Meet Genny! This 2-year-old Great Dane mix has been through so much in her short life. Found abandoned in a forest preserve with her 5 puppies, Genny was left to fend for herself and her family. It took rescuers days to trap her as she was terrified of people and had clearly been mistreated. Genny's ears were recently cropped before being dumped and the poor girl had a bad limp. After being trapped, she immediately went to the ER for her leg. She was covered in hundreds of ticks and her leg was beyond repair. Genny ultimately had her leg amputated, and she's still getting used to getting around on 3 legs. She spent some time in foster where she got used to having a leash on her and meeting safe people who won't hurt her anymore. Genny will need an extremely patient and quiet home with no children and a fully fenced, secure yard. Genny has done great with other dogs; she just needs the right people to take a chance on her!

Meet Trixie, a beautiful, fun Great Dane who is about 4 years old and weighs about 100 lbs. Trixie is so very sweet and always wants to cuddle. Does she know that she is 100 lbs and not a lap dog? She certainly does not! She loves to be the center of your world. She is super smart and treat motivated her, so training her has been and will be a joy. She is protective of her home but not at all aggressive, and she has become BFFs with the resident dog. Since she doesn't really understand her size, we would like to place her in a home with kids 12 or older only. We also would like her in a home with a securely fenced in yard. LOCAL TN ADOPTION ONLY. The good.....He is kennel trained. Goes in very easily with treats. Will run right in if a treat is thrown in there. Will bark for a few minutes but settles. If he’s in a crate, in a room alone and he hears a lot of commotion, he will bark. If you’ve left and the house is quiet, he’s quiet. He’s great in the kennel if someone is in the same room with him though. He likes being with his people. He happily snoozes in an open kennel during the day if you’re working from home and the kennel is near your work area.Scooby is a goof! There’s not much he takes too seriously. Besides treats. Treats are serious business! He will do just about anything for a treat. Even stuff he really doesn’t want to do. But treats are life. He’s overall an easy dog that is sweet, happy, cuddly and isn’t overly energetic. He loves playing and is a bulldozer but he relaxes and naps a lot too. He doesn’t require mass amounts of exercise. He is more than happy to lounge around in bed and watch tv with his humans. The bad...He snores. It’s not quiet...He hates small dogs, if your neighbor has one he will make it his life"s mission to eradicate it. He is generally good on a leash until aforementioned small dog walks up, then he will happily chill with you while you recover from your rotator cuff repair.
