Story
Meet Molly! This adorable Goldendoodle puppy was purchased from a breeder by an elderly couple who quickly realized they were in over their heads. With the wife’s declining health and the husband juggling caregiving responsibilities, they were unable to provide the care and training a young, active puppy needs. Wanting the best for Molly, they surrendered her to one of our vet partners, and now she’s on her way to finding the perfect forever home. Molly is a fun-loving, social, and energetic 4.5-month-old pup who is embracing her new foster home with enthusiasm. She’s currently living with her foster mom, Renee, who is helping her learn the ropes of home life. Molly is crate-trained and about 80% potty trained—she’s already started alerting Renee when she needs to go out…Good girl Molly! This social butterfly adores other dogs and loves everyone she meets. She’s playful, curious, and full of puppy energy. She enjoys romping around and has regular playdates with the neighbor’s one-year-old pup, which she absolutely loves. Like most puppies, Molly has a fondness for toys but sometimes mistakes shoes and slippers for playthings. To set her up for success, her foster mom crates her when she’s unsupervised, and she does great in her crate. Training is already underway—she’s learning basic commands like “No” and “Sit” and is making progress with her puppy mouthiness by redirecting to toys. She’s also getting comfortable on a leash with short walks in the yard. Molly’s ideal home is with an active family ready for puppy life and committed to providing the structure and training she needs. She’s very affectionate and loves a good cuddle—especially ear scratches when she’s winding down. She would thrive with a playful, established dog in the home who can be both a playmate and a role model. Molly will be arriving in town in April, ready to start her next adventure. Story
Please contact Jodi Rosenberg (jodi.rosenberg@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Handsome boy looking for his forever home! Sacha NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:    Sacha        Best Guess for Breed:    Golden retriever mix   Best Guess for Age:    3 years as of April 2025       SEX:   male   Approximate Weight:    45 lbs.   Gets Along With: Other dogs.  We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   Puerto Rico SHELTER. He needs a FOREVER or foster home to come to the DC area.    Special adoption considerations: Sacha is a truly Lucky Dog! He tested positive for Heartworm disease but has already been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the adoption counseling process. Special adoption considerations:    Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Sacha would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   Sacha is Looking For:   A home to call his own! This handsome guy is coming all the way from Puerto Rico to find his forever family! He's ready to join them for long walks in the park and snuggles on the couch with his humans. He can't wait to experience tummy rubs, yummy treats, and lots of dog park visits to make new friends. What do you say? Are you ready to make this handsome guy part of your family?   What My Foster Says About Me:    Coming soon!   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at    www.luckydoganimalrescue.org   .    BE A FOSTER!!!    Fosters make it possible for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to save and care for homeless and abandoned dogs!  To learn about fostering, please contact    fostering@luckydoganimalrescue.org   ! Story
Meet Loving Levi, an affectionate  3-year-old, 55-pound Goldendoodle with a heart as big as his fluffy curls! Levi is searching for a forever home with a fenced yard and a playful dog companion companion or two. Full of life, love, and loyalty—the three “L’s” that inspired his name—this charming boy will be your loyal, fun-loving friend. Levi thrives on companionship and will happily be your “Velcro dog,” always close by. He adores humans and other animals alike, and while he’s not a fan of being left alone for long, he’s calm and content in his foster home, spending time with his furry friends when his foster mom is away. When she’s home, Levi loves curling up by her feet as she works, and he’ll always greet you with enthusiasm and kisses, making you feel truly appreciated! With his soft poodle coat and an adorable white patch on his forehead (perfect for giving kisses!), Levi is as sweet as he is handsome. Although he currently doesn’t live with kids, Levi is always gentle and polite around them, making him a wonderful addition to any family. He’s well-mannered in his foster home, uses the doggie door to go outside. Car rides and walks are some of his favorite activities, and he’s ready to join you on every adventure. Levi is a healthy boy—neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm prevention, and microchipped. He’s just waiting for a family to share his endless love and loyalty. Story
Sweet Tulip is looking for a new home. She previously lived with a family with younger kids. This environment turned out to be a bit too much for this old soul. She's thriving in her foster home (who has teenage kids). Tulip is timid when meeting new dogs but warms up, as long as she's given space. The same applies to meeting new people. She's cautious and will need a family who's able to be patient with this finicky girl. A quiet home with another quiet dog or cat would be perfect for Tulip. This girl has basic obedience down pat and is good on leash. Do you have a cat? That's great because Tulip loves them! She's a master snuggler and loves to play with her toys. She's fully housetrained, crate trained and very respectful within the home. She's a low energy gal who's ready to find her forever spot. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. For more information, please email kberger@petconnectrescue.org **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our non-binding application. **

Story
Zoey's foster shared that she is a loving golden retriever. She is very affectionate once she gets to know you. She was introduced to other family members and while weary at first she has grown to play fine with them, including a young 3yo. Zoey is always happy to sit and sleep right at your feet while you are home. She is house trained and if left alone will tirelessly look out the window waiting for your return. She walks well, but has a small prey drive. Someone has to keep those nosy squirrels from interrupting her owner's walk. She's always up to play games. You will know when she wants to play as she'll bring her tug-o-war rope to your chair or drop tennis balls on your lap for some quality fetch time. She is a bit of an alpha dog and plays well with some dogs but not others. With that being the case, we think she would do better as a solo dog in the home or a slow controlled introduction if there are other pets. Please let us know if you would like to meet Zoey A! Thank you for your interest in Zoey A! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=18579 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Zoey A, or to submit an online application.
