Margo is the kind of dog who stops people in their tracks—beautiful, soft, soulful, and radiating that unmistakable Golden Retriever sweetness. She came from a backyard breeder as an 8-week-old puppy, advertised as a Goldendoodle, but as she grew, it became clear that her heart and her heritage lean almost entirely Golden. Born on 2/7/23 and now weighing about 50 pounds, she has matured into a graceful, gentle young girl who wants nothing more than to be loved. Her original family adored her and provided her with a safe, caring home, but unexpected personal challenges arose—difficult ones that prevented them from giving her the consistency, time, and attention she truly deserved. They made the painful, selfless decision to ask for help in finding her a new family, wanting Margo to live her best possible life. And what a gift this girl will be to her new home. Margo is sweetness personified. She is friendly with every dog she meets, respectful and calm around cats, and gentle enough to be trusted with young children. She needs to be in a home of no small dogs - she thinks they are playthings. Her temperament is exactly what people love about Golden Retrievers—steady, affectionate, intuitive, and endlessly kind. She greets new people with a soft smile and happy tail as if welcoming them into her world. Margo is still young and doesn’t have many commands under her belt, but she is a blank slate in the best possible way. She watches her people carefully, eager to understand what’s expected of her, and she responds beautifully to gentle guidance. With patience and routine, she will blossom into a perfectly mannered companion. A fenced yard would be ideal for her—she loves the freedom to run, sniff, and stretch those young, energetic legs. She hasn’t had nearly enough opportunities for outdoor play or structured exercise, so a family who values activity and time outside will help her thrive. After playtime, she’ll settle in beside you with that soft Golden warmth that makes every house feel more like home. Margo is the whole package: beauty, personality, intelligence, and a heart full of love. Story
Meet Henrietta!  This sweet, doodle girl was spotted running as a stray with her siblings in Chester, SC, in June 2025. They were just puppies at the time, and we believe they had been abandoned there. With patience and time, their finders earned their trust, and once they did, the pups followed them home and into the yard for safety. For the next six months, Henrietta lived primarily outdoors in the finders’ backyard, coming inside during inclement weather. The family found a home for one of her siblings and reached out to rescue to ensure Henrietta and her brother, Steve, would also find safe, loving homes. While they are good buddies, Henrietta and Steve are now in separate foster homes, learning about home life and building their confidence.  Henrietta has been in her foster home for nearly two weeks and is starting to trust and come out of her shell. At first, she was shy and shut down; home life, everyday noises, collars, and leash walks were all completely new to her. The backyard she lived in for those six months was the only home she had ever known. She is fortunate to be fostered by seasoned fosters Laine and Gary, along with their pack of three dogs, who have helped many fosters successfully transition to home life. Henrietta is very submissive and quickly found her place in the pack, learning by watching and following the older dogs. Because of this, we believe she would do best in a home with another social. established dog who can be a role model. In return, she will make an excellent pack member. While she’s still a bit shy around sudden loud noises and quick movements, Henrietta has started to engage with Laine and Gary and is not fearful of people. She is a very sweet soul with a gentle nature and doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She has a medium energy level, with the occasional zoomies, but overall is quite moderate for a young pup. She crates well and has already shown good house manners. Laine has begun introducing leash walks in the backyard and will soon start venturing out to give her more exposure. We’ve learned that Henrietta loves soft, comfy beds and toys and feels most confident when she’s part of a pack. This sweet girl continues to blossom each day and is going to make a wonderful family dog and loyal companion. Coming to the DC metro area in February. Apply today! Zoey's previous foster shared that she is a loving golden retriever. She is very affectionate once she gets to know you. Zoey is always happy to sit and sleep right at your feet while you are home. She is house trained and if left alone will tirelessly look out the window waiting for your return. She walks well, but has a small prey drive. Someone has to keep those nosy squirrels from interrupting her owner's walk. She's always up to play games. You will know when she wants to play as she'll bring her tug-o-war rope to your chair or drop tennis balls on your lap for some quality fetch time. She is a bit of an alpha dog and plays well with some dogs but not others. With that being the case, we think she would do better as a solo dog in the home or a slow controlled introduction if there are other pets. Please let us know if you would like to meet Zoey A!
