Norman is 1.5 years old. He's the sweetest dog at home. He currently lives with 2 small older dogs and he is extremely gently with them when he plays. Norman is definitely a protective dog and at times may be too protective so he will need training on that. He is food motivated and will do whatever you ask especially if there are treats involved. As a puppy he was around children and other dogs so I believe he should do fine however a slow introduction would be best as it's been some time since he's interacted with kids or other dogs. The ideal home for Norman would be with someone who has experience with Great Danes and/or is willing to take the time to train him.

Meet Trixie, a beautiful, fun Great Dane who is about 4 years old and weighs about 100 lbs. Trixie is so very sweet and always wants to cuddle. Does she know that she is 100 lbs and not a lap dog? She certainly does not! She loves to be the center of your world. She is super smart and treat motivated her, so training her has been and will be a joy. She is protective of her home but not at all aggressive, and she has become BFFs with the resident dog. Since she doesn't really understand her size, we would like to place her in a home with kids 12 or older only. We also would like her in a home with a securely fenced in yard. Bella - Female Great Dane Age: 06/03/2021 Good with: Cats: Unknown Dogs: Yes, needs slow introduction Kids: Yes, needs slow introduction Location: Fort Worth, TX Weight: 105 lbs Bella has a very sweet temperament and gets along well with all dogs she has been exposed to in foster care. She is not reactive on walks, even when other dogs are. She seems to genuinely want to meet everyone on our walks. When she is comfortable with the other pets she will play hard. I am not sure she had other companion animals in the previous home. She has three canine companions in her foster home. The youngest is a young neutered male mutt who loves to rough house which seems to have opened up her funny side. Bella will engage in rambunctious play. They will chase each other around the yard and wrestle. She has really found herself here. She is vocal in the yard, but not so much in the house. She will alert when other dogs are barking from the other side of the fence. She is very friendly and is not observant of personal space. She will need affirmation of her place in the home. Bella will need an adopter who will keep her engaged and play with her. Bella is very affectionate and will stand right in front of you for her fair share of lovin’. Bella is treat motivated, knows sit, shake, and go to bed. When told to go to bed she will go to the designated area to retire for the night, whether a dog bed in a quiet room or her crate. A first time giant owner may be intimidated by her hyper nature and need for constant stimulation. A family with another dog would help with helping her to burn off extra energy and to mesh into the family easier. Bella would also be good as an only dog with an owner or family committed to keeping her engaged and active. The adoptive family should have a fenced yard, as Bella will run as fast and as far as possible. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, the dog is considered available for adoption. Meet and greets can be scheduled with approved adopters. Transportation from the foster home to the adopter is the responsibility of the adopter to coordinate. Diesel - Male Great Dane Age: 4 Years Gets along with: Cats: Needs slow introduction Dogs: Yes Kids: Needs slow introduction given size Location: Northeast Indiana Weight: 145 lbs Diesel came into rescue very shutdown, but quickly came out of his shell to a happy Dane, and all that that entails (bouncy boy with a deadly tail). He has fit right in with the three other dogs and cats in his foster home. He is learning what toys are, but doesn’t play much yet. He will follow you around (even when vacuuming) and will help you in the kitchen. He spends the night in his crate, but would prefer sleeping in the bedroom (we will leave that up to his new home). He loves snuggling on the couch, and naps there regularly. He walks on a leash, but needs a little more work. Like most big dogs he like his head and ears scratched, but will turn around so you can scratch his butt. Diesel would fit in almost any family. He is good with other dogs, but would be happy to be the center of attention as an only dog. He would like occasional walks, but is great at taking naps. His recall is still slow, so a fenced yard would be needed. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, the dog is considered available for adoption.
