Story
Meet Mae! This beautiful girl is a 6-month-old, 50lb Great Dane mix. She is full of energy and is ready to be the best playmate for her forever family! Mae is a typical puppy and absolutely loves to play! If it squeaks or rolls, she loves it. She will even wander around the yard collecting sticks for your spring fires. When it comes to potty time, Mae is still learning, but she is making progress and goes quickly whenever she is taken outside on the leash. Mae is crate trained and has no trouble going into her crate where she sleeps quietly throughout the night. Mae has lots of puppy energy to burn and would love an active household to keep her moving! From learning to play fetch in the yard, going for a long walk, or romping around with a doggie playmate, Mae is ready for it all! She plays well with her human brother and dog foster sisters, but does not yet understand how big she is in comparison. Mae might due best in a home with older children, adults, or dogs near her size. Mae is currently located in the Cincinnati, OH area and her adoption fee is $400. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Billy is nearly 2 yrs old, and generally a sweet 200lb boy, who gets along well with his companion female Dane and with our cat, but he has behavior problems that we can no longer handle. He continues to chew furniture and destroy cushions; if he gets excited on walks he will sometimes jump up and knock down us or a passerby trying to play; most significantly, a couple weeks ago he squeezed partially under our chain link fence and grabbed a dog running free that was visiting our neighbor. We had never seen aggressive behavior from him before. We have had many Danes over the last 30 years but have never had problems like these. We are now in our early 70s, and I have cancer, and we are just not strong or wise enough to deal with him. We hope to find him a home with someone who can invest the time and energy to calm his wilder instincts and enjoy the beautiful, sweet, goofy dog he can be.He loves to meet people and does so calmly if under control..

Story
Everyone please meet Toasted Marshmallow, also lovely referred to as Toast .  Toast is a super sweet and laid back Great Dane mix, approximately 6 years old. He’s taken everything in stride since coming into foster care. He’s had quite the busy schedule the past few days.  He attended a kids baseball game and just chilled out and let everyone love on him.  He rides in the car very well for being such a large dude.  He met his foster brothers and they all immediately got along great.  Toast lucked out and is being fostered by a single millennial woman who has a family farm! He highly enjoys trotting around with his foster brothers and rolling in the grass.  He even met all the farm animals and has great instincts for giving everyone their own space.  He met the farm cats and was curious, but also left them alone.  Toast has met kids, a rambunctious puppy, various farm animals, many people, and dealt with loud noises and equipment and just rolled with everything.  He is crate and potty trained. He enjoys his space in his crate and sleeps very well through the night. He hasn’t shown much interest in toys, despite his foster brother trying to share them with him but he takes treats gently, and shares space with other dogs without issues.  Toast is just a sweet, senior dude looking for a home where he can be loved by a person, take lots of comfy naps, and roll around in some grass! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. Story
Hi, my name is Duke, aka Dukie Boy. Folks think I’m part Great Dane, GSD, hound, and just an overall big Heinz 57! I’m a bit over 100 lbs. and am a great mix of playful fun and snuggle bugs. I’m neutered, perfectly house trained and go straight into my crate without hesitation! At boarding I have fun with my friends both male and female. I also like to sleep on the bed - I’m the best snuggle buddy since I just curl up into a little ball and sleep through the whole night! Playing ball and frisbee are two of my favorite activities after some fun, I love nothing more than lots of pets and luvins and relaxation. I’m just a young boy (maybe 3-4 at most) who is searching for a forever home! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home.
