Story
How this pet arrived: Sally was brought in by a community member on December 18, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Sally! Sally came in with her puppies and totally rocked the mom life. Now that her babies are grown, she's ready to be the star of her own next chapter! She might be a little shy at first, but give her a moment and you'll be rewarded with her signature tail swooshes and a big, happy smile. Sally loves her outdoor time and will happily chase a tennis ball or soak up all the attention she can get. She prefers to be the only dog in the home and would do best with kids ages 8 and up. Everyone in the household should come along for the meet and greet - Sally wants to make sure her future family passes the vibe check. If you're looking for a loveable pup who's sure to add joy to your home, come meet Sally today! At SDHS:Sally has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home! Story
Laika is one of the sweetest, loving, snuggly dogs we have known and it is difficult to part with her. Shes athletic, strong and a natural guardian dog to all animals. Shes will be best friends with any animal on your property and gentle with small children. Ideally, you should have farm animals like sheep or goats. Her bread will get board if not and chew things like irrigation, dig and is stubborn about potty training and other commands. This is part of the Great Pyrenees bread to be left alone, independent thinkers. They are perfect as an outdoor dog with farm animals in a barn or where they have access to them most the day to protect against coyotes. They are sensitive and need your affection, positive feedback and love. This breed is not for inexperienced dog owners or city dwellers. If you have the right environment for Laika, she will be the best dog you can imagine.

Story
We are looking to re-home Piglet, a fun loving sweet boy. We inherited him when we purchased a property because the owner left the country; however we already have four dogs and it is too much for us to take on another. We want Piglet to find a sweet family of his own where he can be spoiled and loved on.

ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Meet Auggie! Auggie is a 6 year old Great Pyrenees mix who weighs about 65 lbs.  He'd love to have a family and a yard where he can run and play, his favorite thing to do. He is not really interested in going anywhere, home is where this big boy's heart is. Auggie is a loving and playful dog who enjoys all kind of toys. He's had one-on-one training and classes, knows obedience cues, and follows them very well. He is also walking properly on leash, is potty trained, and knows 'sit', down' and 'shake'.   Auggie will need an experienced owner and an adult-only family and must have a yard as he loves spending time outdoors.  He’s not used to being around cats and will chase them, so no cats for this boy. He's neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $300.00. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  www.secondchancedogrescue.org  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  February 27, 2026, 4:37 pm
