Story
I am so sad to post this... I have made the difficult decision to re-home my dog Cairo. He was my service dog in training but unfortunately he flunked out of being a suitable working dog. He is extremely well trained (all basic commands), and is the biggest goofball there is. I love him so much but due to my medical needs, I am unable to keep him since he is unable to be my service dog any longer. About Cairo Age: 1 year old Medical: Neutered , Vaccinations up to date , early signs of hip dysplasia Animals: Would love to be in a home with dogs! Good with cats Training: All basic commands, potty trained, crate trained If you or anybody you know is interested in adopting him please message me!

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $650   Marty McFly is a 4 month old Great Pyrenees x Anatolian Shepherd mix who is ready to take you on the adventure of a lifetime! Marty was rescued from the shelter when he crash landed in 2025. Since we don’t have time travel technology for dogs (yet) we promised to find him a perfect forever home in this century. Marty currently weighs 40 pounds and we expect he will be a big boy when he reaches his adult weight, which means he will be the perfect size for any adventure you could ever have planned! Come pick up Marty McFly and a DeLorean from DPS today!    Marty has the heart of an old soul wrapped in a playful pup’s body. While he enjoys toys and treats, what he truly craves is companionship. He feels safest and happiest simply knowing you’re there. He absolutely loves belly rubs and cuddle time, but he’s also up for fun when the moment calls for it! He enjoys playtime but isn’t overly energetic. When the moment calls for it, he’ll chase a toy or engage with another dog, but he’s also content to lounge and cuddle. Marty is a sweet, affectionate pup who craves companionship. He’s a loyal dog who naturally stays close but isn’t overly clingy or needy. As a young pup, Marty is still mastering the basics—like leash walking and obedience—but he’s a quick learner. He picked up “sit” in no time and is eager to learn more. He thrives on routine and quickly settles into the flow of the household. Marty would be an amazing addition to a home looking for adventure, but he would be just as happy to snuggle on the couch and watch a movie (or three)! Marty would thrive in a home where he can receive lots of companionship someone to call him a best friend. He’d do great with a family, a single person, or a couple—especially someone who enjoys snuggling with their pup. Marty kickstarts his day at 6:30 AM with a big stretch followed by breakfast and playtime. He heads back into his crate for a bit and then has some zoomies in the yard followed by lunch. In the afternoon, he romps around with his favorite toy of the moment, taking lots of time to smell the flowers in the backyard and get cuddles from his humans. Dinner is served at 6 PM followed by even more playtime and cuddles. He gets tired around 10 PM and heads into his crate for the night.  Marty does well with people of all ages, including babies, and gets along great with other dogs. He also loves dogs and would be a fabulous companion pup. Marty is making great progress with crate training. He naturally sticks close to his people and is so calm outside the crate that you might even forget he’s there! While he’s a little hesitant to go in at first, he settles in after a few minutes—especially when enjoying his meals in his personal “studio apartment.” Marty is a curious pup, and as he continues to build confidence, his personality will shine even more. Marty is looking for a loving home where he can continue to grow, learn, and bond with his forever family. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion, you won’t find a better one than our Marty McFly!   Marty McFly is an option for homes who have owned a dog in the past. Kids should be over the age of 5.February 7, 2025, 1:27 pm

Story
3/10/22: Nova now needs a new experienced foster home or forever home as the only dog. She did great with adopter's 2 adult dogs but now at 9 mos. old she wants to the top alpha dog at home. With her people she is very sweet smart attentive treat motivated and loves snuggling. She needs to be the only dog in home. No other dog or cats in home. From her foster/adopters: She is a big active girl who loves walks playing fetch and splashing around in her kiddie pool. Nova was originally adopted by her foster family who have had her since she was 9 weeks old and absolutely adore her. Unfortunately despite growing up with their other dogs and doing great with them as a small puppy as she grew to be the largest member of the pack she became reactive toward other dogs. Her family has worked with trainers on this issue. She is a very smart girl and is improving in public settings. Unfortunately Nova is just not well-suited for life in a multi-dog household. Nova is cuddly and lovable with her people. She is a highly trainable girl as she is very food-motivated and a fast learner. She has been through puppy training and excelled in agility activities. She does well in a crate. Nova is a sweet girl who just needs some solo attention. She would do well with an experienced handler in a home with no other animals or small children. https://photos.app.goo.gl/ejWd5yRDRpNBCQCt8 Below is from Nova's original posting in 2021: We took in Nova from a kind lady that rescued her mom from a field in Bakersfield. Mom was starved and very skinny. Most likely dumped. Soon mom gave birth to one puppy. The guardian took her mom to her vet and had x-rays done and no other pups. Nova is very special. Lady that found her already has 2 dogs (one senior dog with medical needs) and busy work schedule so she asked us to take in Nova to ensure her puppy training care and socials. Nova is doing great at her foster home. She has huge paws double rare dew claws fluffy and very sweet. Not sure what breed mix she is. Mom is 60 lbs and very sweet. She will need a home with yard prefer another dog at home and experience with large dogs. Nova will be ready in 2-3 weeks after all her vet care. More info. to come. 8/21/21 update: It took her 4-5 days to start playing with foster home's dog. Will chase the ball and chewing. Does like to dig. Loves food and treats. Going out to yard for potty biz and few accidents inside.November 4, 2024, 2:12 pm
