Story
Maverick is a rescue pup we’ve had since he was 4 months old. He is now 9 years old but still full of energy. He’s house trained, loves sun bathing and playing with his toys which will go with him to his new home. He likes walks, snacks and belly rubs. He listens on command and will let you know he needs to go outside by touching the front or back door with his nose lol. He has 2 older human brothers that taught him how to box and is not afraid of a good match from time to time. Not as much lately as he is getting older. Because he deserves the best we are only looking for experience adopters with room and the time to care for him. A home with land where he can roam is ideal or time to walk him several times a week if not daily. No small children as he is a big guy and has no control of that tail. Also, Maverick is a house dog and this is not up for debate. He also is terrified of thunder and lightning. He deserves a family that can make him a priority.

🥹 Oh, be still my heart -- Meet Marge 🥹When you look into Marge’s liquid eyes, you already understand who she is.She is gentle. Soulful. Calm. Quiet. Composed. And as sweet as they come.Marge is a 4-year-old Great Dane mix with an easy-going, steady nature. She’s likely housebroken and truly one of those dogs who seems to move through the world softly, asking for very little in return.Marge is high heartworm positive, but she is not without hope. MOAS will lovingly guide her through heartworm treatment once she has a foster or adoptive home. She simply needs a place to land before treatment can begin. She needs to start treatment soon, so we'd love to get her out of here. Fast. If you’ve been waiting for a quiet companion with a beautiful soul who truly needs to be saved, this is your sign. Come meet Marge and you'll see. She may need you right now, but she'll spend the rest of her life showing you why YOU were the one who needed HER. 🤍🐾Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. Story
Meet Superman. 🦴❤️🦸‍♂️Superman spent some time in a foster home over the weekend, and here's what we learned about the amazing companion he is!Superman is a gentle giant with the kind of quiet, dopey charm that sneaks up on you. As a 9 year old senior fella, he’s not into toys or chasing balls. He’s more of a soft bed, full belly, long nap kind of guy. Give him a warm meal (bonus points for scrambled eggs) and he’s genuinely happy.🥹 (We humans could learn a thing or two about happiness from a dog like Superman.)He’s easygoing in the best way. Whatever you’re doing, he’s content to wag along. Car rides? He’s excellent -- always claiming shotgun. Snow and ice? You can miss him with that. Superman prefers to stay tucked in bed, thanks. This sweet boy has been loved before and has clearly lived a full life. Even so, his huge heart still has so much love left to give, and he gives it freely. 🥰 He’s doing well with house and crate training (he slept the full night last night undisturbed) and he seems very friendly and gets along well with the dogs. He does well with men and women and was friendly and sweet with the neighbor’s kids over the weekend as well! Superman is 9 years old and heartworm positive. The good news: MOAS covers his heartworm treatment, but we can’t start it until he’s in a foster or permanent home.If you’ve ever thought about fostering or opening your home to a senior dog who truly appreciates the simple comforts, Superman would be incredibly grateful. And so would we.To set up a meet and greet with Sampson, call the shelter or email coordinator@moaspets.com or apply for him here --> https://www.moaspets.com/adoptionapp Let’s give this good boy the cozy next chapter he deserves. 🐾💙Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. Story
Ernest came back to the shelter at 12 years old, which is way too old for any pup but definitely for a Great Dane. This guy needs to get out of here and into a home so that he can live out the rest of his life with a loving family. He has recently gone into a short-term foster situation and is doing well with the other dog in the house--we aren't surprised, he did well in his last home too! It has not been too long yet, but he is doing well with the cats too. He has been a little spooked by them, but he steers clear. Ernest is the best boy. He loves meeting people and a good nap.

Story
Danny Boy was adopted over a year ago, and his family has loved him dearly. But with his strong love to chase squirrels, his walks have become dangerous for his older mama. She’s heartbroken, but he’s simply too strong for her to safely handle. Now this 3-year-old, super sweet, housebroken, crate-trained baby needs our help more than ever. He didn’t do anything wrong — he just needs a home that can manage his strength and energy. We have nowhere for him to go, and we’re desperately looking for a foster or adopter who can give him the safe, loving environment he deserves. Danny Boy is: ~ 3 years old ~ Housebroken ~ Crate trained Sweet, loving, and eager to please Strong and active — needs an owner comfortable with a dog his size and strength Please help us help him. If you can foster or adopt Danny Boy, message us ASAP. Sharing his post could save his life. Putting him into boarding would destroy this gentle soul's spirit!!! Let’s not fail him. To be Danny Boy's savior, please submit an application to either foster or adopt here: www.jaspercohumanesociety.org

Story
Meet Oscar, a one-year-old Great Dane mix rescued from a high-kill shelter by Castoff Pet Rescue. Despite a very difficult start to life, Oscar has grown into a devoted, affectionate companion who bonds deeply with his people. Oscar is house broken, crate trained, and a true velcro dog—he’s convinced he’s a lap dog and happiest right by your side. He is playful, loving, and eager to be part of his family’s daily life. Because Oscar was severely abused, he can be protective of his people because he loves so deeply. With proper introductions and structure, he does well with dogs similar in size who are not overly protective by nature, and once comfortable, he truly loves to play. Oscar is not good with cats and will need a cat-free home. He is currently in a foster home with cats and he only chases them when they run, but it is not ideal. Oscar currently weighs about 60 pounds and is still filling out, so he may grow a bit more. He has already completed professional training, and his trainer will continue to support his future adopters, including offering free doggie daycare to help him maintain his skills and confidence. Oscar would thrive in a home familiar with large breeds that values continued training and understands the loyalty of a dog who has learned to trust again. In return, he offers unwavering devotion, affection, and constant companionship. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal shadow who will always be by your side, Oscar may be the perfect fit.
