Adopt Athena! This beautiful puppy is a great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix. She was a litter of 12 and we are able to help eight of them. 4 were given away by the owners. The owners had several dogs who were not fixed and had an accidental litter. Athena is a very sweet dog who loves to play and will be a bigger dog as she grows. She’s going to be a loyal companion and has been around farm animals/dogs. She was great with kids and a very great temperament. Rio is a wonderful, loving dog who deserves a caring forever home. My grandson got Rio when he was just six weeks old. When my grandson moved from Arizona and was no longer able to care for him, Rio came to live with me. I have now had him for the past three years. Rio is a beautiful, affectionate, and loyal dog. He enjoys being around people and has been a cherished part of our family. Unfortunately, due to my current circumstances, I am no longer able to provide the care and attention he deserves. I am raising my two grandchildren while recovering from two neck surgeries, and it has become increasingly difficult to meet his needs. This decision comes from a place of love. My hope is to find a safe, stable, and loving home where Rio will continue to receive the care, affection, and companionship he deserves. He has so much love to give and would make a wonderful companion for the right person or family. If you are interested in giving Rio a loving home, please contact me. Thank you,

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog J:1Osobuco – Gentle, Shy, and Soft-Hearted Osobuco is a shy, elegant 5-year-old Great Pyrenees mix weighing 105 pounds. With a calm, gentle nature, his sweet personality slowly shines through once he feels comfortable. Calm walking companion: Osobuco walks nicely on leash with only mild pulling and follows leash guidance well. Polite and thoughtful: He greets new people politely and will sit on request, especially when yummy treats are involved. Selective but gentle: Osobuco can be picky about treats, though cheese and chicken are his clear favorites, which he takes them very softly from your hand. Slow to warm up: He may shy away from pets initially, but after a few minutes, he may approach to sniff and gently lean in for chest scratches and affection. He also remains calm when passing nearby dogs. Osobuco would do best with appropriately matched dog companions or as a solo dog with dog friends outside the home. June 8, 2026, 1:52 am
