Story
Meet Rufus Allen Poe! Rufus was abandoned in a house along with 10 other dogs and a ton of cats. Fortunately, he was one of the lucky ones who made it out on the other side. Rufus doesn’t hold a grudge tho, and is the perfect dog according to his foster family. This sweet boy is around 1-2 years old. He’s great with other dogs and fantastic with cats, even kittens! He is completely potty trained, crate trained, and can sleep in bed all night, too. Apply today to give this amazing boy the loving family he deserves! He is up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. Adoption fee is $200.   All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   June 6, 2023, 12:37 pm

Story
Hi My name is DUKE My foster mom who is also the rescue that has me now. I am a GENTLE GIANT I lost my owner due to no fault of mine. He got into trouble with the law and then had no place to live so then I was homeless as well. I stayed with Grandma but then Grandma one day couldn't take care of me anymore. Then where she lived a awful man wanted to kill me by shooting me. Grandma called the nice lady from BARK ANIMAL Rescue and she came to get me. I miss my owner so much but I am adjusting to my new temporary place. The nice lady takes good care of me. I saw the doctor today and got checked out. I got some vaccines and got weighed. I weigh 164 and I am healthy. I am a little older and like to sleep and chill with my Human on the couch. I like to watch TV with my human as well. I am a Giant Breed my mom says and I am a senior but I love to play and run around in the big yard here with my mom and her pups. They are all older too. We get along pretty well. I am housebroken and I do well left alone when mom has to go to the store or go do some work. Mom is just looking for a fur ever home where I will be safe and not at risk of getting shot at like where I came from. She wants me to be happy for my senior days. I went to the doc and I am good to go now. If you can give me a furever loving home Ill be your friend forever then contact BARK for an app and to see me. Im kinda sad right now but its getting a little better as days go on.

Story
Meet Jameson! She is a 100 pound, 2 year old female, Great Dane, currently in the care of Hart! She has been in rescue since January and has made tremendous progress. She doesn’t love everyone but when she does love you she wants to rub her whole body against you and do everything with you and be everywhere you are. She loves hard and big! Her perfect home would be with adults or if there are kids, older teenagers who are dog savvy and a lower traffic home. She likely had little to no socialization in her first 2 years so she’s learning how to act and she’s a fast learner! She has made great progress with other dogs but may not be ready to share her people just yet. Must be adopted by someone willing to continue her training and be her last and forever home! ❤️ Please go to rescueahart.org to apply!
