Story
Zeus is a five year old Great Dane that I got when he was a puppy. Zeus thinks he is a lap dog, and is very affectionate and will always be at your side. We have lived with another roommates dog for years, and unfortunately Zeus has become protective and has become aggressive towards the other dog. I don’t have a lot of time to work with him. He gets anxious in crates and can become destructive while being crated so when I’m not home he does fine out in the main rooms. He can be very sneaky when it comes to food by figured out how to get into trash cans. I also have to close all bedroom doors because for some reason he will lock himself in the small rooms and then freak out. Unfortunately I feel that I cannot offer a great life for him and I hope someone else could be able to offer more then I can.

Story
Who didn't want to have a 🐴 at some point in their life? However, horses are expensive and huge and most of us never get them. Here's your chance to have your own "mini pony" that can live in the house with you and won't be as expensive or time consuming as a real horse. Dane Cook is not only the right color to be a pony, but he even has the "blaze" on his face. 🐕 Dane Cook is 7 months now and 72 lbs. At the rate he's growing we're pretty sure this Dane mix is going to make it to triple digits when he's full grown. 💯Dane Cook is a gentle giant. He loves his small playmates as well as larger ones. 🐾 At times it seems he doesn't know his size with people but with dogs he seems to get it. He's also a water loving boy who would like playing in a doggie pool or possibly a big pool or pond. 💧Dane Cook is an amazing dog with an amazing personality. Despite being at the shelter for 58 days. 🏡 Dane keeps his inside kennel clean and uses his outside kennel only when he can't get out of the kennel for bathroom breaks. 🚽Please consider adding Dane Cook to your family! Not sure if he'll fit in? No problem! Take him home for a week and see how it goes! 🏠Dane Cook's adoption fee is $225 and includes all 3 DAPP vaccines, dewormer, flea & tick treated, he will be microchipped and scheduled for neuter and rabies upon adoption. You can apply online for them at Apply Here OR stop into the shelter from 12-5 pm Tuesday through Friday or 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday to meet who is available at that time. Please arrive no later than 30 minutes before we close to ensure we have time to do the adoption. 🕒Preapproved? Please call us at 📞 937-393-2110 or message us on Facebook to let us know who you are interested in meeting.Take advantage of our foster-to-adopt program, where you can take any dog 4 mos and older home for a week to make sure it is a good fit before committing to adoption. 🐶❤️

🐾 Meet Danedelion! 🐾If you like big mutts, then Danedelion is the girl for you! 🐶 At just 7 months old and already 75 lbs, she's on her way to being a big beauty. 💪🐕Danedelion is a bit shy at first, so she might pretend she doesn't love you, but give her a few minutes, and she'll show you her true, affectionate self. ❤️🐾She loves playing with her canine friends, especially those over 30 lbs. 🐕🐾 This Great Dane mix hasn't quite mastered the art of realizing her size yet, so expect some adorably clumsy moments. 🐾🥰Be prepared for a big girl and a shy personality who loves the water 🐕🌟Give Danedelion a chance, and you'll have a loyal, loving, and playful companion for life! 🏡💕Danedelion's adoption fee is $225, she's received age-appropriate vaccines, flea & tick treated, and will be microchipped and scheduled for her spay upon adoption. You can apply online for them at https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=sr2794&method=online_form_html&formid=21 OR stop into the shelter from 12 - 5 pm Tuesday through Friday or 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday to meet who is available at that time. Story
Due to personal circumstances and no fault of his own, we are looking to find Percy his forever home. He is a little over a year old, still intact. He's about 115 lbs, although he has no clue & still believes himself to be a lap dog. He is crate trained, we currently have him in a XXL crate. He knows basic commands, though he does have selective hearing when he gets excited. He has never been around children, but does okay with cats. He MUST go to a home with a fence, and other dogs to play with would be a bonus. Experience with Danes is preferred, but not required. Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions or are interested in meeting Percy!

Story
When my owners no longer wanted me they took me, to SPCA Cincinnati and tied me to their gate and left me! The next morning when the shelter workers showed up, they contacted Cincinnati Animal Care so I could serve my stray time. When my stray time was up the shelter contacted Harlequin Haven Great Dane Rescue to come for me. Within hours I was here at the rescue. Update 10/24: Well I got neutered today and NOW Grandma says I need to work on my manners before I can find my forever home. Hummmm I guess that means I need to be better with everyone not just her. Update 11/02: I am NOW ready for adoption!! I am still working on my manners, but I am getting better every day. Update 5/4/24: Well as you know I was adopted out in September 2023 and unfortunately it did not work out. I was so excited to have a family of my very own I went into protective mode and that made my adopters nervous. We tried to make it work but we decided they were not the right family for me. Update 6/11/24: I am now ready to try being adopted again. Grandma and I have taken lots of trips to the Vets office, feed stores etc. and I am no longer getting overly excited when I see strangers. Although I still do LOVE to meet people now I have learned I must have manners if I want them to pay attention to me. __________________________ If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, you will need to follow the adoption procedures on our website. (www.hhdane.org) The procedures are on the right-hand menu. http://www.hhdane.org/hhdane/procedure.htm I have also pasted them below for your convenience. Thank you for your interest in our dogs. Our adoption area is Ohio and Extreme Northern Kentucky (Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties). We do not adopt to any other areas. For exact area go to FAQ. All of our rescue dogs are spayed and neutered prior to adoption. All shots including lyme and rabies are given. They have been wormed, checked for heartworm, lyme disease & ehrlichia, and placed on heartworm preventative. All dogs are kept for a minimum of one month for temperament evaluation and to be house trained. Registration papers are returned to the AKC as per their request and there are no exceptions. We require a fenced yard, fence must be at least 4 feet tall (48 inches) and must attach or surround with direct access to the building where the dog will be housed, NO Exceptions. Invisible and electric fences do NOT meet the requirements of a fenced yard. A yard of adequate size, to be determined on an individual basis. All pets in the home must be altered and current on vaccinations prior to applying to adopt. Adopter must be at least 21 years of age at time of application. In some rare cases apartments and condos may be acceptable if they have direct access to a fenced area for the dog to relieve themselves. Apartments and Condos to be determined on an individual basis. If you live in a condo you must send us a copy of your condo association rules as well as the contact number for the condo association. We do not place puppies and young Danes in apartments or condo's. We do not accept checks or credit cards.
