Story

Luna is a 7 year old Great Pyrenees mix, about 55 lbs. If you are one of her people, Luna is incredibly sweet. She is very intelligent and full of energy. She loves to play with her toys and get love, but also loves to relax. She would really benefit from training, we could just never find the right trainer for her. She is not great with walking on a leash, but she does love going for long walks or runs. She has separation anxiety and gets nervous around other dogs and some people. She does not like thunderstorms/fireworks. She is medicated for her anxiety and it helps a ton. She absolutely cannot be in a home with other animals or young children because she is food protective. We hate to re-home our sweet girl, but we now have a child and can’t give her the attention she deserves. We really hope we can find a home that will put in the effort to properly care for Luna and make her feel comfortable and loved. Please reach out with any questions!

Story

Meet Kleya! I’m currently being fostered with my sibling brother, Luthen, since we’ve come up from KY. I’m a 6 month old Great Pyrenees(white fluff) mix around 40 lbs. I have A LOT of love to give! I always find ways to scooch in for the pets and hugs while my brother is getting the attention. I’m so good at sleeping in the crate at night, and I rest in the crate during the day up to 4-5 hours, I even like to go in my crate on my own. Even though I’m a puppy exploring lots of things, I know the words “drop it”, “wait”, “sit”, “down”, “out”, “crate” and the occasional “paw”. I walk on the leash in the yard to do my business (sometimes holding my favorite stick) and though I’m a little surprised by things when we go for walks outside the yard, I sure do love to smells the smells. I’m a very good listener. I love to play with my brother, but I more love when my foster family gives me the attention with cuddles, scratches, and pets. I don’t know why they don’t always appreciate all the kisses I like to give them? My favorite toys are nylabones/chewy's, braided rope, Tuff tug toys that I tease my brother with, a long squeaky fox toy. One of my favorite things to do is to try to herd my brother. He doesn’t always appreciate me. Treats are always a great way to reward me, but I love the pets and hugs more! We are completely vetted- spayed, rabies vaccine, distemper vaccines, bordatella, microchipped, negative fecal and are on monthly prevention. Story

We are so happy at how Kennedy has come along in the short 2 weeks she has been in her new foster home Kennedy. Since she’s been here, she’s been eating and drinking like a champ, chilling with foster brother Ted, and after a short warm up period, loves anyone who comes to the house. In the past two weeks, zero accidents, she doesn’t love the crate (but goes in when you lead her to it - although she seriously doesn’t need it), and has learned to love treats from Two Bostons and Ava's Pet Palace (if you haven’t checked out Ava’s treats, your pets are missing out - these guys love everything she makes!). She also walks on a leash like a dream. She does have a few quirks - she hates loud noises - garbage trucks, school buses, snow plows (her safe space in the house is on the landing going upstairs). Her other one is that she won’t walk on the hardwood floors so there are some extra throw rugs down for her. She would love to play with other dogs, but has quickly realized her foster brother isnt a "player". We have taken her through all her vetting- spayed, rabies vaccine, distemper vaccine, bordatella vaccine, fecal negative, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Story

Hi! I’m Luthen, Lu for short! I’m a 6 month old Great Pyrenees mix or as I also hear I am a "white fluff", and I am currently being fostered with my sibling Kleya. I’m the brave one, playful, and also have a sweet gentle side. I love to get all the attention and cuddle or should I say I like to lay on my people. It doesn't matter that I'm about 45 lbs. I sleep overnight in my crate, and for about 4-5 hours during the day. You know I need to get those sleeps in for my growing body. I also like to go into my crate on my own when I am tired from all the shenanigans with my sister Kleya. We practice leash walking in the yard to do my business, always holding my favorite stick the whole time. And I don’t mind the dogs that live on either side of my fenced yard. I’m very excited to smell all the smells when we are walking outside the yard. On my walks they use these yummy fruit treats to get my attention and to get me to listen to commands. I am doing well with the housebreaking and basic puppy obedience like “drop it”, “wait”, “sit”, “down”, “out”, “crate” and sometimes I’m willing to give “paw”. I’ll take praise, cuddles and hugs over treats, too. But you know I’ve got to give that Great Pyr famous side-eye occasionally. My favorite toys are nylabones/chew toys, braided rope, a crinkly little stuffed rhino, a Tuff tug toy to play tug-of-war. We are completely vetted- neutered, rabies vaccine, distemper vaccines, bordatella, microchipped, negative fecal and are on monthly prevention. Bleu is new around here, but also not new at all. He joined us from our good friends in Texas in June and was adopted in July. When life threw a curveball, he found his way back to CRA. We’re disappointed it didn’t work out, but fully committed to finding him the right forever home this time. Bleu is a sensitive boy—like, actually. Change is hard for him and he needs time to process. He’s sweet as can be and never shows anything but love, but he does require patience, reassurance, and someone fully prepared to wipe the drool that comes from being an emotional little marshmallow. He’ll fall in love with you faster than you expect, but fair warning—the first few days may come with some sad eyes while he confirms he’s safe. After that? You’re his person. Our unofficial best guess is that he’s a Great Pyrenees/Lab mix. We’re not experts, but if that’s the case, he’s absolutely nailed both. At roughly 80 pounds, Bleu comes with a heavy head and zero personal space. A large couch (and a sense of humor) is highly recommended. We do think Bleu needs a fenced yard—yes, he really said, “Let’s make this complicated.” But we promised him we’d give him everything he needs (and maybe everything he wants… have you seen his face?). He’d love a dog friend, but it’s not mandatory—we’re trying to be realistic here. No other dog? No problem. He’d be happy with some semi-frequent playdates to keep life interesting and is totally fine having you all to himself. Bleu loves structure—set him up with a solid routine and some training, and he’ll be the best boy you ever met. Ignore it, and… well, he’ll still be cute.
