ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Meet Auggie! Auggie is a 5 year old Great Pyrenees mix who weighs about 65 lbs.  He'd love to have a family and a yard where he can run and play, his favorite thing to do. He is not really interested in going anywhere, home is where this big boy's heart is. Auggie is a loving and playful dog who enjoys all kind of toys. He's had one-on-one training and classes, knows obedience cues, and follows them very well. He is also walking properly on leash, is potty trained, and knows 'sit', down' and 'shake'. Auggie will need an experienced owner and an adult-only family. He’s not used to being around cats and will chase them, so no cats for this boy. He's neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $300.00. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Seems good with other dogs. He is very loyal to his people and his property. That’s why I want someone that is familiar with a guard dog and their behaviors and no small children. He is good off property, but is a guardian on his property. Neutered, UTD on vaccines. Licensed & microchipped. Sleeps inside. Crate trained. Good in house. Behaved well at board/groomer/vet. How this pet arrived: Pickles was brought in by his previous owner on August 16, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Pickles! This clever, curious boy is kind of a big dill. He has a thoughtful nature and prefers to ease into new situations with calm, gentle introductions. Once he's settled, his playful and engaging side really starts to relish the moment. Pickles enjoys activities that keep his mind busy - training, puzzle toys and positive reinforcement are right up his alley. He thrives in a peaceful, low-traffic home where his personal space is respected and life stays nice and easy. New people and dogs can be a bit jar-ring for Pickles, so he's best suited for a quieter home with older kids only, who should be present for the meet-and-greet. He's selective with canine companions and may prefer being the only pickle in the jar, though a shelter meet-and-greet is available if there's a potential dog sibling. Having spent much of his time outdoors, Pickles would benefit from a securely fenced yard as he transitions into home life. With patience and consistency, he'll stick by his person and prove himself a truly spectacular companion. Blinkin is a beautiful Sarplaninac (Illyrian Shepherd) - a very rare, ancient guardian breed - marched with Alexander & descended from Tibetan Mastiffs - of which she has several rescue pack mates. Blinkin came to us as a neglect/abuse case on 09/25. Blinkin was starved and covered in wounds. Blinkin is older and likely has some nerve damage in her rear legs. Blinkin was recently spayed. She is getting better all the time. Blinkin is sweet, intelligent, and gets along with everyone. At this point, the entire pack looks after Blink - even the mini schnauzer loves her. She sleeps right by the bed every night. Blink is technically still available for adoption - but only to a fantastic, forever home. Do us a favor and adopt Roscoe - he is young, sweet, adoptable, and cute. We always take back rescues if issues arise.
