Story
Luna is a 7 year old Great Pyrenees mix, about 70 lbs. If you are one of her people, Luna is incredibly sweet. She is very intelligent and full of energy. She loves to play with her toys and get love, but also loves to relax. She would really benefit from training, we could just never find the right trainer for her. She is not great with walking on a leash, but she does love going for long walks or runs. She has separation anxiety and gets nervous around other dogs and some people. She does not like thunderstorms/fireworks. She is medicated for her anxiety and it helps a ton. She absolutely cannot be in a home with other animals or young children because she is food protective and can be unpredictable. We hate to re-home our sweet girl, but we now have a baby at home and don’t feel comfortable with her being around him. We really hope we can find a home that will put in the effort to properly care for Luna and make her feel comfortable and loved. Please reach out with any questions!

Story
Name: Kai Currwnt location: S.Korea Age: About 4 years old Sex: Male Weight: 34 kg (75 lbs) Breed: Great Pyrenees Vaccination/Neuter Status: Fully vaccinated & neutered Personality with Adults: Kai is incredibly gentle, affectionate, and well-mannered. He enjoys human companionship and loves being petted, often leaning in for more cuddles. At the same time, he is very independent and perfectly content spending time on his own without being demanding. He has no separation anxiety and shows no behavioral issues. With Children: He is just as calm and friendly with children as he is with adults. No concerns at all. With Other Dogs: Kai shows polite interest when greeting other dogs, but doesn’t become overly excited afterward. He gets along well with dogs of all sizes and does not show aggression—even toward more reactive dogs. With Cats: He has shown a tendency to chase cats outdoors, so careful management would be needed in a cat-filled environment. House Training: Kai is both indoor and outdoor potty trained but prefers going outside. If using pee pads indoors, a large and clean area is important, as he prefers a tidy space. Energy Level: Low (2/10). He is very calm, rarely gets excited, and prefers resting over active play. Separation Anxiety / Barking: No separation anxiety. He is quiet and does not bark when left alone. Handling & Affection: Kai absolutely loves being touched and will gently lean into you, asking for more affection. Leash & Walks: Excellent leash manners. He walks calmly without pulling and responds well when called. Due to his size and strength, basic handling awareness is recommended. He waits well at crosswalks and enjoys slow, relaxed walks. Escape Behavior: None. He does not attempt to run away indoors or outdoors. Rescue Story: Kai was rescued from a shelter after being abandoned. Special Notes: Kai is truly a model dog—gentle, calm, and well-behaved both at home and outside. It’s rare to find a dog with such a stable temperament and no behavioral issues. However, he is not a “clingy” dog and may not be the best match for someone looking for a constant shadow. He has received heartworm treatment in December 2025.

Story
We are so happy at how Kennedy has come along in the short 2 weeks she has been in her new foster home Kennedy. Since she’s been here, she’s been eating and drinking like a champ, chilling with foster brother Ted, and after a short warm up period, loves anyone who comes to the house. In the past two weeks, zero accidents, she doesn’t love the crate (but goes in when you lead her to it - although she seriously doesn’t need it), and has learned to love treats from Two Bostons and Ava's Pet Palace (if you haven’t checked out Ava’s treats, your pets are missing out - these guys love everything she makes!). She also walks on a leash like a dream. She does have a few quirks - she hates loud noises - garbage trucks, school buses, snow plows (her safe space in the house is on the landing going upstairs). Her other one is that she won’t walk on the hardwood floors so there are some extra throw rugs down for her. She would love to play with other dogs, but has quickly realized her foster brother isnt a "player". We have taken her through all her vetting- spayed, rabies vaccine, distemper vaccine, bordatella vaccine, fecal negative, heartworm negative, and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting Kennedy please email ATO4P at rescue@atailof4paws.org or go.to our website and fill out our application Www.atailof4paws.org

Leash walking: They are still new to leash walking, as a young pup, so will need to keep working on this! Dog social: Yes! Cat social: Unknown Kid friendly: Unknown, but we suspect they'd do well with respectful kids, given their young age Tad likes: - Exploring! - Playtime! - Cuddle time with their person Tad is a precious little pup who recently arrived from our Louisiana rescue partner. They are playful and fun, and love to learn and use their brain too! They are still learning all about the big new world around them, and would love an adopter who is ready for all the stages that puppyhood and being an adolescent brings. OTAT requires that all dogs 6 months and under be enrolled in a positive reinforcement training program within 2 weeks of their adoption at their adopter's expense. A $150 refundable deposit will be collected at the time of adoption, and refunded upon receipt of proof of enrollment in a positive reinforcement training program. Tad's adoption fee is $350, and this little pup is excited to grow up in their forever home!

Story
**OBI IS ADOPTED! **Striking and gorgeous in appearance, gentle and tender in temperament, our wonderfully huggable and smoochable Obi seeks his forever family. Beautiful Obi is a young Great Pyrenees mix who made his way to Pal's Place from an overwhelmed and overcrowded animal control facility in KY. His age is estimated to be between 10 and 12 months old, and he weighs 65 pounds. He's still got some growing to do, and we estimate he'll reach an adult weight of 80-95 pounds when fully mature. He's a stunningly handsome, unique-looking dog, but his real beauty lies in his exceptional temperament. Kind, gentle, affectionate, mild-mannered, and easy-going, Obi makes friends with everyone he meets, including children, other dogs, and even kitties. He is playful without being hyper and loves frolicking in the snow as much as he loves cuddling on the couch. He does not seem to know any commands, but he is intelligent and eager to please, so teaching him the basics should be a breeze! Obi is crate trained and does well with his housetraining when kept on a regular schedule. He can be a bit bashful with new people and in new situations, but he warms up very quickly with some encouraging words and pats. Our charming Kentucky country boy is now in a wonderful and doting foster home in Chicago, learning all about being a city dog while he patiently waits to meet you! This guy is truly a gem of a pup and will make whoever is lucky enough to be his humans incredibly happy. • Obi is fostered in Chicago, and meetings can be scheduled by appointment only after an adoption application has been completed and approved. His adoption donation to the rescue is $375. This fee helps to cover his neuter, initial vaccines, microchip, and heartworm testing. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. We respond to inquiries, questions, and applications by email. We are a volunteer-run organization and strive to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours, though we may occasionally take longer. Correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are awaiting a reply, please check those folders regularly. For more information or to receive an application, email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org
