Found as a stray and taken to an overcrowded shelter in Dallas, Texas, I was skin and bones and infested with ticks. But then a miracle happened: I was placed in a foster home and shown kindness and caring—something I’d never known before. I also received my first bath (which was fabulous!), and was fed on a regular schedule, so that I started gaining weight. Then the second miracle happened: I was transported to CARE, where the staff promised to find me myforever person/family. Talk about a turn-around—right Here’s some facts about me. My favorite pastime is leaning against the legs of the volunteers and getting lots of hugs and pets. Walks are my second favorite activity. I proudly hold my tail high in the air and stop to greet every adult and child I meet. My other “likes” are chew toys, and redecorating my kennel by moving my bed around to different spots. And I’m the perfect sidekick in the car, jumping right into the back seat and lying down for the ride (which hopefullywill include a visit to a McDonald’s drive-thru). As for the basics, I’m potty trained, crate trained, and know a few commands, such as sit, come, and off. I’m eager to learn more, and my food-motivation should make for easy training when you sign us up for obedience classes (a requirement for my adoption). Here’s the last thing I want to tell you about myself. I have never officially had a home so I need to gain weight and confidence. I do ok with dogs off leash but my first encounters on leash need improved. I would be best as the only dog in the home until I fell better.
