Story

Banjo was just a tiny little fella when his litter was dropped off to one of our dedicated fosters. It was quickly clear that these puppies were overrun with worms and unfortunately Banjo was the only one to survive.. Banjo is about 90% blind and has epilepsy (which is well managed) so he needs a special family that will understand his medical needs and be a calm leader when he experiences seizures. He has come a long way and we know that there is a family out there that can see passed his special needs and love him all the same. He does require medication for his seizures twice a day at meal times. Banjo is good with everyone! Including kids. He also loves being with other dogs and is neutral toward cats in his foster home. He is still very young so he does need to be crated when left alone but he has a great foundation for crating thanks to his foster. Banjo rides well in the car and is excellent for bath time. He LOVES food and thinks toys are less exciting. But dont worry his favorite games involve interacting with his people. Banjo is currently in PA but he can be transported to an approved adopter. This special boy needs a special family!

Story

Meet Ghost! Ghost is a gentle, shy neutered male, about 1 to 2 years old, a merle Great Dane of about 60 pounds, who is looking for a patient person to show him what home is all about. He was part of a large Frenchie hoarding case, and he spent a couple of months roaming neighborhoods on his own before he came into care. He has been vetted and is ready for the next chapter of his life. Ghost is very fearful and was semi-feral when he came to us, so he's still learning how to trust. He's a bundle of nerves, but there's a sweet dog under it all. On a leash, he's a star. He'll stay glued to your hip and walk like a pro. He doesn't seem to mind other animals, and he's gentle by nature. Without a leash and a job to do, Ghost can seem unsure how to just be a dog, and he'll need help learning to relax, play, and explore. A foster home noted that he guarded his food, so he'd do best with a quiet routine and his own space at mealtimes. The basics - Age: About 1 to 2 years - Sex: Male, neutered - Breed: Merle Great Dane - Weight: About 60 pounds - Vetted: Yes - Leash manners: Excellent - Other animals: Doesn't seem to mind them - Food: Has guarded his food, so feed him separately - Temperament: Very fearful, gentle His perfect home: a patient, experienced adopter with a calm household, who understands fearful dogs and is happy to move at Ghost's pace. A confident, easygoing resident dog could help him, and a fenced yard would be a plus. If you've loved a shy dog before, Ghost needs you. Apply to meet him today!
