Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized More about Lena: Housebroken: Yes! Crate trained: She has done well with free roam when home alone Leash walking: She can be a bit nervous in busier areas, so would benefit from working on her confidence on walks! Dog social: She lives with other dogs in her foster home and has done well. She prefers to coexist peacefully rather than engage in play. Cat social: Kid friendly: She has been friendly in brief interaction with respectful kids while on walks, but may prefer older kids given her nervousness of loud noises. Lena likes: - Howling along with the fire truck sirens - Snuggling with her people - Stuffies and rope toys Lena is a sweet and attentive girl who is very affectionate with her trusted humans. She is still adjusting to the city life in Chicago, so would appreciate an adopter who can help her build up her confidence! All she desires is love and human attention, and will be a wonderful addition to her new home! Lena is heartworm positive and on activity restriction. She is undergoing treatment at Ellis Clinic at no charge to their adopter. Heartworm is a treatable disease that most dogs make a full recovery from. A Heart as Big as His Paws Arlo is a gentle, loving, affectionate, 1 ½ -2 year old, 55 pound, Great Pyrenees mix with a heart as big as his paws. After surviving serious neglect, he’s now blossoming into a gorgeous, playful dog who loves to run, explore, and play fetch. Squeaky and crinkle toys are his favorite—he’ll happily chase them, toss them around, or quietly chew on one while resting beside you. He thrives on being around people and loves to stay close, whether you're working around the house or relaxing on the couch. Arlo would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard where he can run safely and freely. Because of his size and energy, he’s best suited for a home with children over 8. He is an incredibly loyal, loving addition to the right home. This sweet boy craves your companionship. He’s shown a strong interest in playing with the resident cats in his foster home, although they haven’t returned the enthusiasm. While his interactions with other dogs haven’t been directly tested, he seems eager to engage with other animals and would likely enjoy a home where he isn’t the only pet, or where he gets plenty of quality time with his people. Arlo is both housebroken and kennel trained. His cue to go outside is subtle. He’ll quietly wait by the door, so you do have to pay close attention, but he’s very reliable when given regular opportunities. While he’s already well-mannered, Arlo would benefit from formal training classes to help him build confidence and improve his obedience skills. This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, provided inoculations, tested for diseases, provided treatment for skin conditions, dewormed, neutered, and microchipped.
