Story
How this pet arrived: Pickles was brought in by his previous owner on August 16, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Pickles is a smart cookie wrapped in a fluffy package - and just like his name, he's got a little tang! This clever boy can be shy when meeting new people and prefers a slow, gentle introduction. He's not a fan of too much handling or sharing his favorite snacks, so he's hoping to find a calm, lower-traffic home where he can feel secure. Pickles can be vocal around new people and other dogs, so he'd do best in a home without small children (ages 12+ only, and they must be present for the meet-and-greet). He's also quite selective with canine friends and would likely thrive as the only dog in the household. If there's a potential dog roommate, a meet-and-greet at the shelter will be required. Once Pickles feels safe and comfortable, his true personality shines - playful, active, and incredibly bright! He loves mental challenges and will excel in a home that can keep his mind busy with games, training, and positive reinforcement. Pickles is used to spending more time outdoors, so a secure yard would help him adjust to home life. With patience, consistency, and understanding, he'll reward you with his loyalty, affection, and one-of-a-kind charm. If you're looking for a brainy, unique companion who just needs a little time and love to blossom, Pickles At SDHS:Pickles has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Pickles is now ready for his new home! Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Black Weight: 74.8 Age: 2yrs 7mths 1wks

Story
How this pet arrived:Shasta was brought in by a community member on September 24, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Shasta, a sweet and energetic pup in search of a loving new home! Shasta was initially very shy when he came into our care, but with time, patience and a gentle approach, he is beginning to come out of his shell and share his affectionate personality. He enjoys receiving pets and attention from familiar faces. Shasta is still learning to feel comfortable in new situations, so he'll need a calm and understanding home that can continue helping him build confidence. He will thrive best in a home without the hustle and bustle of young children (under 8), but he has had positive interactions with other dogs in our care and may get along well with a canine companion. With gentle guidance and love, Shasta has the potential to blossom into a loyal and affectionate companion! Come speak to an adoption counselor to learn more about him today. At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. This pet is now ready for adoption! Primary Color: Blue Brindle Secondary Color: White Weight: 69.9 Age: 2yrs 2mths 1wks
