirit really shines when she’s outside, where she adores running around the yard, chasing balls, and proudly carrying sticks like little treasures. In fact, she does the cutest “gazelle” hops just from pure excitement! With adults, Indigo does best with slow, calm introductions, though she is certainly curious of new people. New situations and unfamiliar people can sometimes feel overwhelming for her at first, but once she has time to settle in and build trust, she forms deep, loyal bonds and becomes an incredibly devoted companion. Brooklyn is a 1½-year-old, 14-pound Mini Goldendoodle with a tender heart and a story that will melt yours. About two months ago, he showed up at a barn in Lancaster. The family didn’t want to keep him, and after a couple of weeks, they called us. We came right away and we’re so glad we did. This sweet boy has been through a lot and is understandably scared and timid right now. He needs a patient, loving, and quiet home where he can feel safe and learn to trust again. Lila is an almost 8-year-old mini Goldendoodle weighing about 25 pounds. She came to us from a commercial breeder when she was no longer wanted, and now she’s ready for her second chance at a happy life. Lila is a sweet, gentle girl who is still building her confidence. She allows all handling without issue and just needs a couple of minutes to feel comfortable with new friends. Once she warms up, her affectionate nature shines through. She was briefly adopted but returned after a few days because she seemed uncomfortable with the female owner and son, although she was happy with the male owner. Here at the rescue, she has been wonderful with all of our volunteers—both men and women—and enjoys attention and care. She has also been to adoption events where she did great with all who came up to her. Lila will come spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and 4DX tested. She is also scheduled for a dental evaluation and will receive any necessary treatment as recommended by our vet. Lila would love to be your one and only, soaking up all the love and attention in her forever home. Their owner was arrested, and his girlfriend and the puppies had to move out by December 31st. She was able to find a family member willing to foster the mama dog, but sadly there was nowhere for the puppies to go. Thanks to one of our amazing volunteers, these girls were picked up and brought to safety. When they first arrived, they looked like they’d been battling Demogorgons — but after a much-needed bath, full bellies, and some TLC, they’ve transformed into the happy, playful, very cute puppies they were meant to be. The pup's mom is a Goldendoodle mix and dad is unknown. We don’t know what they’re mixed with, but we do know they’re sweet, resilient, and ready to leave the Upside Down behind for loving forever homes.
