Story
Hi, my name is Clifford! I may be on the larger side, but don’t let my size fool you, I’ve got a gentle, affectionate heart. I’m a sweet pup who loves spending time with people, whether we’re taking a walk, relaxing in the yard, or just hanging out together. I’m happiest when I’ve got good company by my side! I’ve got a big heart, a gentle spirit, and I’m ready to find someone to share it all with. If you’re looking for a loyal friend who will stick by you through it all, I’d be so happy to be that dog. For more information contact the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority (SVACA) at 408-764-0344 or visit www.svaca.com.

Story
Moana is a 14mo 1/2 silver lab and 1/2 Great Pyrenees unaltered female up for adoption. I have met both parents and while she looks like other breeds she is indeed the above mix called a “Pyrador” Moana is an extremely loving girl with a ton of lab energy! She is crate and potty trained great with dogs and kids, but probably kids that are taller than her because she is at just the right height and keeps knocking down our younger kids hard. She needs to be able to get out and run to bring down that energy and with 4 kids a job and a house it’s just too much for our family.

Story
Buggy is overall an extremely well-adjusted, people-oriented dog who loves attention. She is not anxious or reactive, does great on leash, though she will bark when someone enters the home. I have taken her camping in a tent before and she absolutely loved it. She lets me wipe her paws and clip her nails, loves being brushed, and although she doesn’t like to take bathes, she’s still a very good girl. Buggy is great with other dogs and cats. She grew up with a Golden Retriever and lives with a kitten. The kitten was 6 weeks old and she was very, very gentle with it. While she does great with children as well, she is very big and can be clumsy- she loves to paw for attention, so I would always monitor any interactions with children. Since she did grow up with other dogs and people at home, I would prefer she go to a home with another dog or where she is not left alone for too long without anything to keep her occupied.

Story
3/10/22: Nova now needs a new experienced foster home or forever home as the only dog. She did great with adopter's 2 adult dogs but now at 9 mos. old she wants to the top alpha dog at home. With her people she is very sweet smart attentive treat motivated and loves snuggling. She needs to be the only dog in home. No other dog or cats in home. From her foster/adopters: She is a big active girl who loves walks playing fetch and splashing around in her kiddie pool. Nova was originally adopted by her foster family who have had her since she was 9 weeks old and absolutely adore her. Unfortunately despite growing up with their other dogs and doing great with them as a small puppy as she grew to be the largest member of the pack she became reactive toward other dogs. Her family has worked with trainers on this issue. She is a very smart girl and is improving in public settings. Unfortunately Nova is just not well-suited for life in a multi-dog household. Nova is cuddly and lovable with her people. She is a highly trainable girl as she is very food-motivated and a fast learner. She has been through puppy training and excelled in agility activities. She does well in a crate. Nova is a sweet girl who just needs some solo attention. She would do well with an experienced handler in a home with no other animals or small children. See her current photos! Below is from Nova's original posting in 2021: We took in Nova from a kind lady that rescued her mom from a field in Bakersfield. Mom was starved and very skinny. Most likely dumped. Soon mom gave birth to one puppy. The guardian took her mom to her vet and had x-rays done and no other pups. Nova is very special. Lady that found her already has 2 dogs (one senior dog with medical needs) and busy work schedule so she asked us to take in Nova to ensure her puppy training care and socials. Nova is doing great at her foster home. She has huge paws double rare dew claws fluffy and very sweet. Not sure what breed mix she is. Mom is 60 lbs and very sweet. She will need a home with yard prefer another dog at home and experience with large dogs. Nova will be ready in 2-3 weeks after all her vet care. More info. to come. 8/21/21 update: It took her 4-5 days to start playing with foster home's dog. Will chase the ball and chewing. Does like to dig. Loves food and treats. Going out to yard for potty biz and few accidents inside.February 10, 2025, 1:16 pm

Story
Hello all you wonderful people! My name is Wallace, I'm a neutered, 4 year old Great Pyrenees mix that weighs about 93lbs. I'm a gentle and stoic boy who is very true to my breed. I would love to find a family with a large yard for me to roam. My new family should be familiar with guardian breeds like me; we are known, not only for our beauty and size, but also for being independent minded (aka stubborn) and having a gentle nature but with protective instincts so we require a dedicated owner. I love jerky treats and will lay my head right on your lap for some treats and snuggle time. I'm still working on understanding what being on leash means and will need a patient handler and a consistent routine to help me find my footing. My friends here at PHS have been helping me practice going for walks and I've improved but still have some work to do. For the moment I would do best in a home with older kids and no dogs while I work on learning all these new skills. For more information, just ask Customer Service about Wallace ID#A958365 I recently went on a walk with a PHS Volunteer. Here's how I did: Wallace was SUCH a good boy this morning! I know there is concern that he will stall on walks but today this good boy walked all the way down Rollins for about a mile and was actually walking at a pretty good clip. He would have continued if I hadn’t turned us around. I was so pleased with him! He seemed super happy and energetic. We went to the yard afterwards but he really just wanted to snuggle with no interest in toys. I sat with him for a while back at his dorm and he literally just put his head in my lap so I stayed a while to give him that human contact. He really is very sweet and just loves his person and attention. Wonderful boy!Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by.
