Story
Big, beautiful Gail is still waiting on her forever family to find her. She's a young adult, around 2 years old, with the energy of a puppy and has no idea of her size (around 125 pounds). Gail is very sweet, loves to hang out with her foster parents, is very curious, eager to please and loves to play. She's good with other dogs, and is house and crate trained. Gail likes to chase cats so she will need a house without them. Because of her size and energy, a home with children over 12 would be the best fit. A fenced yard will be necessary unless you can prove you are able to properly satisfy her exercise needs in other ways. Gail needs someone who is willing to continue to work with her on basic manners, as she still pulls on the leash when she's excited and jumps up to play. Mental and physical exercise are a must for this gorgeous love-bug! Gail is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines. Gail is fostered in GA and will be attending our Adoption Event at the Durham Fairgrounds. Save time, fill out an Application to be preapproved to adopt at our event. Preapproved adopters may schedule appointments to meet dogs on Friday, May 17th. Our pets are in CT, GA and PA foster homes. Dogs in PA may be able to come to CT prior to the event to meet adopters. Dogs in GA will arrive right before the event so you must come to the event to meet them. Fill out an online application to start the adoption process. Adoption Event May 17-19th Durham Fairgrounds 24 Townhouse Rd Durham, CT. Open Appointments Only: Friday, May 17, 2-6pm Open: Saturday, May 18, 9-4 pm Open: Sunday, May 19, 9-1 pm

Story
The brightest star in the night sky is Sirius, the perfect name for this gorgeous Great Dane/mixed breed boy with a heart as big as the universe and a shining personality just waiting for his forever home and family. Sirius is following the stars north from our SC rescue partner to bring light and love to everyone who is lucky enough to meet him. This big boy is currently 76 pounds and most likely grow a bit more. He will remain a large sized (61-90 pounds) dog when he is fully grown. He is at his happiest when he can meet anyone who will pet him and give him plenty of time and attention. Sirius has never met a canine companion that he did not enjoy and is great with children. It is not known currently whether Sirius enjoys spending time with cats.Sirius is working on his house and crate training. He is well behaved on a leash so long as positive and firm guidance continues to be part of his training. Rescue dogs can have accidents as they become accustomed to a new home, new family, and new routines. Sirius is not crate trained at this time and if crate training is planned, Sirius needs a crate that is big enough for him to stand and turn around in as well as lie down comfortably. Crates should be cozy, happy places for dogs to hang out. Crates must never be used for punishment. Adopt this gentle giant who is searching for a place to shine his light and you, and he will be the center of attention as Sirius spreads his loving glow and laughter wherever he is. The adoption fee for Sirius is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.April 28, 2024, 8:05 am

Story
Laylah is a beautiful pure bred Great Dane that is 129 pounds and 4yrs young.  This girl lost her home because the other female Great Dane was jealous of her and jumping on her to create a fight.  The family could not afford for them to seriously hurt each other. It was best to have Laylah leave the home for her own safety. She is totally vetted and  spayed and is up to date on vaccines.  She came in scared and unsure of everything because of the turmoil she has been experiencing at her home.  After some work and socializing, she has come out of her shell and she loves to be by her person's side and will make a great companion for someone.  She would most likely need to be an only dog since she is still suffering from the fear of being attacked again by another dog.  She does not show fear to all dogs…but some of the larger ones she is defensive at the moment. She hasn't been off leash around cats but seems to not mind them walking by, even appeared playful through the glass with a cat in the cat colony. She has done well meeting new people but gets nervous if her secure shelter person leaves the room.  She shows this by waiting nose to the door until her person comes back. She walks great on a leash and hops right in the car and rides well. She loves to lay on her stuffies and play with her toys, just playing never destroys them. She will carry around the toy in her mouth just to show everyone what she has. In the mornings she gets the pony girl zoomies where she just yeehawws around the yard until she wears out then she is pretty reserved the rest of the day hanging out behind the shelter desk. When too many dogs are going in out it stresses her so she gets put up in an office until things settle down.  She doesn't seem to mind kids and she will greet them gently. Another plus is that she is also housebroken.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 28, 2024, 4:57 pm

Story
Mando is a big ol’ cuddle bug! He LOVES lovin’s. He loves people, kids, walks, toys, cuddles, and kisses. Mando was found at a home as a 5 month old puppy on a chain with no food or water. The owner was approached and eventually surrendered him. This poor boy is now 10 months old and has lived in a shelter his entire life. Mando would thrive in a home and deserves one of his very own. He is wonderful with other dogs and is untested with cats. Mando is a 10 month old male Dane mix who is approximately 60 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Mando is a big boy and still puppy playful, so he may be too much for small children. Fence required. This furbaby is located at Animal Harbor in southern middle TN. You can apply at www.animalharbor.org. If approved, we will facilitate a virtual meet and greet and answer any questions you may have. We partner with the awesome transport service company Rescue Riders to safely and professionally move our animals to their loving new homes!

Story
Welcome Clare to CCPAL Rescue Foster Program. Clare is a 12 week old Great Dane/Lab mixed puppy. She is already 20 pounds and should be 70 pounds full grown is our best guess. She is crate trained, goes potty outside on a schedule. She is learning to use a wee pad. She is good in a car and good on a leash. She is good with all people and a very social puppy. She is around other dogs and does great. She will have some nice skills and work since she is in foster care and will stay there until she finds her new forever home. She was found as a stray on the streets of San Antonio. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is a puppy and likes to put things in her mouth. We call that mouthy. We would love someone that loves the Great Dane breeds. She would love to tag along on all your outdoor adventures. Anyone that knows the Danes know they can be energetic and they can relax. She is also a good combo of both. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions.
