Story
Meet Hercules, the Great Pyrenees! Although Hercules is considered a “senior”, he still has a lot of love and energy to bring to his next home. He enjoys going for daily walks and playing with toys. He enjoys a home where he has a routine and guardians who are home more often than not. If a guardian is planning to leave him alone, they should provide a walking session and/or some play prior to their departure to set him up for success. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

Story
Meet Nala, a young, sweet, and playful dog. Though she may be shy at first, her warm personality shines through once she becomes comfortable with you. Since she can be shy, Nala would do best in a home with children above the age of 10. Although she will require continued training, she is eager to learn and grow and has proven to be a very fast-learner. With patience, she will blossom into an even more wonderful companion. Nala has an abundance of love to give and she's just waiting for the right person to share it with. Adopting Nala means gaining a loyal friend who will bring joy, laughter, and a unique kind of love into your life. Nala is currently available by appointment. Please call (831) 264-5422 to learn more about her and schedule a time to meet her. Primary Color: Brown Weight: 62.8 Age: 0yrs 10mths 3wks

Story
I am writing on behalf of our aging parents who are facing a difficult decision regarding their dog, Kuuper due to some recent challenges. Unfortunately, they find themselves unable to manage his size and strength, as they are both in retirement age, will be going on disability, and moving to a small apartment complex. Kuuper is a 5 year old, great pyrenese mix, an incredibly sweet, timid, and obedient dog, and is kind and playful with other animals and children when properly introduced. He is house trained, crate trained, and gentle with humans as he’s been living with our senior parents his whole life.  He has been a beloved part of our family since he was a puppy and this is a very difficult decision for all of us. We hope that he finds a family that will continue the love we’ve given him.
